Hanover Inn Dartmouth is directly across from Dartmouth College green and campus, at the corner of charming boutiques and casual eateries. It is a prime location for the college (for visiting parents and reunions) and also a nice location for anyone traveling for a medical appointment or to visit a patient at DHMC nearby. Having said this there is a feel of corporate-ness and our room, touted as having a 'campus view', while it faced campus direction across the green this was nothing to write home about (the brick side of the hotel with a single campus spire poking above a tree beyonder). Also, the toilet lid of our toilet when first lifted revealed itself to be completely off its hinges, something that housekeeping (which did a good but not great job) may have noticed and attended to before we checked in. Pine, the bar-restaurant is fine, with outdoor seating for nice weather. The food is very American; the service good but not genteel. We had a single drink at the bar with friends, then opted for room service. There were no apparent streaming options so bring your own Apple TV or HDMI cable if you'd like to watch a film.

The toilet. The host and restaurant service (however, the bartender was terrific and you can eat at the bar).

Breakfast was great. The fact that the Inn would not honor my discount due to surgery at Hancock is a scam. One night was booked on line, the other directly but I visited the Inn and was told that the rates for both nights would be 255.00 and that was without the discount.

Just reiterated what went wrong. And, why charge over When your room is facing a boiler ? Not attractive but would not have minded had the room been rated as such.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff were great. The room service dinner was very good. High quality food.

The room price was too high by about $100. I would not stay here again because of the room costs. The room was small for the price. I realize that it is an older building, but I don't think that it's worth the price.

Location is practically on campus at Dartmouth, right at the gateway to Hanover town. They offered valet parking. It was a more polished hotel than I was expecting.

Though the room was fine, it could use a little updating in terms of design consideration. For example, there was no refrigerator and the beds could be supplied with night stands on both sides.

Had one of those experiences that inevitably happens with problem with the room. However, the front desk staff did a great job taking my concerns into account and going out of their way to show their commitment to customer service, that I don’t find very often. Really proved the saying it’s best to ask for help. Highly recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was fine. The location is perfect as it is near shops and on the Blue bus route which makes it easy to get to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock medical facility.

Maybe a little closer to our home in Vermont? :-)

Excellent location. Very welcoming and helpful staff. We were allowed to check in a little earlier so we could make the 2.30pm college tour. Specious bathroom and comfortable beds. Pine restaurant has excellent breakfast and dinner options.

This is an outstanding property! From arrival to departure everything was perfect. Valet desk was so kind and helpful, so nice and friendly. Front desk was the same. I would go back to Hanover just to stay at the Hanover Inn.

The hotel was beautiful, the front desk staff and valet/bell service were both excellent. The beautifully appointed lobby and common spaces were a pleasure to be in and felt like an elevated home experience. The restaurant had excellent service- particularly Jason, Gaby and Craig went above and beyond for a memorable evening. The food was amazing!

Housekeeping came to our room, but did an incomplete job- the bed was made, but the ice bucket was not emptied, used glasses were not replaced, and other items were not cleaned.

Personalized attention from the staff from check in to check out. Breakfast was excellent, service and food. Comfortable bed and exceptional bathroom. Close to restaurants and to Dartmouth.
