The Common Man Inn & Restaurant

It was a perfect mix of lodge meets eclectic, with comfy beds and plenty to do. The windows in our suite were stunning and we had the river as a built in sound machine each night. Our little one loved the in house kitty, Clare, though I’m not sure it was a shared sentiment, ha! We took the kiddos on an adventure to see the river and there was a cute park nearby, plus a coffee shop right across the street & of course the Common Man restaurant downstairs with so many options - though heads up, you cannot get a glass of wine there & carry it back to your room! The morning continental breakfast had a handful of options, but being dairy & soy free due to allergies, we were able to find a cereal & almond milk, which was appreciated.

Our “suite” was about the size of a standard hotel room but their hotel rooms were smaller than average. Our pull out couch (twin sized bed) wouldn’t quite pull out due to the size of the room, so we had to angle it past the king bed. This wasn’t an issue, just quirky! Would have loved a small kitchenette, too, but the amenities worked for us!

My best friend and I have stayed at the common man plenty of times to many to count now lol and every time is always exceptional! The rooms are all unique with a nice decor and super clean!! The king bed extremely comfortable and the water view and sound of the water is so peaceful it’s the best part of the stay! The front end staff and all staff are always the best and accommodating Christopher and Jake are always great! Easy check in and out, great location to friends in the area and other things to do. No concerns or issues we are true fans of the Common man and recommend to anyone to experience.

The only minor issues is the breakfast area it is nice to be able to get up and get coffee, bagels muffins etc but the area is small and families tend to take up the tables space area and you have to move around everything. Otherwise no other concerns.

The common has always been a favorite location and property for myself and friends. The staff are always nice (Jackie and Jake, new Hire/ young lady and others). The location is close to family and friends and near places I visit with friends. The rooms are always super clean and cozy. The cleaning ladies are the best (two younger ladies Alexis and Kayla that assisted me were so nice and professional the best every stay) . My best friend and I enjoyed our stays and will continue to come back. The restaurant is also a favorite of mine. This time around the restaurant staff (Manager Sabrina) was extremely the best for assisting in helping me order food with superb customer service and the best welcoming personality (other managers should learn from you). There was a mix up with our reservations when we arrived and that was very frustrating but Jake was very helpful and understanding and thank you for finding us a room with good accommodations! The breakfast is always a nightmare at the common man the area is too small and some guest are not aware of their surroundings and tend to take up all the tables for their own families not good, the breakfast I so wish was in the restaurant not near main lobby entrance huge disadvantage.

The common man is always a great stay! The staff are exceptionally, cleaning crew( especially Kate) and management all great the rooms are always clean and comfortable with nice decor, the location is close to everything and within walking distance to most good restaurants and places. I have been a fan of the Common man for many years and would recommend to others to experience. we will be back during the holidays.

The only minor issues were the ice machine did not work and it is only one to use for the whole hotel. The staff were very nice about giving options to use the restaurant to get ice if needed. The bathroom in the king deluxe room was kinda of small but if some wall shelves were added it would be so helpful to put toiletries on when sharing the bathroom with friends or family. The pillows are small but at least there were many on the bed to utilize.

I have always been a fan of the common Man Inn! The room was very nice, clean and enjoyed the river views! The staff were all very nice and friendly! The location perfect to friends and things to do. We enjoyed the Resturant and like the changes that have been made enhance the inside of the restaurant. I always recommend to the Common Man Inn to others.

The only small concern I would say is the pillows for the bed very small not to comfortable but the bed was very comfortable! The restaurant although we enjoyed the food, atmosphere and “most “of the friendly staff new waiter (very nice guy and we enjoyed his cus my party of 7 just felt bad that(new waiter) he needed some help in general with clearing tables, bringing food out etc no fault to him just it was busy and some of my party had food and other parties had to wait so we did not get to all eat together (although the food was GREAT!!).

Location is a little difficult to find. The room was very nice with interesting decor. Had some brick walls. Furniture was Mission style or Arts & Crafts. Comfortable bed. Lobby was very unique as it was once an old mill. Have what they call a continental breakfast but it is very good with Greek yogurt, Jimmy Dean sandwiches, great muffins and bagels, fruit, juices and cereal.

Parking not being on site is a slight downer.

Easy drive from Route 91, short ride to Mt Sunapee and Pine Hill. Also a rail trail, Snake River Trail, near by. Historic Building, formerly a textile mill, with lots of charm. We were intrigued by the metal bars in the ceiling that were remnants from the building's life as a mill. Our room had a wonderful view of the Snake River. Restaurant and bar in a separate building via a sheltered walkway are fantastic. Lovely to return after a day skiing and be able to sit in the bar area in front of a fireplace, return later for dinner. Parking is at a indoor lot just down the street. Breakfast available in the lobby in the morning-bagels, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches. Very sweet and adorable 'Inn Kitty'.

Lovely New England vibe...The Common Man exceeded my expectations for the following reasons: excellent breakfast options ( yogurt, granola, egg sandwiches, delicious coffee ); the staff were warm, friendly, polite, and they accommodated my request to be near my friend. I loved hearing the sounds of the waterfall, and could easily picture the place as a former Mill. There was a Christmas tree up, and a lazy cat lounged in the lobby...making it just as cozy as it could be! Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

nada- except that the restaurant was not open to enjoy...( due to the pandemic/ low staff?)

I’m scared of cats.. their inn holds a calm cat which walks around.. it would have been nice to have been mentioned in the property description.. I would have still opted the place despite the cat, simply that I would have had time to prepare my mind for it

Water running right towards our room. Breakfast right outside our door. Many options considering it wasn't prepared.
