When I planned my trip I had no idea Balloon Fest was going on and could not figure out why nothing was available and everything cost so much. Was kind of bummed to be booked at a motel more on the outskirts of the city. Waked in to find a friendly front desk staff and microbrew bar. Turns out the hotel is owned by a brewery group. The court yard has all these cool little restaurants, pretty much like fixed place food trucks. The rooms are remodeled and mine was very nice. Obviously this is not the Four Seasons, but way above expectations. When I walked out the 1st night a band was playing in the court yard and it was full of locals eating and having a good time. You are near nature trails and the botanical garden, and the old town touristy area, all an easy walk. Central downtown is ~2 mile walk. I never rate anything on Bookings, but this place stood out.

This is such a cute motel. Clean, great location and the staff was wonderful. There are shops and small food places right in with the motel (guest area is always locked) great pool area. Close to old Town across the street from the botanical gardens and aquarium and around the corner from zoo. Some others put in their reviews that the parking was a block away, It’s NOT! Right out in back of motel.

El Vado Motel rocks. The location, the cute stores, the great food outdoor areas, Beer Bar, pool, outdoor spaces and privacy are wonderful. What makes the El Vado stand apart is first — the staff! They do any/every thing to make your stay outstanding. The rooms are quiet with triple pane windows, bed very comfortable, relaxing lay clean, newly remodeled. The a.c., shower and room amenities are top notch. Decorations and art are unique and fun.

I love how clean it was. The gentleman at the motel was sweet. He put a iron in the room for me before I arrived because I needed to iron cloths for a filming we were doing the next day. I also loved, loved the location to this place. In a very historic area. I felt safe and I was worried about my car and everything was fine. The restaurants were near near shopping.

The only thing is that parking is difficult at times. Limited spaces. But that ended working out too.

Loved the authentically and tastefully repurposed historical hotel + garage combos, comfortable rooms and the staff was wonderful. The best was one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in. The outdoor area was great to relax and we liked having good food options so close to the hotel. The location is great is you’re just a 10 minute walk from Oldtown and it’s easy to drive anywhere you like in Albuquerque. Highly recommended, we’ll stay there again the next time!

There was some music coming from outdoor speakers one night that disturbed our sleep but the staff took care of it when we asked and never did it again.

This is an adorable little hotel in a great location. Our room opened out to the pool which is 3.5 feet deep and filled with cool water which was a relief as it was 90F outside. After refreshing ourselves at the pool, we saw they had a live band setting up in the common area where they had a covered patio with misters and there were several small funky restaurants to get food from AND there was a local brewery selling great craft beer! The beds were VERY comfy and the shower had good pressure. We only stayed one night but I want to come back and stay for a weekend!

Our room was very tiny with little cross ventilation. We could not ventilate the bathroom.

Reasonable rates. I didn't have a car, but with such a great location, I got along fine. Across the street from the aquarium, shuttle to the zoo, a short walk or free bus ride to OldTown. Very clean and quaint old adobe style, 4 little restaurants on site with outdoor seating and misters! Beer taps on site! Nicely landscaped pool and coutyard grounds. This place made my trip super! It will make yours better, too! STAY HERE!

I really have no complaints. I guess if you want luxury or 5 stars, this place would. not be for you.

Total vintage & beautifully renovated! loved the tap room! In season, that outdoor patio & pool will be awesome!!! I was there just a little too early in the season to experience that. The close proximity to Old Town is nice!

It’s just a little difficult to find where to pull into the facility to check in. Once we found out the parking outside the event space was for guests, it was fine. The room I had was a little small, but to be expected as the motel us on the historical register & the renovation stays true to the original design. Neither of these items I mention are deal breakers! I really like the place!

The El Vado was exactly as advertised. There were many good dining options in the immediate vicinity. The hotel was in a convenient location for lots of local attractions, including Old Town Albuquerque and the Botanical Garden. We were even treated to live music in the courtyard on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Because of the entertainment on the weekend, finding parking at the hotel was difficult. Friday night we had to park a couple of blocks away, but were able to move the car to the hotel parking once the festivities ended. We enjoyed the music and fun, so the parking ended up being pretty much a non issue.

Was pleasantly surprised to find there was a tap room and a number of small food vendors at the property and live music through the late afternoon early evening - we arrived tired from travelling not really wanting to go back out for dinner and at El Vado we didn’t have to! Room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. There was a wedding on one night but we heard nothing.

I’d say the only thing that would make it better would be to have a small fridge on the room.
