Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe

I can't even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed staying here (but I'll try- we stayed for 7 wonderful nights) First, location, cannot beat the location being 1 block off the Plaza - we walked everywhere and had a blast (so thankful also for the free parking as you cannot hardly find parking near the Plaza) As for the room, we got the Deluxe King suite and LOVEd it! Spacious living area, Mini Fridge, Keurig and Microwave - two TV's (one in living area and one larger one in Bedroom area) and had HBO and Starz both so plenty of options for movies! My wife and I both were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the bed was - not typical experience for us in hotels The service was literally second to none! Special thanks to Alejandra for going above and beyond with all our questions, particularly on the front side of our trip!

What's not to like? Beautiful hotel, awesome room, attentive and helpful staff and the location just a block off the Plaza was amazing! We only took our car out of the FREE parking garage a couple times during our week stay there as everything we wanted to see was within walking distance!

Location, location, location! Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe was conveniently located within walking distance to just about every place we had hoped to visit on the Plaza. We loved our suite (with the exception of the noise from the immediately adjacent street and the early-morning garbage truck visit) and the bed was amazing. Stop in to the on-site Low 'n Slow Bar & Lounge for a unique experience and excellent drinks! Also loved the underground parking! Isis (front desk) and Lupe (maintenance) were friendly and helpful.

See comments about the street noise right outside our bedroom windows. We also didn't like the fact that there was no option for a good on-site breakfast; however, the hotel did provide morning snacks (granola bars and selected fruits). There is a restaurant (Estevan Restaurante) serving dinner on the property but we didn't get a chance to try it out. The Hotel offers access to a pool and a fitness center through two "sister" properties.

Checking in was a breeze at the front desk. 'All' of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean they have an amazing housekeeping staff. There is a wood fireplace inside the room and all I had to do was ask and they came in and made one for me every night. The restaurant and Bar in this hotel was super easy to get a quick bite and drink when you don't want to be out in the city bustle. The front desk told me they are affiliated with other hotels in the area that have pool workout spas that we are allowed to use that was a great Plus if you're into that on vacation. I personally don't use hotel amenities when my vacation too busy doing Outdoor Adventures. One last thing the pictures of the rooms on the internet are identical to the inside. Can't wait to come back here.

I can't believe I'm saying this but there was nothing I didn't like in this hotel.

It is less than half a block to the Plaza with tons of shopping & dining. The staff is outstanding & one of just a few hotels we’ve traveled to since Covid that housekeeping serviced the room daily. Underground parking garage was great. Our King Suite was very large & had lots of storage & the bed was great. The hotel provides a text number for communicating any needs during your stay & they are very responsive.

There’s no restaurant on premises for breakfast but so many within a block so that was ok. Our suite was large & comfy all EXCEPT for the bathroom which was very tight & needs more (or better) lighting.

The location was great. One half block from the Plaza. The pizza at the bar in the hotel was the best pizza I have ever had! The room decor was very nice. Loved the crosses above the fireplace. Very comfortable bed. Leather couch and chair were very nice.

There wer only a few things I didn’t really like. The ac return unit was in bath area near bed was loud. The bar area in the suite had sink there. It could use paper towels or bar towel for spills. TV in living area was a bit small.

This is a historic property just around the corner from the Plaza so, a great location. There was coffee and tea and a daily pastry in the lobby for self service. Enough to get you going for the day if you did not want to dine out. Our room also had coffee and tea and a microwave and refrigerator. The free underground parking was definite plus. There was a mix up with our room so, they put us in another room and did not charge for the first night. The next day they upgraded us to a Junior Presidential Suite which had a separate bedroom and living area with fireplace. They charged us the same rate as for the room that we originally booked. Mikala was at the desk and was very helpful and immediately contacted the manager to work out the mixup. We feel that they went above and beyond in taking care of the situation. When we checked into our new room there was a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and chocolates with a nice note from the customer service representative. Would definitely stay there again when in Santa Fe.

This was a work trip for me, so while I was working it was and easy drive to get back to the hotel. While I was relaxing, the location was perfect as everything was a walking distance from the hotel.

As mentioned before, this was a work trip for me and I needed a late checkout which I was told would happen but during checkout, I was told the late check out would not be possible. A little disappointed but ended up checking out right at the time they game me; not ideal but I had to do it.

From arrival to departure, the staff was above & beyond. We parked in the garage and we had a lot of luggage. I had a fractured rib & my older friend is not able to help with heavy items. The manager arrived to the parking garage in his car. He evidently saw us struggling & he drove up, got out of his car & offered to help us. It was perfect timing. I was struggling with the pain of unloading. He helped & took all of our luggage to our room. The front desk employee was amazing. She offered many recommendations for restaurants & points of interests. We needed a couple of extra toiletries & housekeeping was happy to accommodate. The location is great, in close proximity to the Plaza & many other tourist attractions. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is classified as “pet-friendly”, however, there is no appropriate area anywhere nearby the hotel for a dog to relieve itself. There is only concrete or a few small areas of gravel across the street. A small grass or even artificial grass area (where pets can relieve themselves & pet owners can clean up after them) would be very beneficial.

The property itself is beautiful and located so close to the plaza. We were within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see. The bed was wonderful....very comfortable. Everything was clean. Hotel bar was great as well. The rooms were nicely decorated. Hear and ac worked well and were quiet. Maintenance was fast and helpful as were all the other staff.

The parking garage was very limited and if you left it was difficult to get a spot, our last night we did actually have to park on the road next to the property and had it not been after 6pm on a weekend, we would have had to pay the meter. Additionally, it would have been nice to have more options of pillow (maybe 2 firm, 2 soft on each bed) as we found the pillows had just a little too much give. Our only other minor complaint was that while overall the property was quiet, it was very easy to hear guests coming and going from their rooms or on the stairs and pets or children in other rooms were easily heard as well. Our suite did also only have two cushioned chairs, we would have preferred a couch or a loveseat as it was hard to relax by the fire in the provided chairs.

Location was amazing. Free coffee nice along with snacks and water.

The room was weird with a stair case that went to emergency exit and additional room. They were in the middle of the room which decreased the room space. If you had a family and it was your adjoining room I guess it would be reasonable for for single room it was weird. Room was still comfortable. Location of property is awesome. Parking is very nice, close and safe.
