This is a small hotel, in an excellent location for exploring a “City Different” aka Santa Fe, New Mexico. It’s less than a 10-minute stroll to the plaza but for those seeking proximity with serenity this fits the bill. The rooms are spread out over several unconnected building serviced by a central reception and dining area for breakfast. Plenty of off-street parking which is a major plus given the challenge of finding a place during high tourist season. The venue is clean, but for those who care, a bit dated. My room had a fireplace and some nice Southwestern artwork, however overall was a bit on the dark side.. This is not a place to stay however, if you a seeking a room ”with a view”…but why would you need it when you visit the Land of Enchantment, which is best appreciated in the great out of doors. My room had a King bed that was extremely comfortable, with plenty of pillows. Staff is welcoming, informative and helpful. Breakfast, not fancy, but tasty and classic New Mexican (Breakfast burritos with green chili) with coffee made to order as well as the basics…Bagels & lox also included with your room if desired. Finally, given there are many much more expensive venues in SF, Los Palmas scores a 10 on the value for the money scale.

No significant negatives to mention. I stayed during the month of January. For those not interested in low carbon footprints, during the winter the room is set at ~ 68 degrees…fine for sleeping, perhaps a bit chilly for those from more tropical climes. The hot/cold water facets were “reversed” in my unit with hot being on the right…Not a deal breaker, but could be dangerous to the uninformed. A solid eight…excellent choice at a fair price. You can save on lodging costs while spending your earning on any of the fine dining restaurants well within walking distance.

Very friendly atmosphere! Great breakfast selection and coffee/tea bar! Everything was very clean! The location was perfect to walk into the plaza!

The TV in our room definitely needed the remote reprogrammed. We asked for assistance and we got the TV connected correctly, but then realized that the remote didn't work. We did try the batteries and to reprogram it, but failed. It's a good thing we don't really watch TV! We also could not get the electric fireplace to start up, but the room was warm enough!

Breakfast great. Coffee great. Breakfast room great. Location great. Bedding great. Fireplace great.

I stayed in room 59, which was delightful with its sunny windows. However, there’s a street lamp directly outside those windows which allows way too much light through the blinds during the night. I suggest upgrading the blinds in the room to eliminate all the gaps and/or adding a curtain over the blinds that can be pulled across the window as needed. I was also uncomfortable about the gaps between the blinds for another reason—I felt a passerby or peeping Tom could easily see into the room at night when the lights are on.

Las Palomas has an awesome location with its walking distance to the historic Santa Fe plaza, museums, the state Capitol building, the railyard district, restaurants, bars, and shops. I had the studio room and it was great for a 5 night stay. It had a wood burning kiva (very nice on a chilly winter's eve) and the accom provided firewood daily. I had to google how to set up a fire in a kiva (it's different than a regular fireplace) and then it was easy. The king bed was comfy and the bathroom was a nice size. With the included breakfast, there are five cooked options (the breakfast burrito and the blue corn blueberry pancakes were particularly yummy), an area with fresh fruit, oatmeal, and bagels/croissants. Plus you get a freshly made espresso drink. I really enjoyed staying here and it felt like a pied-a-terre in Santa Fe.

One suggestion - near the kiva, tell people that the fire set up is different than a regular fireplace. Then include a QR code linking you to a short video about how to set up a fire.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Warm, homemade cookies each afternoon, coffee and cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, and extra effort like making us fresh coffee at night for an early morning departure. The bed was very comfortable and the space was quiet and walkable to most Santa Fe attractions.

Our casita was very spacious and had a charming outdoor area however it was bare and lacked charm. When we reserved, the picture showed an adorable space with a kiva fireplace and typical Santa Fe architecture.

As always, staff are the most important part of the experience at any lodging. Everyone at Las Palomas was friendly and helpful! From the owner to the registration desk to the breakfast staff - they could not have been nicer. The breakfast is amazing. And the local art is lovely. The location was only a short walk from the town square and there are many restaurants and cafes in the area. You can walk to just about anywhere in town.

This is an ongoing complaint my husband and I have about most lodging. There needs to be more hooks and towel bars in the bathrooms - just somewhere to hang a hand towel next to the sink or a robe near the shower. A common problem in most inns and hotels.

We had such a wonderful experience at Las Palomas. The property is bright & colorful, with thunderbird totems scattered about. Our room was on one of the side properties (#9), all the way in the back with a little fence, so we had a lot of privacy. All of the side properties are within walking distance of the main properties, so if our parking lot was full, there were plenty of slots at the main property. I absolutely loved the location. Just a quick 10 minute walk to the shops, museums, and restaurants of Old Town, and a 10 min drive to other attractions, such as Meow Wolf. It was about a 30 min drive to some wonderful hiking to see the petroglyphs. I always felt safe walking around during the day - it's a very nice neighborhood. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, and very filling. You could even order fancy drinks, like espresso & chai lattes at no extra cost. The staff was very friendly & helpful, and the bed was super comfortable & cozy. You also get a free stack of wood for the fireplace every day! We had a wonderful stay, and would come back again.

We did have an issue with the shower not turning on, but we let the front desk know, and maintenance fixed it very quickly. And there were some gaps in the doorframe that let in a draft, but we utilized the fireplace & heat, and the temperature was not an issue.

Google maps wasn't accurate but the hotel staff was helpful in directing me to the main office. The made-to-order hot breakfast (options) was delicious and included a variety of fruits, breads, pastries, coffee, juices, etc. My room was on the main property which had plenty of parking. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Heater/fan was quiet. The location was perfect. I walked to the State Capitol, old plaza, churches, historic district, stores, etc.

The traditional fireplace room that I had initially booked wasn't what I expected. See other reviewer comments. The hotelier was really kind and accommodating and moved me to a gas fireplace room. If you're not used to traditional fireplaces, I would suggest booking a room with a gas fireplace, one without a fireplace (if they offer) or call the hotel to get a better understanding on the available options. Also, not all rooms are located on the main lot but they are a very short walk to the main office where breakfast is served.

We loved this place! The room was so unique, large and comfortable. Big bathroom, easy-to-use heating/cooling system, great TV/cable options. The breakfast was amazing! So many choices made to order from the kitchen, plus a beautiful spread of fresh fruit and incredible homemade pastries. And a big shout out to Eddie who greeted us and provided tons of helpful info about downtown dining, shopping and entertainment options. We may visit Santa Fe again just so we can stay here!

There wasn't really anything we didn't like, except we weren't able to make morning coffee in our room. But there was plenty in the dining room so it really wasn't a problem.

Las Palomas is a truly unique lodging experience. All the rooms are different and many feature outdoor areas for enjoying the nice weather. The breakfasts were fantastic with an array of custom made selections, and eating area was eclectic and enjoyable. Staff was helpful at every turn. The location is within walking distance of downtown Santa Fe and dozens of excellent restaurants. You will walk by hotels that cost hundreds more per night knowing that you got a much better deal.

The room we had was a little dark (but not a big deal since we were not there for the room). Definitely recommend contacting the location for selecting the best room since the website does not really list the multitude of options. They could also benefit from better signage since it is difficult to find the main entrance using GPS.
