Surfside On The Lake

Great location. We loved the rentals for the lake.

The rooms need some updating.

The most comfortable bed and room I have ever stayed in.

We were up charged $25 for amenities that are clearly not offered on the off season. Plus the ice machine was not in operation. There were people as myself on the property that would have appreciated chairs and fire pits by the water even thought it was cold out. It’s a beautiful lake all year round and we went there to enjoy it. No rooms were open by the lake at all. You could step things up a bit for people that enjoy winter in Lake George. That is why we went there in the winter.

The decode in the room was beautiful and room clean bed comfortable. So unexpected as the outside of hotel looked like a 1960s motel but the bedroom (delux water facing exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately because we were there September 25 the hotel had closed a lot of facilities as end of season so there was no breakfast on site we had to go into town to get breakfast and ate at another hotel called Fort William Henry. Likewise the boats were not available for use either. But room was very beautiful and clean and pool heated to 82f and children loved to play area so we had a very nice time.

I didn’t get given a map to find our room when we arrived late (9pm) and spent a long time trying to find our room in the dark with small children and heavy bags. I didn’t like that the kayaks and other peddle boats were not available for use as it was “out of season” it was September 25 its hardly winter. The room was beautiful and clean but the concrete walkways was very scruffy and dirty it gave an initial bad impression if the concrete was just painted white it would improve the walk ways greatly. Would really have liked breakfast on site how hard would it have been to provide frozen jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches to microwave and juice box we only had a morning to enjoy the pool and fishing/play area and we spent most of it looking for breakfast venue.

Cleanness in our room, and all around the premises, and courteous assistance of the guy in the beach activities cabin.

Desk front staff.. It felt like I was buying bus tickets when I checked it & out. Not a single word or gesture to welcome us, nor a thank you for returning the waistband we were given to proof our staying there. There restaurant was closed weekdays without updating it in their web, nor informed in the front desk.

We did not enjoy the breakfast. Everything tasted as if it was past the due date. We would not have breakfast there again.

The first room we entered really smelled of cigarette although it’s a non-smoking hotel?!? When we told the front office, they immediately gave us another room. In this 2nd room, the air conditioning wasn’t working, so it got quite hot. Also, when my husband went to take his shower, he turned on the water and the spout bursted out at him. If he hadn’t been quick enough to move, he would have been hurt quite bad. Finally, the door need to be sealed as there are openings all around and ants enter the room.

Property was in an extremely good location. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Had a problem with bathtub drainage and refrigerator. Staff came within 15 minutes of call, and quickly fixed both problems satisfactorily.

Water facilities were more oriented towards children than adults. Children were having a good time, but both the lakefront and pool were very small. Pleasant to sit by, but not very good for adult swimming.

Overall convenience, quality and value. Easy walk to center of Village. Rooftop with bar on site. Breakfast overlooking Lake. Water Private beach access with free water activities. Breakfast staff superb, with quality food at reasonable prices. Rooftop bar service responsive and professional. Cleaning staff responsive and professional. Seems to provide more of the complete package then competitors.

Front desk seems to get overwhelmed.

I didn’t go “in season” so we didn’t have the ability to check out the hotel restaurant, pub or water sports. I wish we could have gone out in the paddle boats but I understand the water was cold. That said, the manager was very accommodating and the house keeping staff was very efficient. I would definitely recommend the Surfside to friends. The view of the lake was exceptional!!!

We had an amazing time in Lake George and we can’t wait to come back! Surf Side on the Lake was the perfect place to stay. The staff are friendly, the property was clean, and our room was nice. My husband, myself, and our two kids had a blast! The property has everything you need. There is so much to do at the hotel that we never left until we went out in the evening. My kids would go back and forth from the pool, to the playground, and to the lake. It was really convenient having restaurants on the property, the food and service were great. Being able to never use our car was the best part. Everything is close by, it was so much fun walking around Lake George, getting food, shopping, arcades, etc.

I liked that the room & the whole hotel was clean, the beds comfortable, the little efficiency kitchen, loved the balcony. The location was within walking distance of everything. The bathtub/shower was very nice - deeper tub & a good shower head. We ate at "Club Hamilton" which is part of the hotel, for breakfast twice, very good & it was outside on the deck - nice.

Next time we stay here, I'll request that we're closer to the lake. In the ad, it looked like the hotel was sat up so everyone was close to the lake but there are rooms next to the road & thats where we were - it was still nice, but we were looking at the backside of the hotel next to us & the parking lot. It would have been better if we were on the 2ed or 3rd floor maybe. Our tv had red speckles in it, but we weren't really watching it that much & I forgot to let them know about it. It would have been nice to have plastic cups for drinks or brushing your teeth, usually hotel rooms have these.
