it is close to main areas you can cover on walking distance. turning left from hotel will take you to the Central Park and 7th Avenue. turning right from hotel will take you to many attractions and Hudson River.

there were cockroaches in my room

this hotel was fantastic! i’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but i’m glad we took a chance on it. there’s no arguing that the rooms are a little tiny but it’s new york city, there’s really not much to do about it. the staff were exceptional and the check-in/check-out process was extremely smooth. free breakfast from 7-10am which is lovely, and there’s a decent variety of cereals, bagels, waffles, yogurts, etc. the hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from central park and there is a subway station just a few blocks away! we couldn’t have asked for a better stay on the upper west side, and certainly not at this price point! i hope you don’t let the negative reviews scare you into checking out a different place! give la quinta a chance :)

Storage of bags needs to be more secure for people Also, since there is Only one elevator it would be better if cleaning staff could wait till 11 AM to start changing rooms the elevator was extremely slow

Great place to stay. Very convenient location, subway stop just next street. Nice and helpful staff. The best thing was cleanliness, they did room service without asking. Breakfast was nice, can be improved with some variations in cooked menu.They also stored the luggage for us without any extra charge.

Nothing as such. Just the TV should have more channel options for diverse travellers.

Room card reader broken, had to get staff to open room. Only 1 elevator for both staff and guests--- I know not their fault, it's NYC. Spotty phone service in room, no problem with last stay.

Room was so small couldn’t walk around sink in bathroom with the bathroom door open. There was an open bottle of water left in the room and the bathroom window wouldn’t close all the way.

the location was excellent! one block from Central Park and the subway was a block away. the staff was friendly and very accommodating.

my room was tiny and drafty, but quiet. only one small elevator for use by both guests and staff so was a challenge at times.

The location is great!, everything was clean, quiet, good breakfast.

Elevator was incredibly slow

Compared to other hotels of the same range in NY, this is an excellent option in terms of price-value. Its location is perfect, less than a block from Central Park and a subway station. You are immersed in Manhattan but the area allows you to feel a little apart, mainly because you have Central Park a few steps away. It is a quiet area, its street is lined with picturesque residential buildings, and an avenue with many food options is nearby. One of its strongest points is the breakfast included in the price, which I found to be quite abundant and varied for NY: coffee, juices, breads, eggs, sausages, waffles, fruits, yogurt, etc. The staff was always friendly. My room was small, but unless you're staying in a high-priced executive luxury hotel, this is regular in NY, so it's totally fine for a short work or sightseeing experience.
