I had read reviews before I booked the hotel. Based on these reviews the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was very spacious, had a large comfortable bed, lots of storage space, a desk for me to work on, a coffee maker, a large window with a view and excellent working WiFi. Basically it had everything that a four star hotel provides, for a much more reasonable price. Cleaning the room would be done on request I was told. However, the cleaners often knocked on the door and ask if I wanted my room cleaned. I stayed 10 nights at the hotel. I will stay there again on my next visit. The price is right and the location is perfect for me. 6th Ave and subway stations are very close.

At first the hotel gives a not so clean impression. With time other things as mentioned above become more important. When buildings age they appear old and less clean. The above mentioned makes up for that.

The hotel was very nice and in good location. The room was good size and very clean, the bed was big and comfortable. We couldn’t open the window (11th floor) but the air conditioner was working good and we were adjusting the temperature as needed. It was a bit loud for a person without a habit to sleep next to an air con, but a pair of ear plugs fixed the problem. The room had black out curtain and it was very comfortable to sleep. The bathroom was nice and clean too. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had a access to plenty of bottled water on reception.

It would have been great if the room had a mini fridge, and women’s sanitary pads in the bathroom kit. Other than that everything was great.

The staff at the reception desk were brilliant from the time of arrival until the moment we checked out. I got an excellent deal so was expecting a basic room and was delighted when I found a spacious room with amazing views of Uptown NYC. We watched the Empire State Building lights every night. The room was just brilliant. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and gave the best recommendations for dinners and breakfasts out. SoHo 54 should be really proud of their staff. The location is excellent and a short walk in any direction puts you right in the Village or Tribeca. There is a Grocery Store and Pharmacy within 3-4 minutes of the hotel and most places we went out to eat were a 5-10 minute walk.

Due to staff shortages, the hotel didn't have a regular cleaning service but this could be requested and we didn't hold it against them as we weren't short of anything.

It was a great location. So close that I walked to the event I was attending. The hotel was elegant, neat and clean. The view was amazing. The shower room was made of tall glass walls to enjoy more great views of New York. The staff was very nice. And that penthouse suite upgrade was the best. I never had a room with a private balcony before, lol. Thanks again SoHo 54. Y’all really helped make my stay one happy day to remember.

Okay so the only thing I did not like was the fact that I couldn’t stay longer.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Hotel SoHo 54! The staff was incredibly pleasant and accommodating, making me feel right at home. The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to all the popular spots in Manhattan. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay, and considering the price, I found it to be a great value (maybe the best). I would highly recommend Hotel SoHo 54 to anyone visiting New York City.

it was absolutely great experience staying in SoHo 54. The weather was so bad, my father and me was searching something in the central of city for one night standing. In the next morning our train was canceled and servers said that we can stay and waiting so much time as we need! Dear servers, I wanna say big thank you! My father and me 100% sure that we will come back to NY city soon and of course I will book only that place, where I’m sure and where I can get the best service! it was beautiful Christmas night and it was great staying in SoHo 54! Thank you!

all was cool

The location is excellent - a lot of small cafes around, and nice apparel stores. The view from the number was excellent! I really enjoyed watching the sunrise & sunset right from bed. Especially I'd love to than the receptionist who changed my check-out time because I had a conference call ending at 11 and she was so kind to let me finish my call and leave the room afterward. What is also nice is that you can take as many bottles of drinking water at reception as you need.

There is nothing I didn't like really.

The location is great! Near great restaurants and stores. Easy to travel around town on the one from canal street.

The property definitely needs some love, it’s worn. The carpets in the rooms are beat and desperately need to be replaced. The bathrooms are outdated, there’s no counter space for products or a convenient place to put a toothbrush or a razor.

Even though i worried beforehand about the hotel due to some reviews, we had a great stay. When we asked if it was possible to get a room with a view (as it was my 12 year old's first visit to NYC) staff gave us a great room on the 17th floor. Yes, the furniture is very dated and there was no fridge in the room, but it was clean. Very helpful staff and free bottled water. Definitely very good value for money in NYC!

No fridge in the room and could not use coffee machine as could not be plugged in anywhere. Bar/,cafe was not open, nor the roof terrace (the latter due to work)
