Great location and price. Nice and clean room!

I did have to fix the toilet while there.

Great location, walking distance from the centre bars and eateries. Room was fine and well appointed. Floor to ceiling windows straight onto the walkway was odd but we just drew the curtains!. Breakfast was of the 'road trip' variety, good coffee, bagels cereals & yoghurt. There were 'Jimmy Dean' burgers also but the less said about them the better.....Staff very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool looked clean and nice but we didn't use it.

Good road trip stopover

The location and price was excellent. Knew this was an older property and 2.5 star rating. Was a little skeptical initially but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean but somewhat dated decor. Traveled with another couple for a weekend getaway. Extremely convenient to all downtown attractions. Would recommend with realistic expectations!

You can expect the usual downtown traffic noise, rooms open to exposed exterior hallways. Parking is very tight & limited. Staff was very helpful with nearby overflow parking which is validated by hotel.

My partner and I were amazed at how clean it was. Most ppl associate outdated buildings and reasonable low prices with less clean facilities. That is not the case here. Kudos to the housekeeping staff for not cutting corners and as a person who was in the cleaning business for years I know what to look for. We asked for a room on the 5th floor on the west side to catch the sunset and it did not disappoint. The beds were comfy, room had a small fridge and microwave which are a huge plus for foodies who come back with leftovers in a town known for its variety in cuisine. I would stay again and recommend this place to anyone with a budget but expecting a clean pillow to rest their head on.

Pillows were oddly small and the door access scanner on the side of the building was broken. Very inconvenient In negative degree weather and the quickest way to your room is having bc access to the side elevator.

The property is old but it’s clean, has free parking and is close to restaurants and stores. They offer a choice of breakfast items from 6-11. The staff is great.

The lobby is really cluttered with stuff that is piled up in corners, which was there two years ago when we came here and the furniture is really out dated. which makes you hesitant about what the rooms are like. The rooms are clean and comfortable but first impressions are important. They haven’t changed the rates of the rooms so I appreciate that but the lobby really needs a reboot.

I loved that the hotel was a 6 minute walk to Rabbit Rabbit, and there were a few restaurants and bars we walked to just a couple minutes away. The room was nice, 2 double beds, microwave and mini fridge, and the shower had great water pressure. We will definitely stay there again.

The TV in our room kept cutting out, and didn't work very well. But there's so much to do in Asheville, we didn't want to sit in the room and watch TV anyway.

The Downtown Inn was pretty much what I expected, nothing fancy but clean and EXCELLENT location. The front desk folks including Kamala were exceptional, very nice and very helpful. Hey it did not have bed bugs and it did have hot water.

The door to the pool wasn't locked and a homeless person came in, took off his clothes, (except briefs) jumped in the pool and then got right back out.

The staff was super nice and it is very clean for an older hotel. The price is incredible for the location. Super walkable for pretty much anything in the downtown area. The beds were very comfortable.

The people in the room next to me really loved some jazz cabbage. Not the hotels fault..lol. The coffee was pretty much hot garbage, but if that's the only fault, then it's not really a big deal. I would definitely stay here again and bring my own

location was great, I didn’t walk more than 15-20 minutes to get anywhere I wanted to go. very clean!! staff was very helpful and accommodating. helped me get some things printed. laundry on site, free laundry supplies.

little outdated. signage was hard to see, covered by trees. especially at night, wasn’t sure I was in the right place. small parking lot. they had overflow parking but you had to get pass and could only stay so long. so I parked there at four one day and was told I had to move it by 12 next day.

This hotel offers plain, good, clean lodging at an affordable price and in a wonderful, central location. Many shops, theaters, parks, restaurants, galleries, and other entertainment venues are within easy walking distance. (Walking and people watching are a big part of Asheville experience.) The building is a bit shabby and dated, certainly nothing fancy, but there's everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. On-site parking is free -- a bonus. There's a breakfast that compares favorably with those served in brand- name hotel chains, and it is available until 11:30 a.m. We will stay here again.

Nothing to be disappointed about. We knew we weren't going to a 4-star hotel.
