Lambuth Inn is a beautiful, historic inn located on the lakefront of Lake Junaluska. Walking up to the front entrance with its huge pillars and overlooking balcony felt like stepping back in time. The lobby area has several sections of quiet parlors with antique sofas & other furnishings. We chose a corner room with a lake view and were extremely happy with the expansive views from the large windows on both sides of the room. The staff person at check-in/out was very sweet and kind. We felt safe in the hotel & surrounding conference area. There are rocking chairs and benches everywhere for guests to relax in. A favorite spot was the 2nd floor covered balcony with rocking chairs - overlooking the lake. The inn faces the lake and mountains where you'll witness incredible sunsets. The garden area at the inn is delightful. It's called Inspiration Point and is a very quiet and meditative place to relax. Just across from the inn is a large cross and worship area that overlooks the lake. Easter sunrise service was especially beautiful - a bald eagle was sitting atop one of the trees nearby. The lake trail was wonderful! This paved trail meanders along the banks of the lake, passing flower gardens, shade trees, a gazebo, and benches for those who want to sit by the lake. We only walked a portion, but it circles the entire lake - crossing the dam, a wooden bridge, and passing by the swimming pool/kayak rentals, shops, church and the other hotel (The Terrace).

The Lambuth Inn is lakefront, but not really lake accessible. Keep in mind that you are in the mountains. There is a road and two very steep hills of thick brushes between you and the lake. You'll need to drive down the road to the public parking area where there is a lake trail. It's a bit inconvenient if you're not expecting it. The air conditioner in our room didn't put out a lot of cold air. Perhaps it's because the inn is older and our room was on the top floor (3rd) where the heat accumulates. Our trip was in April, so the temperatures were in the high 70s. If planning a trip for the summertime, you may want to ask for a room on a lower floor.

Location

Had issue with payment. I booked the 3 rooms the credit card was charged on 08/29 and we were arriving on 09/03. The staff could not revert the payments. We had to pay for all the 3 rooms. There was a charge of 10% for all the 3 rooms and all of us got an impression that their credit card was being charged. Created confusion amongst us. The hotel should have mentioned that they would charge early and not the usual practice of charging when the guests arrive. This was our first time experience!!!! Of payment earlier than when the guests arrive!

The location and views were spectacular. The area is very quiet and family oriented and slightly layered with unexpected Christian Faith and Values. I understand this is a common church group retreat area. Very nice get-away and place to connect with nature.

Our room was difficult in adjusting the temp and the bathroom door needs shortened slightly to eliminate the loud rubbing coming from the rubber threshold into the bathroom. It would be nice to see a little more attention given to the rear garden area facing our room.

This place has a lot of sentiment to us. We met here. The Lambuth Inn did not disappoint in comfort as far as the rooms go and overall appearance and location.

The fact they no longer have the dining services as they did back in the day. Miss that atmosphere of people gathering in for a meal. You have to go to the Terrace for breakfast and it was a bit pricey. We ate off the grounds in Maggie Valley.

We enjoyed our quiet, peaceful room. The staff (Amy) who welcomed us went out of her way to insure that our time was special. Lake Junaluska is a favorite place for our family.

Lengthen the lobby coffee service to 10:00 am on the weekends. We have no other suggestions for improvement. Thankful for this wonderful serene place.

Beautiful setting! The walk around the lake was so peaceful in the morning. My husband enjoyed talking to new friends while sitting in the rockers and watching a double rainbow. So relaxing.

While clean, the bathroom needed refreshing. You can only caulk so much! And it would’ve been nice to have a complimentary breakfast (so many hotels offer it; I’m a little spoiled!).

I loved the detail in the waiting rooms. the privacy of the property. The room and the bathroom was super clean. The staff could not have been nicer.

Our room didn’t even have a chair in it, there was a long bench, that space would have been better used for a desk and chair. No microwave. The bathroom was so small that it was was hard to turn around in. We paid for a lake view but there was a tree directly in front of our window that blocked the view.

The location is amazing if you love the scenic area with views of the lake and mountains that surround. The staff was super polite and helpful with information on local restaurants and things to do. Views from the room are unbeatable and worth the stay alone! Be sure to book a lake view room and ask for a corner room if you can! Also were got hit with a winter storm though the night and woke up at 530am to 3 inches of snow and the power is out. The hotel does has backup power for heat, hallway lights and thankfully for kids the TV. Also snowplows came through the parking lot to help.

Only 2 complaints are the beds are a little small for 2 adults but fine for the children, and unfortunately my wife killed a small roach in the bathroom.

Rare hidden star. Absolutely great location, the hotel building itself with stunning views. Comfortable beds with high quality mattresses and beautiful sheets. Lady at the front desk is so nice. Loved it! It’s so quite just birds singing.

Great location between Asheville and other tourist mountain towns. Peaceful lake neighborhood. Our timing was perfect between busy seasons. Staff was very polite and helpful. Very nice period decor to compliment the age of the hotel. Lobby and rooms were very clean.

Beds were a little uncomfortable and small for two people. No food options in the hotel, even for breakfast.
