Nicely Secluded. The lake and the facilities surrounding the hotel were beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. The hotel and surrounding area is a Methodist Christian Retreat Center.

Attempted any early check-in to which the front desk attendant was far from friendly or accomidating. She was a bit condescending toward me... for no reason. She was eating in the back office and I disturbed her. She said, come back at 4pm (it was 1230pm)... nothing about obtaining my number or calling me if a room became available. When I checked in around 5pm wasn't much more pleasant than the 1st.

The staff was very friendly. Everything was super clean.the extra lobby spaces for resting and viewing the lake were beyond our expectations... loved the gas logs. And the view and beauty of the lake was just breathtaking.

The breakfast was bland. Needed more bakery items, bagels, and English muffins. Cookies, and more variety of muffins... cream cheese and jelly for the toast... and every breakfast that I had been to so far always has yogurt. But did like how everything was spaced out and everything has its own little station.. hot items together, then the waffle, pancake station all to its self. Then the fruit and different juices... Crowd friendly... The rooms didn't have a microwave, was really surprised with everything else that it did have.

Breakfast was amazing! Location is absolutely beautiful with its stunning views! Room was as nice as any decent hotel, but staff and guests are way more friendly in this Christian atmosphere. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Wish I lived closer!

Finding a parking place within reasonable distance to the inn can be iffy, and rain didn’t help the situation. The very friendly front desk staff didn’t have much of a good solution, but that’s not their fault. The whole retreat area seems to be bursting with events during the summer. More parking for inn guests would be helpful.

The view was amazing! The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very kind and friendly. Breakfast was delicious.

Spiders and webs everywhere! We couldn't sit on the chairs on the balcony because they were full of spiders and webs. The view was amazing, but we had to deal with seeing through the spiders and webs on our windows. You could use the rocking chairs on the deck, but all of the window sills were full of spiders and webs. I was wondering if they were a protected species?

Loved the location. We walked around the lake in the morning and it was stunning. The halls were quiet and the view was great. Breakfast was amazing.

The bathtub/toilet area is really small but doable. Only 2 problems were that the bathtub was clogged and would not drain very well and we ran out of hot water. I notified front desk of tub clog in the morning and was told they would notify maintenance but it was still not fixed the next morning. Not a deal breaker but it was not a pleasant shower experience standing in ankle-deep water. I did notify them again at check-out.

This is in a very nice location, the staff was super friendly. They have a beautiful lounge and a nice terraces. Also you get a great view over the lake from the breakfast room. Tea and coffee available in the lobby at any time. In general good value, fair price.

Unfortunately, we got a room at the back left of the building where they have a couple of air condition facilities next to the hotel that were pretty loud. Since we were at the upper floor it was still okey (and we were tied enough to fell asleep anyway) but it was surely not optimal. My only other complain would be that the breakfast was lacking any healthy option. As this was a somewhat bigger buffet I was hoping to find something for me, for instance a simple oatmeal. They did have fruit though, but it was actually sugared. My suggestion: Provide some oatmeal, it's not expensive. And provide sugar separately, so that everyone can decide how much they want.

Affordable hotel with comfortable beds, relatively modern decor, fridge, etc.

There was a lot of buzz in the hotel among other guests about the lake being drained. There should be a notification about this on Booking when Lake Junaluska drains the lake. As regular visitors, we’ve seen the lake drained before and know this is an annual event, but they’ve drained it later in the year (March). It sounded like for some guests, an empty lake during the holidays was was a real bummer. Let people who are traveling here know what they are getting when the lake is drained—a marsh surrounded my beautiful mountains.

Best Location on Lake Junaluska. Upper floor rooms are updated and nicer. Breakfast is wholesome.

The Hotel has awesome facilities and amenities potential but some maintenance specially on exteriors like decks and balconies need improvement. A coin laundry facility on site would be a huge upside. Fruits at breakfast are primarily cut fruits, which is fresh and excellent but a whole-fruit option like bananas would be great too.

The breakfast was awesome, tasted really good, different selections, the staff in the cafeteria was ready to help out at anytime. The staff completely was really glad to see you, had coffee in the room, and in the lobby. The staff that worked around the lake was really nice, and you could tell they was having a blast being there. Let just say if you have a bad thing to say about this place you just wanted something to be bad.

Nothing.
