We loved everything about this place and the staff. I can't wait to come back. However I didn't know that there was going to be a hold on my first nights stay for two rooms. The way I understood the advertisement was no pay until you arrive. However over $200 was taken off my card before we three days before we got there . So I'm thinking no big deal I'll only have to pay for the second night. No that's not what happened they took the first night and the second night saying I would get the money that was already taken off back within seven business days. I was in panic mode because we live payday to payday and had made big sacrifices to be able to get away for two days. It took our money to get food to eat and gas back home so I had to reach out to family to wire use money to return home. If it had not of been for that everything would of been perfect just couldn't relax enough with that hanging over my head plus my husband was ill. In the future I will not use booking.com. here. I used them for a trip to another place in Chimney Rock several years ago and as the article said no prepayment required pay at place that what happened so I assumed the same thing this time but not so. Other than the booking mishap I recommend this place and I'll return one day when I'm able to, just want go through a booking can't afford to pay twice for one stay

The booking and hold on money

The rooms have ample space and include a kitchenette. We love the views, plus we always enjoy walking around the property near the stream and swings. Although we don't use the indoor pool, we think it's fantastic that it's open for guests all year. My fiancé and I always stay in the rooms with spa baths - we absolutely love them, sometimes opting for the spa/fireplace rooms. We love the beauty of Maggie Valley and Jonathan Creek's close proximity to all that Maggie Valley has to offer, plus the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cherokee. We appreciate that the rooms are clean and staff are always friendly and accommodating. Truly a charming and cozy place to stay.

We eat gluten free as I have Celiac disease, so offering some gluten free snacks for breakfast would be appreciated. I can't eat any of the food offered. Many hotels keep a small stock of individually wrapped gluten free muffins, breakfast bars, etc (and other foods for guests with dietary restrictions). But this is merely a suggestion, not a criticism.

I love the location being so close to the creek. I liked being able to sit on the balcony, although I could not see the creek I could still hear it. The coffee in the office was really good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The seating options by the creek are nice.

There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Also, the balcony door automatically locks when you shut it and the room key did not work to unlock that door. This left us no option other than to leave our balcony door open while sitting out there, letting a lot of flying bugs in the room. We were on the top floor, so getting locked out of the room and stuck on the balcony wasn't exactly an option. The coffee in the room wasn't good.

The property is located 10 minutes away from Cataloochee Ski. We have never been to Maggie Valley so I was a little worried about finding a decent spot. Boy was I wrong. Jonathan Creek was a gem and much better than big name brand chains. The rooms were clean, well appointed and updated. There was a mini fridge and microwave. We booked two creekview rooms with a covered patio and the sound of the creek was just very relaxing. Our kids took advantage of the heated pool after a day of skiing. This place is highly recommended!

We loved the entire place! I love the decor outside & inside. The staff was SUPER nice and welcoming. This is a very beautiful place and we plan on coming back:)

Our room was great but the hot tub was a bit outdated. It wasn't like the one that was pictured but still functioned well. The flooring in the hot tub is getting worn out too. I would also put some small patio tables out on the balconies so everyone has a place to put their drinks, cigs, Bible, etc...

The rooms are updated and clean. comes with the amenities you need. awesome screened in back porch. very private. location is everything.

parking lot is a little tight if you have a large vehicle. no free breakfast. city made them get rid of the hot tub. it was super nice when they had it. I hate that it’s gone. from 10 pm-1 am all we heard was slamming doors. car doors, room doors, stuff inside rooms banged around. it seemed like a ton of people showed up at those times which is odd because check-in was already closed. the noise kept us awake til around 2 am.

On everything about the inn the staff was very friendly and courtesy and they always had a smile on their face and very helpful and the inn is located at is very nice it has a creek running behind it and at night you can hear the creek running so when you lay down to go to sleep you hear that Creek running is very peaceful

I don't know if you wouldn't say I didn't like about it or you would say I would like to see a change made to it it was that none of the rooms had a kitchenette that was the only thing that was a little disappointing because I would like to come there and stay there for more than one day and when I save a place for more than one day I like to cook and if you would stay there for more than one day you couldn't cook anything that would be the only thing I said what I didn't like about it cuz I didn't have a kitchen yet other than that I love the place if you would give me a scale 1 to 10 and tell me to give yeah and a score out of 1 to 10 I would give it a hundred

Friendly staff, unique rooms with views of (and more importantly, sounds of) the creek in the back, along with a great bang for my buck made this a great jumping off point for me and my family's Smoky Mtn adventures. If you're looking for a base camp in the area to do a lot of things, look no further.

Let me preface this by saying they took care of things immediately when pointed out, but there was a blood stain on the pillow cover I had and was disappointed this was overlooked during cleaning. Also, I know smoking is common in those parts, but me and my family aren't smokers and late at night we'd frequently have to turn off our heat/AC vent so that it didn't pull in 2nd hand smoke in the evening while smokers sat out near our room on the porch. Yuck. Consider having designated smoking areas away from each room's ventilation so this doesn't happen.

it was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and the location was easy to access. The creek out back was amazing.

The room we were in had a rocking toilet. I told a member of the staff the first night but they didn’t fix it. As we checked out, I told another member hoping they would fix it. We were in room 110 and it’s right by the gazebo- we could hear a lot of loud talk and laughter in the evening.

Friendly staff, nice pool, great location. The restaurant next door is super convenient if you're on a bike and ready to just walk a bit. The creek out back is lovely and relaxing. The pond out front is a nice touch as well. The washer and dryer on site was so appreciated.

Everything gets locked up at 10pm. Can't get drinks or even ice. I did not like not getting my room cleaned daily and fresh towels in my room. The refrigerator was broken. Just barely kept things cool and it had an odor. I did request it be replaced but apparently they felt there was not a problem so it was not replaced. We still enjoyed our trip but it could have been a little better.
