Sunset Motel

we have traveled a lot. The customer service and cleanliness was better than any place we've stayed, in years! The room was perfect for what we needed and the manager was nice. Cutest little motel I've seen in years. We will definitely stay at Sunset again.

Nothing could of been better . It was obvious the owner and staff take pride in their business. From pleasant conversation to the cleanliness of the room and grounds. I felt like I stepped back in time when people were nice and accommodating to their customers. And the rooms and office didn't have a strong smell of spices, like most places have now a day's, even high end places.

Sunset Motel was the cutest 'lil place ever! We will definitely visit again when in the area. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. A combo of chic retro and staying at my favorite country relatives house, especially with the chenille bedspread! The entire place made me smile! In the morning we sat outside the room in the big red chairs drinking coffee while watched the day enfold then walked to town for brunch. Walking from the Sunset was a short walk to downtown shops, eats and drinks. 'Such a cute place!

THE SUNSET MOTEL IS AN ABSOLUTE HIDDEN GEM! SKIP THE HIGH PRICED "others"! This place is a 7 minute walk right up the hill to everything cool in downtown Murphy! There's a highly rated (but expensive) steakhouse, The Chop House, which is a 2-minute walk across the street. We stayed here at the Sunset Motel for New Years (2022-2023) to see our favorite band, BLISTUR, at Chevelle's!!!! (We drove from Orange Park, Florida TO WATCH THESE GUYS ROCK!) Terry was absolutely accommodating and super nice at check in. I talked to some locals about how cool this place is and they said they've heard great things about the renovation here..... And it's true! The walls have record album covers, classic cars pictures, and a peace sign right over the bed! The bed was so incredibly comfortable! We stayed in room 15. The TV was awesome and received so many channels! Air conditioning worked perfectly. The room was clean! You know you're welcome when you have cute, plastic pink flamingos right out front of your room, where you have your own individual parking spot. Even though they don't serve breakfast, there was an awesome little breakfast basket in the room complete with fruit and granola bars! The place seems remodeled with a 70s vibe. There's even a screened in porch where you can lounge around and read books. Also, there's an outdoor fire pit. During warmer weather, there are bicycles available for exploring! Again, you will not be disappointed with this stay here at the Sunset Hotel!

Always clean and incredibly cute and inviting. I stay here every time I’m in town. It’s a simple yet cozy place that is close to a ton of restaurants and stores and some night life. Old school hotel that feels brand new with the incredible maintenance. Adorable little fire pit seating area and cute porch areas. Free breakfast baskets in your room. It’s a very welcome alternative to these big institutional feeling hotels.

Always spotless. Friendly helpful staff. Their book with all the local eateries and such is helpful. They had cute little baskets with fresh fruit, muffins, and nature bars was perfect to grab and go. Let us check in after hours with ease. Overall perfect for what we needed and beds were comfy.

Wifi. Never could connect but I didn't ask because so technically my own fault. Parking is tight in bigger vehicles.

Sunset was extremely clean, convenient to everything we wanted to do. We stayed in the suite, which offered 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen), each had a television, dresser, night stand, and closet. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The living room had a large sectional sofa, electric fireplace, large tv, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and small dining table with 2 chairs. Bathroom had 2 sinks, and a large tile shower. We had a front outdoor sitting area, which was nice. The front office staff brought by 2 breakfast baskets filled with fruit and granola bars. Very spacious suite. Very impressed.

Sunset is a quirky roadside motel in the old style. Brightly painted on the outside in a hippy style. Positioned in a more historic looking part of Murphy it is very quiet but has plenty of independent places to eat nearby. Our final hotel/motel on our 30 day roadtrip of 3000 miles and it capped off our holiday memorably. Only 2nd place I took photos of !!

This classic motel is nicely updated and very clean. I appreciate these motels that have been well maintained. Each room has its own dedicated parking space right in front of the room. The location is quiet, near downtown and it's a short walk to the Murphy River Walk trail, good for a peaceful morning stroll. The king bed was so comfortable that we we would like to know the mattress brand. Our main area of interest was Brasstown, an easy 10 minute drive from Murphy. Other items: very good hand held shower, a quiet HVAC located in the rear so that it does not blow on the bed and doesn't make noise in front of the room, good quality multi-ply TP instead of the cheap one layer stuff that even pricier hotels supply, a real blanket instead of one of those thick-ass all-in-one overstuffed comforters that seem to be all the rage in hotels - this is not a complete list but you get the idea. The management has put a lot of thought into making this place comfortable, not fancy, just homey and nice.

The breakfast basket was a unique treat with good food options. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Location was perfect for walking around downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Neighbors in other rooms were loud outside the door/window. And although the hotel was non-smoking in the rooms, that didn’t seem to stop people from smoking in the screen porch area or close by.

THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. LOVED THE BREAKFAST BASKET. VERY QUIET. VERY COMFORTABLE. PARKING SPACES WERE CLEARLY MARKED THAT MATCHED YOUR ROOM NUMBER SO NO PARKING QUESTION.

FOR THIS STAY I WAS VERY PLEASED AND IMPRESSED. IF IT IS NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT.THE NEXT TIME I AM IN THAT AREA I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. NO NEED TO SHOP AROUND WHEN THIS IS A CLEAN QUIET PLACE.
