Enjoyed conversations with Russell and Jim and the quality of the food at breakfast. My wife and I both commented on the way home that a pad should be put in the tub so the person taking a shower is less likely to slip and fall. I almost fell our second morning there when my foot slipped when I first go into the tub, but I was able to stay upright. Also our first night there the motion sensor in the ceiling affected our sleep and it was too late to call Jim or Russell. The slightest movement in bed (such as changing which side I was sleeping on) caused it to come on. We did not have to get out of bed for it to come on. Perhaps let guests know about this feature and see if they feel a need for it. I had never seen such a motion sensor before and was not sure why the light kept turning on. That said, we hope to come again and it was overall a good experience. Jim did stop the sensor from coming on during our second night.

Nestled in the little town of Rutherfordton, NC is a beautiful B&B that meets all expectations of hospitality. The rooms are beautifully preserved and loaded with history. The inn-keepers, Jim and Russell, make you feel that you have just joined a Hallmark family for the duration of your stay. A real pleasure was experiencing the gourmet breakfast served every morning; they were always pleasing to the eyes and stomachs!

Jim and Russell are impeccable hosts who care deeply about building relationships with their guests. This was our second time staying here. Carrier House is a classic, charming, and relaxing B&B with positive energy and amazing breakfasts! A wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate!

Great stay there, beautiful old home lots of history. Very well appointed great central location to restaurants and the downtown. Breakfasts were outstanding much better than having to go out and way way better than chain hotel complimentary breakfast. Russell and James are wonderful hosts, we look forward to returning

Shower was a little confining but it is an old house that did not even have plumbing so it required a smaller shower stall, it was tight but I easily able to take a shower. So I guess really nothing negative to say at all

The owners were very hospitable and gave us historic facts about the property. Each guest room has a theme. I found that to be very neat! Breakfast was absolutely delicious and unique. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Carrier House Inn.

Menu items served were delicious, stupendous, gourmet delicacies. The cuisine justifiably excellent by way of the special attention and detail given the place settings.

We are convinced that the only problem we had, possibly, was the closing and locking of the bathroom door. This door problem definitely needs looking into.

Quaint, charming, clean accommodations with courteous,friendly, helpful, professional hosts who provide a breakfast worthy of a first class restaurant!

Prefer firm mattress with cushions and firm foam pillows… but that’s just my preference.

I arrived very late in the night and the host was gracious and accommodating. The room is beautiful and comfortable with a private bath room. Having breakfast in the lovely garden on a glorious morning with delicious fruit cup of local fruit and fresh picked mint from their garden. Can't wait for the main course, it smells delicious!
