Comfort Inn Mount Vernon

Person who checked us in was very nice. Most other staff was nice. One lady was not so friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Pool was nice. Sheets were very soft and silky. Shower had excellent pressure but it was hard not to make a mess everywhere.

Washer was out of service that was a bummer. No workout room. No hot tub. They were still following covid protocol so they don't service your room unless you're saying for three nights which we were not privy to although there was a letter on the desk that we failed to read. So we were a little annoyed when our trash was an emptied and we didn't have no towels on the second third days but we survived.

The receptionist was very personable to a couple of moms traveling with a high school golf team. When we checked in she gave us the team room rate which was better than what we booked online — SCORE! She gave us advice on where to eat dinner at a late hour and let us leave "goodie bags" on the counter for the players. Breakfast was good for this type of hotel (small, a bit outdated).

The room was a bit dark. Seemed clean enough but my son said his room smelled very musty so he ended up staying in my room with me. The wood headboards were splattered with something that looked like water marks — we tried to clean them with Lysol wipes (I don't leave home without them) but it didn't come off. Hopefully they were marks from a furniture polish. The entrance to the parking lot was difficult to figure out as it was on a oneway street. The entrance door to the lobby was also not immediately visible, but it was in fact under the overhang.

The breakfast was fresh and well attended by staff. Our room was quiet and comfortable.

The head board on the bed looked like it had something sprayed on it? Dirty appearing. The safety hand bar in the shower was broken, pulled away from the wall. As we were checking out, there was a man with his dog in the hall and it defecated on the floor! I was glad I was leaving at that point.

The hotel is right on the Heart of Ohio & Kokosing trail connection. We bring the grandkids to town to ride the Heart of Ohio trail to the Ariel Foundation park one day, then the Kokosing trail to Gambier to see steam engine #63 and caboose the next day. The Music & Art Festival is a fun way to spend the afternoon in between. Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed.

The pool was closed for repair.

Staff was great, helpful and friendly. Clean comfortable room. Had a wheelchair room the bathroom was easy to navigate and the bed was a good height also

staff was so friendly and helpful. My first time to Mt Vernon, she is so proud of her town. She had many ideas for us to do!

It snowed in the evening and the next morning it was very icy in the parking lot and sidewalk. We checked out at 10:30. an employee was standing outside by the door and 3 bags of salt and said be careful it’s very slippery. They never salted and they had plenty of salt sitting there!

This is an excellent place to stay when biking on the great rail trails in the area. Right on the trail, very clean, staff is friendly and helpful, decent breakfast. There were at least half a dozen other bicycling groups there on the night we stayed.

The price seemed high, but that’s because it was the Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend.

There is problem with homeless person hanging around the area. I was approached by two different individuals asking for a hand out and it made us feel extremely uncomfortable to go out of the building during our stay. We would go to our car right away to avoid being approached by these people.

Everyone was so gracious to cyclists. Helpful with bike storage, close to the trail and easy walk into town. Comfortable and clean accommodations. Breakfast offered everything we needed.

Toilets were a little low, but fine for us.

The the front desk to the cleaning staff were truly helpful and accommodating to are requests. They were friendly and were easily engaged. The breakfast was pretty standard, but had a lot of variety. The location was perfect for walking, running or biking because it is located right by a beautiful greenway.

It was a little surprising that it cost 50.00 a night for our dog. we didn't expect that charge for each night.
