The front desk asked if I wanted to be on the top or bottom floor without me having to ask, or just picking for me without a conversation like a lot of places do. It was convenient to get to retail stores as needed (pretty much anything you memes is only 10 mins away), it is directly across the street from a Black Bear Diner, and just around the corner is the last Blockbuster Video ever! It was surprisingly modernized which I never expect from places at this price range. Even though it was on a busy corner I didn’t even notice traffic noises and I’m usually very sensitive to that. My favourite thing ever was that the hot water in the shower lasted FOREVER. It was dreamy.

Being on a busy corner made it a bit difficult to get out if you need to go anywhere during your stay. Not impossible but definitely busy. The bathroom smelled weird but it wasn’t overwhelming, just noticeable. The TV was pretty static-y on most channels but that could have just been an electronic issue in my specific room.

The room was very clean and spacious. At the registration office, there is a sign indicating to let the hotel know immediately if the room is not clean. I see the hotel takes guests' comfort and cleanliness seriously. I loved the hardwood/laminate floor that keeps it clean. Comfortable bed. My room was away from the road on the second floor and was very quiet. Security cameras outside and feel safe. The room had a small microwave, a coffee maker, a fridge, a TV, and two smart bedside lamps that you can plug in USB and a regular 2-prong plug. I was comfortable staying there for many nights. Good location - near Albertson's, famous Dandy's drive-in, and other places. The price per night was very good, too.

Nothing I do not like about the hotel. Some guests ignored the sign of no smoking and the smell of smoke would come into our room.

The property from the outside looks like a previously run down “no tell-motel” that had a family intervention. It’s got a fresh coat of paint and some rich colors in their signage… a desert oasis in the distance, or a mirage? Once you are in your room, you realize the intervention was a success because I felt like I was in Palm Springs, or even Vegas. A lot of fine details that you might actually miss if you weren’t paying attention. The one KEY COMPONENT for me, was the ability to sign into my streaming services or cast my phone at no additional charge. I feel like this should be something every spot should have along with free Wi-Fi. I can’t think of ever getting a better cost to value deal on a room, ever. Bend is not a cheap place to visit. The end.

Mostly I didn’t like the very aggressive management, which I assume are family and also the owners, but the first contact I had with them was a text through the booking’s site informing me that I must have X,y,and Z ready upon check in , and a pretty exhaustive list of common things that j don’t feel needed to be aimed blindly at a client they haven’t yet seen nor spoken to. I get it… the bad apples that ruined the bushel. But, save the talk for when it’s deemed necessary.

Desk attendant upgraded us to the jacuzzi room, which was so nice. It's basically a honeymoon suite in its own building, with a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower, with a very large bathroom sink counter with drawers. The room was decorated very prettily, and the bed had a pink velvet cover and pillow shams. Very cute. The tv, refrigerator, and microwave all had specific cubbies a large wall unit against the bathroom wall.

The only thing we had issue with was the total lack of closet or hanging hooks to put shirts, coats, dresses. It was a little puzzling! There was the ironing board that was hung on the wall, so we could iron anything that needed it. If even just a bar with a few hangers were available, that would help a lot, or a row of hooks.

Our room at The Dunes was clean, updated and pleasant, and the location is very convenient. Bed was fairly comfortable, and temperature control worked well. No complaints at all.

Keep in mind that the motel is located along a busy avenue/highway, so the road noise is unavoidable. The motel's rate seemed high for the level of the place, but I understand they are in line with their market. Bend is a great place but too expensive to visit as much as we'd like.

I was pleasantly surprised by this motel. It's clean, comfortable, and seemed to be renovated recently. The man who checked me in was very nice too. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I would definitely stay here again.

The room rates seem to change drastically. I paid $89 for one night. When I looked for a future date I'll be in Bend it's $249 for the same room. My review is based on the $89 rate. This is not a $200+ dollar room.

The Staff was respectful and considerate towards my needs. They priced matched. They responded to any requests I had with courtesy and no issues, appreciate that. The location is across the street from a nice little diner. The bed is comfortable.

The room has carpet and the carpet looks and smells like it hasn't been deep cleaned or steam cleaned/ shampoo'd in a many years. The bottom of my new slippers turned pitch black from walking on the carpet. I don't think it's the fault of room service because the maids do an excellent job of cleaning and prepping the room. I don't think it's the fault of the desk help either. They are very nice people to deal with, always helpful and kind to any request. Maybe just a chore of management or owners that has been overlooked? Anyway, good place to stay, besides the carpet.

We were very thankful for the way this Motel turned out for us...the room was taken care of exceptionally well...little things like fanning out the towels....folding the toilet into a point ...the bed was made by someone who cares....all of these things point to respect and concern for their guests...the price was icing on the cake ....the location is very convenient....the man at the desk was warm and greeted us with care......thank you all for this kind of care for your business.

Room 112 Had all the things you would expect; shampoo/conditioner, soap, coffee pot, microwave, little fridge, and hair dryer. It was the little touches that made the stay very nice; 3 queen beds, body lotion, vanilla creamer for coffee, nicely decorated, super clean interior/exterior, and pretty quiet for being on a busy road.

In my opinion, the beds were very, very firm. So much so that it made for a rough night and slow start to the following day. Unless you prefer a solid bed this room may not be for you.

Was clean; bed was comfortable; linens were fresh and clean; good location; easy walk to downtown Bend along scenic Deschutes River. Good value.

Could use more hanging space for clothes. Also, this was second motel to not supply hangers. Would be nice to even have cheap wire hangers (from dry cleaners) or provide some for a dollar more or as deposit for return.
