Hyatt Place Eugene/Oakway Center

The room was beautiful and spacious. We had a nice sitting area along with 2 queen sized beds. The bathroom was clean and spacious with a walk in shower and glass doors. Despite being in a busy location with a mall and busy arterial, our room was very quiet. The room also had a nice closet and large dresser. Coffee maker and refrigerator made it very attractive.

The parking and check in process was confusing. The hotel parking being gated off required us having to park on an alternate level, walk back to the street level then ride an alternate elevator to the main lobby on the 5th floor. After checking in and getting our room key, we had to go back down to the street level and take an alternate elevator to our car then using the card key, we were able to get into the hotel parking lot. This was crazy!!

Breakfast was good. room was very modern and clean. The sky bar was excellent with great staff and with the addition of food experience made for a great stay.

The checkin process was a little onerous as the hotel was on the top 3 floors so when arriving by car we had to find parking on the 4th floor before checkin. There was very little information on how to access the parking area when first arriving. Also during our stay, one of the lifts was out of service and the heavy traffic on the remaining lift made for a long wait, making the use of stairs a preferred option.

Breakfast was good. The pool was immaculate and clean.

There is no microwave in the room?? Even the worst 2 star hotels have microwaves. Cmon Hyatt... The breakfast coffee is among the worst I have had. It is reminiscent of army coffee, which is watered down folgers. It is seriously that bad.

Everything was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. All the people were very nice, and breakfast was quite a spread.

I didn't like the frosted glass bathroom door and automatic light. As someone who makes midnight trips to the bathroom, I'm accustomed to doing so in the dark partly so I don't wake my companions. Having the light come on unexpectedly - especially when I thought I had disabled the sensor earlier in the night - was jarring and unpleasant.

Room was clean with a nice view of city . The lobby and bar area was nice and inviting. Lobby staff friendly when checking in and out. Location is excellent, with nice eating establishments close.

Elevator was not as clean as previous visits. Breakfast area was not cleaning . Tables dirty. Had to ask for plates both mornings. Breakfast selection was excellent with all the selections to choose from.

The room was clean and well-organized. The food and drinks were good and the staff at Sky Bar were outstanding. The ability to take our dog everywhere on the property was convenient and fun.

Air conditioning in our room was unmanageable, even with support from maintenance. Jesse at the front desk needs more training. He didn't know we needed a permit to park our vehicle in the surface parking lot rather than the garage. His responses to inquiries seemed defensive, rather than helpful. $75 fee for dog was not disclosed to us prior to booking. The bed initially seemed very comfortable but was too soft, resulting in backaches.

The hotel has a great location close to shops and restaurants with a Starbucks across the parking lot. Staff is always extremely friendly.

The complimentary breakfast is terrible. Scrambled eggs and sausage in a cardboard box under a heat lamp. Uuggg With a full bar with food and all of the other restaurants operating at full capacity, there’s no excuse for that kind of complimentary breakfast. We choose hotels with a family of 5 with free breakfasts (paying for it in the higher rates of course) so having to get up and leave the hotel to eat breakfast out is costly and annoying.

The room was nice and quiet. Swimming pool and jacuzzi were very nice as well. Staff was friendly and welcoming, also available to solve issues.

Breakfast was OK. What I didn't like is that you have your coffee in paper cup instead of a proper one. Also, plates were plastic. Considering the standard of the hotel, I would have expected attention to those details.

Very beautiful location, great bed, clean, wonderful amenities (i.e. pool and hot tub were perfect temperatures), very accommodating staff.

Would have been great to have omelets and hash browns vs. potatoes served.

Loved how professional and friendly the staff was, loved the breakfast in the boxes, Liked the bar open to bring a drink back to the room. Room was spacious and clean. Conveniently located off freeway and next to great shopping!

Very difficult to maneuver luggage from parking garage up to elevator to 5th floor to check in. Toiletries in bathroom seemed below standard and small. One small tube of shampoo for two people to share. Need to bring your own toiletries! The price was higher than staying in Big cities.
