The breakfasts were very delicious and gourmet. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was close walking distance to downtown restaurants. The grounds were beautiful and a good place to sit and have conversation.

The train tracks were a couple blocks away, and the train whistle sounded multiple times as it approached town and went through town all during the night. It was very loud and woke me up. There was no regular staff at the reception desk, and the young woman who checked us in did not give us much orientation. We didn't know there was a refrigerator in the room in a closet. Cleaning was not immaculate.

The location was charming, the staff very kind and helpful. The cookies and wine in the evening were delicious, as were the warm breakfast scones, and the landscaping on the grounds was gorgeous. Our room was clean and comfortable, the beds and bedding were very good. Our last two stays in Eugene were at more chaotic locations, near busy streets and with sketchy parking lots, so this felt like an oasis of calm.

The breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed, and the waffles were leathery. If I'd know that the room I'd booked was right next to the dining area, I'd have asked for another one, as it got quite noisy outside our room after 7 a.m. and we are not early risers. A shortage of power outlets is expected at a historic house but the main one available in our room (next to the bed) had strangely loose receptacles, so everything we plugged into it would fall out.

Historical, beautiful

There were several times I was completely ignored for breakfast. I think staff was new? Mickie and a male staff member were great. But just asking for them to come to my table when they were ready and when they asked if I wanted a refill on juice: they asked me, but never brought it. I don’t know if it was where I was sitting, but I was totally invisible. I waited patiently (over 25 min at one point) because I wasn’t in a hurry, but I had to get up and wait outside the kitchen to ask for service several times.

The grounds were stunning, immaculately kept. The house itself was great. Well cared for, quality furniture, carpeting, and bathroom fixtures. The people were all friendly and accommodating. They were able to allow us a slightly early checkin which we needed so we could prepare for an event we were attending later that evening.

Another guest arrived late, around 2am, and was very loud settling into their room. It was disruptive enough to wake us both up. Then at about 3am, and again at 4am, trains came through town and blew their horns the whole time, waking us up for a second and third time. We were never warned about this by the staff so it was unexpected. If we come back again, we will try to arrange dates so as to avoid the overnight train noise if possible. Lastly, I understand supply and demand, but charging $555 for one night was exorbitant.

Breakfast was very good and very nicely served. I particularly enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful gardens. Location was very good; with in walking distance to downtown, the cultural center, the train station, etc.

My room did not have a comfortable chair or any place to write, like a small desk. Sound of nearby train was disturbing at night in my room.

We stayed at the Campbell House for the World Championships. The house was wonderful! Check in was very easy and we all enjoyed the cookies! Staff was very friendly! Our room was perfect for our family of four and dog! Our breakfasts were always delicious and we enjoyed the patio and music. The house is located within walking distance to shops and restaurants and the park along the river. Our boys happily said, “every time we come to Eugene we have to stay here”!

The house was immaculately decorated and maintained, The grounds were well maintained and had several outdoors seating for guests to maintain distance and comfort. The staff were friendly and amazing. It was a very quaint and cute house.

The rooms were fairly small, but we were only there one night so it was fine.

I love the location and how it’s cozily tucked away, yet still in the heart of the city. Their free breakfast is also another major, contributing factor as to why I usually pick them over a different stay. And I appreciate the fact that they do allow pets to stay as well, as most properties don’t seem to allow this. It really makes a difference! LASTLY. It’s their exceptional staff that always amazes me and keeps me coming back each time. They are some of the best I have encountered in regards to their service. Always having a friendly and attentive welcoming demeanor. They are very accommodating to each of their guests requests and treat each customer with their genuine and caring respect! I very much appreciate that about the atmosphere, as I find it harder and harder to come by. So thank you!!! Keep up the great work! ~Ss

It would be a bit more of a leisurely experience if they would change their check out time to 12:00 o’clock noon, instead of at 11:00. That would be my only change!

Lots of extra plusses during our stay: pleasant and super accomodating staff; neat to downtown eateries & entertainment; relaxing lounge to entertain in-town friends; encouragement and outside dining for yummy brunch with friends; and the Skinner Butte path right behind the property, just beyond lovely, on-property gardens!

NOT a "not like," but because it's historic, not enough places for lighting outlets, and plug-ins.

The breakfasts were wonderful, and the vegetable hash possibly one of the best breakfast I ever had. Thank you so much.

The breakfasts were wonderful, and the vegetable hash possibly one of the best breakfast I ever had. Thank you so much. Would have liked a quiet area with comfortable sofas for reading, but maybe there was one and we did not find it.
