La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Amarillo Mid-City

The room was nice and clean, the bed was just right...not to hard, not to soft. As for the breakfast it was adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful in many ways. There was also a Dennys Restaurant located within walking distance, which was very handy also.

We were not able to make a reservation beforehand so we were not able to get a handicapped accessible room. This made it a little hard for my husband to navigate the room because there was a chest of drawers between the front door and the bathroom, which left very little space between the chest of drawers and the 2 double beds.

Not that it was any fault of the property but upon returning for the night some other guests were sitting on the stairway smoking weed. It was very strong - I had to walk right by them and just felt uneasy doing so. They did not bother me or engage me whatsoever. The other concern was that the shower/tub was very slow to drain. I did relay this information to the desk clerk upon check out.

The walk-in shower was a real treat. Conveniently located by Denny's and other resturants within walking distance. Check-in and out a breeze. Great place for a tired traveler who needs some rest. The refridgerator, microwave, and air conditioner worked perfectly. The bed and pillows were comfy. I felt safe (as a retired State of Texas Investigator) and I would know.

Nothing. My travel companion heard truck and car noises. I drove and was exhausted so the train in the distance that I heard was reastful and soothing.

The location was perfect for our needs. Beds were comfortable, the room size was adequate. Easy to get there and easy to find. Appreciated the fewer house cleaning visits since we were there for 4 nights. Overall, the visit was great!

The noise from the renovations in the middle of the afternoon made it hard to rest/nap. The breakfast offerings were not what I was expecting, ended up walking over to the restaurant for breakfast. The baseboards were very dusty and there were several light bulbs not working.

it was cold outside and the shower glass door was placed incorrectly so you had to step inside, turn on the freezing water and wait till it warmed up. placed a small wash cloth over the shower head and waited for the water to warm up. shower door needs to be turned in opposite direction to allow to turn on shower to warm up then step inside. easy fix.

We enjoyed the friendly staff, easy check in, comfortable beds. Gina I believe her name is was very helpful when we arrived. We didn't catch the gentleman's name at check out but he was very tentative to our questions and needs as well. Linens were clean, towels were stocked, television worked excellent. Overall great ,comfortable stay.

Didn't like all the negative reviews we read. Speaking on our experience only. We really couldn't understand because our room 161 was very clean and up to date.

I like the free coffee and juice. The room was dated but I spoke to a woman who was telling me about the plans to update all the rooms and create a nice breakfast area. So I look forward to coming and staying again. I was here visiting my father so I will be back.

The only thing that really bothered me was that I had to hunt the maids down. If we were in the room they would never knock to give us fresh towels or toilet paper. I always had to go looking for them or end up asking for things at the front desk at the end of the day. Also I did not have a blanket on my bed and was told by the lady at the front desk that they were on backorder.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean

The only thing I can complain about is that the room could be updated for as having charging ports but other than that and a fresh coat of paint that's it.

The breakfast bar was outstanding, and the lady maintaining it was great!

Our only complaint is the $25 fee for our dog is way to much! Other places we stay only charge $10. We left no mess and you could not tell that a dog was ever in our room!

I liked all the restaurants being in the parking lot of the hotel. Easy to feed the kids after checking in with not a lot of driving

the directions to the room were not clear. it’s a large property and the front desk person wasn’t clear on her directions
