We liked the location - near museums and park. The arty decor and outdoor dining, the spaciousness of the room, the high pressure shower and comfortable mattresses were all pluses. Great service from Tray at the concierge desk.

While fun and funky, the hotel feels due for a refurbishment. The carpet and paintwork look tired. The unusually low lighting - though atmospheric - was inconvenient in the room. We stumbled in the dark trying to find the lift after checking in. Service in the restaurant was patchy- at times awkward and slow. Some more training needed here. We missed having a hot drink making facility in the room. However, we would stay here again.

A classic Houston hotel with interesting decor, clean rooms, and serviceable amenities in the heart of Houston. The complimentary coffee and tea every morning and “surprise” afternoon snack in the lobby are nice touches. The coffee was very good. Shower pressure was excellent, especially for an older hotel. Pool area is a nice space to sunbathe or take a quick plunge. There’s a small gym off to the side which was small but fine.

We couldn’t get room service one night. Normally not a big deal but we were visiting M.D. Anderson so Ubering outside wasn’t an option. The complimentary car service within 3 miles is nice. Not too long a wait for a full hotel when we were leaving but pickup was never an option. No one picked up the phone. The restaurant is serviceable. Good brunch but the lunch and dinner options are fairly average. Alcohol is overpriced across the board but booking direct through the hotel, you get a couple of free drinks daily and breakfast which is a good value. Booking.com had good deals.

It was a perfect location for my needs. The train was right there, so we could take it to the stadium. We were in town for a football game. It was also perfectly located for the ghost tour I purchased which started in Hermann Park directly behind the hotel. The morning coffee buffet is wonderful, and right outside my door. The view from my balcony was breath-taking! something I've always wanted. The valet service was wonderful. The valet staff was friendly and extremely helpful and very pleasant. The shuttle service was a wonderful plus, very convenient. The night manager was very helpful in finding local points of interest. The hotel restaurant was great. We had delicious room service as well as dining in. I loved the afternoon cookies, they were delicious! I love fountains and I was very pleasantly surprised to see the Mecom fountain right next to our hotel. The pool area is gorgeous! Wish we were having warmer weather during my visit to use it. The area is called the museum district and I wish our stay was longer to be able to see some of them. The hotel was perfectly located to see all of them. Hermann Park is beautiful! I hope to come back someday with our granddaughter to see the Houston Zoo. My stay was wonderful!!

I loved the facilities, cleanliness and location of the hotel, as well as the kindness of the people that works there. They are professional and attentive to the needs of their guests.

The car that they offer to move around is not always available. They ask to be 30 min before waiting to ensure the ride, but since it only covers places nearby, maybe they could have more than 2 of them to ensure comfort of their guests. Each time, even 30 min before I had to take an uber because it was super complicated to ensure a ride. Also, there's no available staff in the pool since very early in the day. By 17:00 hrs the bar was closed and there was no one available to ask for anything. I noticed three couples concerned about the same thing. However, the bar is serving cocktails since 10am when only few people was asking for them. They need 2 different teams (morning and afternoon) to attend.

The bed was super comfortable, the room was clean and quiet. I slept very well in this hotel. I loved the coffee and tea service down the hall and the flavored water in the lobby. The fitness room was great too, with Peloton equipment where I could use my subscription seamlessly.

The stay was a bit pricey, but actually it was worth it. The cushions on the outdoor furniture by the pool were not too comfortable.

I visited Houston primarily to tour its museums, particularly the Rothko Chapel and Menil's Twombly collection. ZaZa was wonderful, and not only because all of the many museums are within 25 minute strolls. I appreciated my room's balcony view, all of the staff, especially housekeeping (I am sorry I forgot to leave a tip), and the food and drinks at the Monarch, at whose bar one could watch the Astros beat up the Yankees in good company. This Minnesotan can't forget to mention his delight in the 85° mid-October temps -- and ZaZa's pool.

Nothing I didn't like.

I love the location right by the park and museums. The restaurant is good and it’s a very pleasant to sit at, especially when its warm and they open the windows. They design of the hotel is fun. They had coffee at every floor in the mornings beverages and snacks at the lobby in the afternoon which was very pleasant.

The design is nice but they haven’t renovated the building. Things are a bit old. The carpet looks too old. The staff was a little intrusive. They were knocking at our door on check out day while we were dressing up just to ask at what time we were checking out.

Cleanliness butifull hotel conveniently located to the museums and rice village

The hotel restaurant is good, but their menu doesn't change. After a three week stay, I was basically eating the same things. The hotel shuttle takes you up to 3 miles, which is great, but you would often have to wait 25 minutes and feel like you were bothering them .

Quiet, comfortable, great gym, loved the "butler's pantry" for morning coffee,. The pool and bar was very chill and not over crowded. We booked it, 100% for the location and it did not disappoint. We could walk to EVERYTHING in the museum district, zoo and rode the tram everywhere else. The staff provided complimentary bottled water daily. It was a great stay.

The beds were small. I didn't love the selection of snacks; they are pretty upfront about no outside food and have in room snacks, but there was very little gluten free. Our breakfast server was really bad, I kind of felt bad for her. She messed up the omelets differently every day and we never got more than a half cup of coffee.

Delicious breakfast— huge portions and lovely restaurant with pretty lights at night.

Initially put in room over air conditioning and no view so they kindly moved us— 7th floor much better. Pool had no water till last day and unheated. Very dark hallways. Excellent coffee on each floor in morning. Very nice maids.valet cost 90.00 for two days. Safe though expensive. Close to natural history museum.
