The location is fantastic for downtown Houston. There is parking garages nearby where you can leave your car overnight. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

The pool hours are odd - 8am to 8pm. It would be nice to have the pool open until 10. The pool is smaller than you think based on the photos, and packed. We stayed two nights and the room wasn’t cleaned even though we left before noon and came back in the evening. The walls can be a little thin. We had a couple arguing next door for hours and that wasn’t the most pleasant. The cost for valet parking is more than double what the parking garage across the street will charge you.

The location was perfect, the view was amazing, and room was to die for.

I reserved the room for $195/night, but was charged $245/night.

There were NO Recycle Bins in the room or anywhere in the hotel.

Loved the view of my corner room! The location as great, parking was convenient, staff was fabulous! The hotel was secure after dark and the desk is staffed at all hours. The hotel has a gorgeous pool area and a very nice spa. The room was amazingly quiet and the other guests were respectful and pleasant. It truly was a memorable stay.

I had paid $100 as a surcharge for incidentals which was to expected but after checkout I was made aware of an additional $100 to be taken on hold to pay toward the balance of my valet and if there were additional charges for food or additional services on the bill. That hold didn't release for 4 days. Bottom line: It felt disingenuous as if my money were no object. I'd rather just pay balances off and be sufficiently informed of how charges are assessed up front.

Beautiful space and well designed. The pool is gorgeous as well.

My credit card was hacked after we stayed at this hotel. This was the last place I paid with my credit card and someone took the card out of sight. Not saying it was or was not this hotel, but it's very very odd. The hotel is great but I don't know that I trust them.

From the moment we pulled up to the Laura, we knew we'd booked the right hotel. This was our first boutique hotel stay and we didn't know what to expect. It was EXCEPTIONAL!! The valet clerks, Sybastian and the rest of the staff, made sure we knew that the hotel was 5 stars and we should expect nothing less. They patiently waited to open and close our doors. My husband had to get used to them opening his door:) They made the experience worth the money we spent to valet. When checking in, Matt greeted us with a warm smile. He was the most delightful front deskman I've ever encountered. My husband is pretty particular when it comes to hotels so we asked Matt if we could see the room before checking in. Matt was more than accommodating, making sure we were satisfied. Never once did he seem agitated or bothered by our requests. The room was AMAZING! Executive, corner room with all the bells and whistles!! Room was modern, immaculate, the bed was comfy, and the walk-in shower and toilet closet were super clean. The room was equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We couldn't have had a better stay anywhere in Houston! We've stayed in many places but this hotel has surpassed them all. The bar has been set very high and I don't think we will stay anywhere that's not compatible to the Laura.

Valet parking was quite expensive. It was enough to raise an eyebrow but not enough to be a deterrent. The service and our overall stay made up for the cost.

Property is pristine clean and comfortable. The staff (everyone from valet, guest services, cleaning and restaurant/bar, etc.) was kind, considerate and welcoming, making sure our stay was wonderful. That hospitality really puts this hotel in a top tier.

I would’ve appreciated a mini-fridge and easily accessible ice machine. The hotel does seem to be going through some improvements as it’s only been open 6 months.

The rooms are well appointed, but it's a new hotel and some of the amenities are not yet set up. The bed was VERY comfortable, the tv is large, and the city view is nice, not spectacular, but it's in the middle of the city, so that wasn't expected. The staff is absolutely ABOVE and BEYOND! They were fantastic!! The bar staff were incredibly friendly, VERY skilled, and I had a great time talking with them, while spending some time at the bar. I had an awesome stay at the hotel! The location is also fantastic. I was going to a concert at the House of Blues, and I loved the elevated walkway that took me right to the venue and back to the hotel. Outstanding spot!

I wish there was a mini fridge in the room, and ice machines on each floor. From what I understand they are on the way, but since the hotel just opened, some of these things were not yet complete. Not a deal-breaker, and I'm sure these things are coming down the road anyway.

Stayed one night to attend a concert at House of blues. Staff was awesome. Trevor at the front desk was very professional and accommodating. Frank helped us with our bags up to the room and offered service above and beyond what was expected. It was about 100 yd walk to the venue so felt totally safe.

There was nothing I didn't like.
