It's a small quiet hotel the pool is nice and never crowded. The small shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. The feel of the property takes you back to what old austin or San antonio probably once was, like your transported from this area of Texas to another.

No breakfast at the hotel restaurant

A quaint, boutique lodging experience. An interesting layout in the multiple buildings. Despite a certain rustic charm, the facilities were modern and updated. Great water pressure in the shower which was not the case in another, supposedly MORE modern location during this trip. The staff at the desk was friendly and helpful. I asked for a recommendation for a meal and she immediately provided one. I ended up checking out the local pizza instead (which was pretty darn good!), but I was appreciative of her responsiveness.

The parking situation is not great. I was a bit nervous having to pull over to one side around a rather narrow circular road. Given the location, though, I suspect alleviating that would be next to impossible. The couch was kinda weird; more like it was intended to be kind of like a futon intended to double as a bed. It was comfortable enough to watch tv.

We did not eat on site

Only thing I would say is there were lots of “Rolly Polly’s”. If there could have been a quick sweep before our arrival? Not a deal breaker or negative though. Also, feedback in reviews about noise were a concern when booking but this a great place! Yes, its location is older and close to the highway but the noise is kept at bay when you close that door!

The size of the room was good. The beds were very comfortable along with the pillows. The pool was beautiful.

There is not a refrigerator in the room. Had to request an iron - no elevator.  Well, there was a restaurant attached to the hotel. The reviews were not very good and no one recommended it so we did not try it.

The breakfast was a typical egg and pancakes. The favor was acceptable. The atmosphere was historical. The service was good.

We made a reservation for dinner. When we arrived we were told it would be a little longer. When we returned to recheck the status of our dinner reservation; the hostess apologized but it would be additional 1 1/2 hour wait.

Charming location and setting!. Nice clean room and comfy bed! Lots to do, cute shops, swimming holes right nearby, nice pool, nice staff.

Wonky sidewalk, outdoor lighting could be better, shower could use a deep cleaning. That said, I'm being picky because it was a really great place. We wish we could have stayed longer to actually enjoy the surroundings more! And everything is closed Sunday, that's a bummer.

Very difficulties navigate into and find front lobby. Parking is defined at all .

feels like a resort, nice pool and hang-out areas, lovely restaurant with delicious food, LOVED all the beautiful plants and gardens.

you can hear the cars from the highway a lot, wish there were more big trees around the back to block the sound a little. Other than that, wonderful hotel.

the property was very secluded in a small quiet town. it had gorgeous views of salado but itself was covered in full grown trees and shrubbery that added to the spookiness of the area

The hotel is gorgeous! We had a great time and enjoyed the pool so much.

Staff was not helpful at check-in. We had to find out from other guests where the ice was and that towels were provided at the pool. The desk phone wasn't ever answered when I called.
