We had a wonderful stay at The Madison in the King William Historic District this November. We loved the free parking which was a plus as all the hotels next to the Riverwalk charge $30+ a day for parking. Our host, Kevin, greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful answering all our questions and showing us how things worked in our apartment. We enjoyed the neighborhood cafes which were in walking distance from The Madison. If we ever come back to San Antonio and the Riverwalk, we will definitely stay at The Madison.

We could hear guests that were staying on the second floor directly above us. Remember, it is a historic area so the building isn't insulated like they are if doing a new build. If you can do stairs, I would recommend a room on the second floor. However, the noise did not keep us awake and the king size bed was worth staying on the first floor.

For starters, a very friendly staff person met me to go over the access to the building and my unit, provide info and advice about the area, and also share a very interesting history of the neighborhood, including the building and room in which I stayed. The location in the King William neighborhood is great - quiet, nice restaurants within walking distance, and just a few minutes from the San Antonio Riverwalk, on which you can stroll for less than a mile to the bustling downtown, the Alamo, and other sights.

The air conditioning unit was quite noisy, but fortunately there was a nice ceiling fan that kept me cool during the night. Everything else was just fine.

The room was lovely. Everything was clean and the kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with anything you would need. This place is in a beautiful historic neighborhood with lovely old houses and our host was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the building we were staying in. I really loved this place and would love to stay here again when I travel back to San Antonio.

I really can't complain about anything here. If I were to have anything negative it would be to say there is foot traffic so there is some noise but it's mostly people walking by talking and laughing and having a good time and who can blame them. It's a lovely neighborhood and people are out enjoying themselves.

The location was in historic King William area and was perfect walking distance to unique cafes and restaurants. There was street parking if you have a car. It was in a quiet neighborhood and peaceful. We were close enough to walk to the Riverwalk, Alamo, etc. However, would recommend not walking in the summer time unless well adjusted to heat. The bed was super comfortable. Recommend getting the 1-bedroom if staying for a week. We never heard any of the other guests, so rooms were well insulated. Very relaxing. Staff was available by text throughout our stay. Staff was very accommodating for our stay in letting us check-in super late as our plane did not arrive until midnight.

The Madison is located in the most charming and historic area known as the King William District. If you've a need to stay in or around the downtown area you MUST consider booking at the Madison. The most tranquil and peaceful venue available that's adjacent to the hustle and bustle area of downtown. The kitchenette was so handy and the local HEB Pantry store so convenient. It's like having all the comforts of home plus in the most unique neighborhood of San Antonio ... a must stay location.

Can honestly not come up with one single aspect that I did not like ... truly a unique experience. Completely exceeded all expectations. Kevin and his staff were superb!

Staff was extremely helpful. At one point I locked my keys in a locker at a gym I could use and they tracked down the owner after hours so I could get my keys!!! Big save! Great location if you dig King William district and downtown.

Parking was a bit tough and the bikes were not available that had been advertised, but outside of that it was pretty good. I may have needed to request a bike before arriving, but got along walking and driving, as needed.

It was close to restaurants and downtown. It was very quiet even though it was on a semi busy street. We had a few bumps at first but the owners were very quick to respond. Bed was comfortable and water pressure for shower was good. The room was clean.

Bathroom was very small and hard to get around in. Air conditioning couldn’t quite stay cool enough but it was pretty hot outside. Never could find the laundry room.

To be honest with you I loved 😍 everything ❣️ about the property.. it was very nice and clean and quiet.. It was my birthday weekend and it was so peaceful and we walked everywhere so close to the river I didn't have to move my truck to get anywhere everything was less than a 10min walk .. Just perfect 😌 We will be coming back..

Great location, great neighborhood, great people, and everything we needed in a "home away from home" type of space. Was conveniently located to many of the places we came to visit. So many places are within walking distance.

Parking could have been a little more consistent. The location was great but also made for a challenge when it came to competing for a parking spot with other visitors to the area.

location to restaurants and the river walk. Restaurants very very close, riverwalk about a 20 min walk. comfortable bed, quiet area, overall the 1 bedroom Studio apartment was a great stay.

parking, we had to circle around looking for parking every time we returned to the property. Even though I enjoyed our stay I probably won’t book there again, only because I prefer to be closer to the riverwalk.
