Aloft Waco Baylor

This is by far the best hotel that I have stayed in while traveling the US. So many sweet little details, including a gift bag for my dog with a toy and treats, water and treats laid out at the entrance of the hotel, and a nice little pet relief station that was really well light up at night time. The hotel was really clean and modern, I absolutely loved my stay here and I'm trying to think of an excuse to go back.

I honestly couldn't fault this hotel, the only thing that made me a little uncomfortable was that the room I stayed in had a door leading to the room next to me with only one lock on it. I'm a young woman traveling alone so that made me feel a little strange, but it's only because I've never experienced that before and I hear that it's quite common. I generally felt very safe at this hotel.

No pet fee....only hotel I've stayed in after traveling for 2+ months that indicated they are pet friendly and therefore do no charge an additional fee. Also had a treat and water bowl in the entry way and gave my dog a goody bad w/ a toy and treat upon arrival. Staff was very friendly and entire property, including landscaping and parking area were extremely clean! Location was walkable to the Magnolia grounds (unless you but quite a bit like I did ;)) and remodeled homes around the area have popped up in the 3 years since I last visited the area. Still quite a few humble homes and/or boarded up places, but I felt comfortable on my morning and nightly walks. Lastly, I was on the ground floor near the lobby/lounge, and pool table area, and NEVER heard the noise when it got busy and fun at night! I was NEVER woken up in the a.m. by my neighbors or the people above. Also a first since in all my years of travel and hotel stays!

I had never heard of ALoft hotels before but I needed a last minute booking in Waco and this property came up as available. The pictures of the property showed very nice rooms, a pool, and a lounge that was both very modern and seventies-esque at the same time. The same was true for the colors and furniture throughout the property. So I more or less “blindly” booked a room for two nights. I was NOT disappointed! The pictures very accurately represented the hotel. So the decor is both modern and retro, and quite pleasing. But the most pleasing thing about this property for me was the quiet. Only two blocks from I-35, the building was so quiet. No noise from the highway or the immediate surroundings penetrated the building. I had the most restful sleep away from home in years. On top of that, the staff went out of their way to make it known that they were available at all times. But there was nothing I needed on this stay. Rooms very clean, with all towels and linens fully stocked. I will stay here again!

The only negative is the property location. This is more of my negative than the hotel’s. This area was once one of the most dangerous single spots in Waco for violent crime. Luckily for me, I didn’t really check the location until AFTER I had booked the room. I could have cancelled free of charge but I decided to stay anyway. That was the correct decision. The area has largely been cleared and rehabilitated. There are other hotels and restaurants within easy walking distance. The neighborhood facelift makes one feel reasonably safe. Police patrols are regularly visible as well.

The room was nice. Bathroom sink is sorta small. Adequate space for two traveling. Free breakfast would make this place perfect. Location to multiple sites in Waco was great.

Breakfast wasn't free :( Sink in bathroom was small Sound proofing was not the best. Kept hearing someone running upstairs above.

It was very clean, fresh, new looking. The staff were very friendly and available to answer any questions you had. They also provide a shuttle service. The location was great too!

We were facing the pool on the 3rd floor and at 11 I had to call the front desk because it was so noisy out there. Music blaring ( which turned out to be the hotel) and kids playing cornhole. All you could here was thud, thud, thud from them throwing the beanbags. Normally we wouldn't mind but we had an early morning the next day. Basically if noise doesn't bother you....pool side is great. If noise does bother you, request not to be on the pool side.

It's hard to say specifically one thing because everything was great. The beds stood out though because I got amazing rest after sleeping there and didn't want to leave because it was comfy. The view was nice so we slept with the blinds open on the higher floor and waking to a sunrise is beyond refreshing. The internet kept up with my gaming husband's expectations and was very good. The location was also quite close to everything.

I liked everything I believe, but I was not aware we were getting an accessible room and the microwave is downstairs, not in your room. Also, if you are uncomfortable with large crowds of people, it can get a bit scarey on Saturday nights. Overall, nothing negatively impacted our experience.

The hotel was nice, clean and staff friendly.

we were approached by people asking for money. the neighborhood is less than desirable. ATM was out of order and no change available for laundry. Bar was closed on Saturday- apparently they only employ one bartender and he was out due to covid.

Everything. The place was clean, staff was great and it had things on the property for me to do so I really didn’t have to leave the property. Plus it was close to a lot of places to eat and close to where I was going

Modern, clean, centrally located.

1st floor location. I will specify next time. From a design perspective the hotel is great. Execution is fair in a few areas with visible cords at automatic curtains and quite a few areas where “fixes” are visible due to lack of planning for such a new hotel.

Clean and new! Super quiet rooms. On first floor near lobby with bar and never heard any noise coming from that area. never heard the people next to or above me either! I’ve stayed at luxury hotels and never experienced this! Also it is close to the Magnolia properties.
