Tru By Hilton Waco South

The location was excellent both for shopping, dining, etc., and my personal requirements. The rooms are efficient and spacious and the property is simple, clean and has most of the amenities a traveler needs. Great value compared to other properties in the area.

A group of teenagers came to the hotel and were a bit loud. To their or the hotel's credit, the noise went down at 10:00pm and only a few individuals making noise after that. I had a quiet room until they put one of the groups next door and the walls are too thin to prevent the noise, music, talking, etc. from being heard loudly.

The breakfast was great every morning, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were very nice. This seems like more of a business class hotel, and it's perfect for that. When we weren't going to area attractions, we were comfortable staying in our room.

We don't travel often, so the cost of the room seemed a bit high. We were quoted $380 on Booking.com, so it was a surprise when they charged $490 to my credit card. The lady who checked us in explained it well, but it still would have been good to know ahead of time that the cost would be $50 extra. The only other thing I suggest would be daily trash pickup from the rooms. The trash cans are small.

It was clean and spacious and since I'm in a wheelchair due to the amputation of my right leg they really accommodated us very well. The shower bench was terrific and already in the bathroom and attached to the bathtub very quickly and with ease! All the bars in the bathroom were awesome and the shower was amazing! The welcome on the TV screen sent it over the top of more than a 10! Thank you for a very nice stay! We were here for a viewing and funeral of my cousin who died suddenly and your staff was great about it. Your breakfast was delicious as well! We will definitely be back and stay at more TRU hotels!

There was nothing we didn't like

I loved the location relative to restaurants and shops and the facilities and rooms were great. Everything was very clean and the room was terrific. The bed was very comfortable and the window shade kept out the light. The tv was big and the lamp had a dimmer, which was a great idea. Would definitely stay again.

If I had to be picky, I would say the lobby area isn’t very inviting. That area is a bit dark and while the decor and furniture is fun the setup is a bit awkward. The placement of the front desk being centrally located is a nice idea, but it kind of feels like the staff member who works there in the midst of everyone’s conversations, especially since there is no background noise of any kind (like music or a tv). The water pressure in the shower was quite poor.

The breakfast was very good! Good choices, good presentation and plenty of options! All staff members were friendly and helpful! We stayed here 3 nights and will stay again if we return to Waco! This was a great location for restaurants, shopping and all things magnolia!

This is absolutely not the fault of the hotel but many people chose to not clean up after their dogs. I don’t understand that because the hotel had clean up bags and a place to put them.

Everything was clean and smelled really nice! Loved the board by the elevator with local things to do/places to go! The staff was SO friendly and welcoming. Very very happy with every aspect of this stay! So much so, I booked a second night! The gym was clean and sanitized as well. All the staff greeted me throughout the hotel. LOVE this place!

Absolutely NO complaints. Wish they had a pool, but everything was FANTASTIC!

Good location, clean,the staff was outstanding!

The tv was basically not working. Although they tried fixing it there was a problem with the internet connection. The staff went out of their way to fixit but it just couldn’t be done. My issue was that management has known about this issue in this specific room and still put us there the hotel. Had few rooms filled.

First time to stay at Tru by Hilton so pleasantly surprised by uniqueness. Very warm and inviting lobby area with "hanging basket" chairs, cushioned benches and abundance of throw pillows as well as a pool table. Friendly staff. Rooms were small but not crowded. No wasted space. comfortable king size bed, TV built into the wall. wall mounted thermostat, lighting controlled by insertion of room keycard and really nice glass enclosure shower. Very quiet. 2 large elevators. Adequate breakfast with an automated pancake maker(first time to see that) Great central location for our needs. Excellent all around.

No problems at all. Rooms do not have in room coffee maker but good coffee in lobby.

Clean, spacious rooms, quality fixtures, choice of floor level, high speed internet, nice breakfast.

Only fruit available was oranges ( no bananas). No bacon. My room quote was $119.65. I signed for $136 something and asked why the difference. The lady said the extra was for incidentals IF we had any (which we didn't)...and that the difference (the extra) would be returned to our credit card. Was not given or offered receipt at checkout so I trusted what she had said ....until we got home and checked our account. Was deducted the full price. Was very disappointed.

Location is excellent 10 min or less to most attractions, grocery, convenient, and gas station near by. Hot breakfast was a bonus, lots of selections and staff always ready to answer questions or help.

The only thing that could have been better would have been a pool and or hot tub
