Cowboy Country Inn

Roadside motel that is in good condition and well cared for. Bed comfortable and unique in style with nice ironwork on it. Each room had a different theme and was decorated accordingly—with creativity. Room and bathroom were clean. The seating was excellent, which came in handy when we were waylaid by illness for a day and one spouse had to sit a great deal to work and read. Proprietors were helpful and understanding. Good people we met in Escalante! Near to Grand Escalante Nat’l monument hiking and slot canyons, waterfalls, etc. Didn’t get to take advantage due to illness and rain but good to know there was unique natural beauty close by. Decent night sky, dark enough to see many stars. Not dark or clear enough to see galaxies but still good.

No pegs or hangers for coats. Our fridge seem to stay set too high and all our food froze, but this was probably not in all rooms. Some ice available for free—from the gas station convenience store next door.

The location to explore the Grand Staircase is excellent. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. Plenty of hot water! We really enjoyed themed decor of our room and appreciated the retro vibe of the facilities. Eventhough it was self check in, which is very easy, both the manager and owner can be reached by phone, if needed. There were a couple of nice restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance.

They use a scented sanitizer to clean the room, which smelled like a strong air freshener. If you are sensitve to scents I would check with the motel before booking. I mentioned this to the property manager who said he would talk with the owner about changing this. My wife reminded me that there are electrical problems. She got a minor shock when plugging in or unplugging from many of the outlets. Also the GFIC plug in the bathroom did not work. We stayed in #15, the Harley room.

Very comfortable bed with memory foam mattress. Rockers and picnic table on the porch out front. Contactless check-in and out worked well, though would have been happy to see the host. Great loacation to walk to town amenities and for exploring the monument.

Loud neighbors talking and having a jeep towed early in the morning woke us up. But that probably doesn't heppen every day. We plan to stay here again.

Great location in Escalante, easy check in, super fun and cute decor. Great value all the way around! We had a quick stay as we started that day in SLC, drove through Capitol Reef Looping the Fold, then stayed over in Escalante to hit Hole in the Rock Road and all the Slot Canyons the next day; then over to Bryce and Zion. had dinner at Escalante Outfitters - they have AMAZING pizza.

I enjoyed the rustic feel to the room with its cowboy motif which did not interfere with the fine comfort provided. I particularly liked the small reading lights behind and above my head while in the bed reading. And the rocking chairs on the deck outside. And the very extensive tv channels available.

More coffee for a second cup would have been appreciated

We just loved this cozy and quaint little motel, reminiscent of those from the 1950’s. Each room has their own porch chairs and outdoor picnic table. Our room included all the modern conveniences (refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, TV, hairdryer), and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also loved the rustic decor and quiet location.

Cute room with everything you need except table to eat on mentioned above. Comfortable bed and chairs. Very friendly cat we enjoyed petting. No one was on site but note to use key box for room worked well. All rooms have different themes so being from Florida and getting "Hook, Line and Sinker" was appropriate.

Would have liked a table in the room to eat on. Escalante has limited options for food so we had luckily brought leftovers but had to eat on our laps. There was only one place in town for breakfast at The Mercantile which had a great breakfast bagel.

Room was nicely decorated with western Theme. Comfortable, big bed with oversized Posts. Bathroom narrow but nicely Remodeled. Very clean. Good brochure.

Check in was Covid style, no human contact, Just a lock box for a key. I prefer chatting With a friendly local.

Cute, comfortable, private, super clean, quiet, & off the beaten trail. Included comfy couch/recliner, closet w/ chest of drawers, & fully stocked, updated bath. Just like home!

Slippery tub! After hours lockbox at room was a bit confusing. Otherwise one of our favorite stops💕

Location fantastic and the rooms as always superb. Everything was superb including our neighbours who we got to know and had dinner with. We strongly reccomend Escanlante as a place to visit whichever way you drive in the scenery is unbelievable. You will not find better than the cowboy inn well worth the money.

Nothing apart from lack of human contact at check-in.
