I wanted à ‘Gilmore girls like’ experience and I got exactly what I was looking for at the Old Stagecoach Inn. The place is lovely, full of character, super well maintained. The staff was amazingly welcoming, I felt at home. Breakfast excellent and they try their best to accommodate allergies or other diet preferences which is very nice of them! the free cookies at the lobby were amazing, the location really great at the heart of the village. my room as super tiny but comfortable. I used the ‘living room’ space in the evenings, super nice.

the price is quite high given I had to share a bathroom with 2 other rooms but I had no issues with bathroom being used when I wanted to, so was not a problem (I was aware I had booked a shared bathroom room, so no bad surprise). the bathroom itself was super clean, so agreeable to use. As in all old buildings, noise isolation is quite non existent, so bring earplugs.

We loved the breakfast! It was delicious, fresh, and made to order. The location was excellent, since it was right off the freeway and close to a lot of the activities we planned to do in the area. The employees were friendly and helpful. The rooms were decorated with fun antiques and were cozy.

We had booked a room with three beds and there were only two beds when we arrived due to an issue with the bed that had been there before, so one of us had to sleep on a blow up mattress. We were really grateful that they were able to accommodated us with that, though!

There was a mix-up with our reservation and we were booked into a room with a shared bathroom (my fault). Fortunately, they were able to put us into another room with an ensuite bathroom for just a little more money. The room ended up being more of a suite with a full kitchen, far too big for our one night stay, but we didn't complain. The room itself was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning may have been the best B&B breakfast we've EVER had. They start you off with a continental spread and then they give you a menu of hot food to order from. The portions were HUGE for breakfast and the food delicious. The staff were excellent and the owner that I spoke with was extremely friendly. It's not the cheapest place we stayed on our trip but I would highly recommend staying there.

The two Dachshunds walking around were a little persnickety with folks. I love animals, but if your pets aren't going to be friendly, it's probably best that you keep them away from your paying guests.

Lovely old style inn Ample free parking in their own car park Comfortable beds Good shower Complimentary shampoo, conditioner & shower gel to use Air conditioning & fan in room Fabulous breakfast - buffet (juice, fruit, pastries, muffins) followed by extensive menu of hot options (recommend Vermont cheese omelette) Efficient service from the breakfast hostess Short walking distance to local restaurants, supermarket & pharmacy

There wasn't really anything we didn't like. It would have been nice to have had bottled water in the room.

Love the cozy, quaint atmosphere and personal connection with the owner and employees. I let them know in advance that it was our first anniversary, and when we checked into our room, we found a lovely note and dessert from the inn staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary. We also enjoyed our room as it was on the top floor and very spacious. Last, the breakfast is incredible, and we couldn’t believe that such a long delicious menu would be included as part of the stay.

What did we like? We LOVED everything. This is one of the most enjoyable stays we've ever had anywhere and we've traveled all over the world. Listing a few of the highest points in what was already a perfect stay : 1. The owner and breakfast chef extraordinare John Barwick. Such an easy going fellow, so nice to talk with. Running a bed and breakfast is not an easy task, but he couldn't be more perfectly suited. 2. The staff, both in the breakfast service and in the small on-site tavern. Chen, Ryan, Jean, Krissy, Amanda and good old JC. Thanks to everyone. 3. The Tavern. Tiny little place with about 8 barstools and two small two person tables. Such a cosy place for a nightcap after each day's fun and exploration. Always a long and enjoyable conversation too... 4. The breakfasts are incredible. You start out with a buffet table where you can choose granola, cereals, coffee/tea, orange juice, muffins and various fruits. Then you choose a table and are given a menu for your entree. There is a wide variety of choices on the regular menu and quite honestly, you can pretty much get any standard item you'd like for breakfast. There are also daily specials depending on chef John's mood and refrigerator supplies each morning. The five entrees that I had during our stay were Vermont Cheese and ham omelet, Huevos Rancheros (John's specialty), Florentine eggs Benedict, western omelet and one morning I went old-school with eggs over medium. My wife and daughter also really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, the banana pancakes, the standard Belgian waffle and the Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Among the side items you can add are apple cob smoked bacon, country ham, home fries and my two favorites....maple link sausage and shredded potato pancakes. Side note, one morning I asked that a bit of the Hollandaise sauce be added to my potato pancakes and it was great.

I didn't like leaving, but we DID have to go home.

Breakfast was really great. Many hot options. Innkeeper was very welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked very well.

Wish we could have been able to purchase drinks and water there. Small fridge in room would be ideal. Usb ports to charge phones somewhere near night tables would be good too. But these are small suggestions. Overall liked the place !

We had a very large 2 bedroom suite which had a cosy country/New England feel and was very comfortable for our family of three. Large outdoor terrace for breakfast and drinks. Right in heart of Woodstock so easy to walk to restaurants/taverns and 5 min drive from Ben and Jerry's. Lovely cooked breakfast - really enjoyed all the trimmings incl. pancakes.

There were some cobwebs around the windows in second bedroom and air conditioning units looked old/dusty.

Location is very good. It is near I-89, and we can walk to downtown. The facility out side and in-side are very pretty. Good for all age group, especially, young couple and ladies group.

I wish they had hair dryer. ( if it was there, I am sorry. I could not find..) When we walked in the room, floor made noise. I hope we didn't bother who were stayed under our room.

If you are anywhere near Waterbury VT, this is a must stop. Even worth a big detour, if not. It’s a lovingly restored old inn with the most magnificent B&B breakfast we’ve ever had. Rooms are big and comfortable—not modern cookie cutter, but individually styled. The breakfast menu is long, full, and exceptional. We had the salmon eggs Benedict & spinach omelette. Yes, the hollandaise sauce was homemade! Plus, you start off with homemade muffins and fresh fruit while you wait. Saddest thing we heard on our entire trip was a couple who said they had to skip breakfast to make an outbound flight. What a shame to miss this gourmet’s delight! Staff was attentive and very friendly. The owner gave us a short tour of the restored bar, a gorgeous turn of the last century setting. We give this property our highest recommendation!

We were completely satisfied!
