Comfort Inn & Suites Montpelier-Berlin

We picked the location because it was close to some of the relatives we were visiting. I had often stayed at this hotel when I worked for a local company and worked remotely from SC. The staff is great and the hotel is convenient and always well kept. The nightly chocolate chip cookies are a favorite with my husband. The breakfast is very good with many selections.

Our room had a slight mildew smell. I find this often in hotels and am not even sure how it could be avoided because it appeared our room had fairly new A/C. The other thing was price but all hotels in the area have climbed in price over the last two years.

The breakfast was great! Good choices of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, toast, bagels, juices and great coffee. I loved the welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The beds were comfy; room well-lit; shower perfect. Room was easily accessible as I requested (arthritis). The fact that there is a restaurant, a travelers convenience store, and a full-service gas station in the complex made it extremely convenient. Nearby Shaws was an added benefit.

Unfortunately, I was traveling back and forth to Vershire each day, so it was a bit of a trip. By day it was glorious! The back roads provided wonderful views. But traveling at night with an unreliable GPS connection made those same roads a bit difficult!

Service outstanding: Greeted with efficiency and a smile. 15 minutes after checking into the room, we received a phone call from the front desk to ask how our accommodations were, to which we replied, "Great, so far." Amenities outstanding: free lemon-infused ice water, coffee, tea, soft drinks, freshly made chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast buffet fully stocked, including eggs, 3 different meat choices, waffles, and cereals; with items to take away like fruit and yogurt. Upon checking out at the desk, we were handed small glass bottles filled with real maple syrup to take with us. A sweet memento of our visit. We were very happy campers.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay, except maybe the fact that we didn't see any moose! Even the view out our first floor window was lovely. If I had one suggestion for the room set up and bed placement, it would be that it would have been much more convenient to have a bedside table on EACH side of the bed. I had to plug my cell phone charger into a low wall plug with the phone on the floor overnight. The edge of the bed was only about 10 inches away from the wall on that side.

Breakfast was exceptional and the person who over saw it was very very good. She kept everything well stocked and clean.

The entrance. You either had to walk up several steps or a really long ramp and for someone who is elderly or disabled it is a real challenge. The toilets are really low for a big person and for domeone like me with hip issues it’s difficult.

On arrival the staff was very nice and informative. Cookies and coffee etc. in lobby was very welcoming. Our room was clean with a coffee/tea machine and the usual shampoo etc. Everything was really good.

We had expected that there was daily housekeeping but when we returned after a day long event there had been no housekeeping - the replacement of coffee and bathroom shampoo etc. they only do housekeeping every third day I think it would be appropriate to clearly share this information at booking or on arrival....... not a big deal just disappointing.

Bradley, night staff member, at front desk when we checked in was very friendly. Breakfast being included and having multiple options and not just muffins was great. The lady keeping up with the products (did not get her name unfortunately) was very nice and had great energy about her (that early in the morning!) The beds were so comfy and I loved having four pillows!

The breakfast offerings were fantastic. The location was perfect for us - close to I-89 and convenient to other nearby locations. The area was quiet, the hotel clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly.

Fire alarm went off unexpectedly but the issue was resolved quickly by the hotel manager/staff. Recommend video surveillance for the parking lot as someone tried to steal gas from our car. Either that or a kid was playing around.

I stayed here for 5 nights while exploring northern Vermont with Mount Mansfield, Montpelier and Stowe being quite close and Burlington and, even, Mount Washington, NH being easily reachable. The hotel was close to perfect - friendly and helpful staff, well equipped, clean, well sized rooms, plenty of parking, and a very good well managed self-serve breakfast. The lobby was always well stocked with coffee, tea, hot apple cider, lemon water and cookies. An Applebee's restaurant is a 2 minute walk away from the lobby and turns around carryout in about 20 minutes. Adjacent to the hotel's parking lot are EV charging stations and a 24-hour state highway service station with fuel and hot and cold snacks. A large Shaw's grocery store is a 2 minute drive away across the facing road. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would certainly consider staying there again.

The hotel was a bit pricey but not inconsistent with other hotels in the vicinity given the effects of the pandemic and that I arrived in the midst of peak "leaf peeping" season.

Applebee’s is across the parking lot, Shaw’s grocery store is across the street, a traveler’s information center and gas station are next door…downtown Montpelier is minutes away, Stowe and Burlington are within a 35-40 minute ride and the Vermont highways are sparsely filled with cars, a pleasure to experience. The hotel staff were universally warm and friendly, always seeking to enhance our stay. The hot breakfast was a treat after so many months of Covid driven breakfasts in a bag. The free soda, water, coffee , tea and cookies available in the lobby every day were a welcome treat when returning after a day of exploring Vermont. In summary? The Comfort Inn and Suites was an excellent vacation haven. Oh, I forgot to mention…despite being heavily occupied during our 6 days there, it was always quiet, only an occasional voice heard from the hallway! Slept ‘ like a baby’!

Absolutely nothing! Loved everyday!

First of all, Emma at the front desk was incredible! She greeted us with a beautiful smile and attended to all our needs. All the staff members were great, from the front desk to the breakfast room. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast had a nice variety of choices, and the warm chocolate chip cookies and soft drinks in the lobby - a special treat! We'll definitely stay there again
