Location, rooms, view, cleanness..decor

Reception personal terrible in all aspects, attitude , behavior and service, both at check-in and check out. Luckily we had only two encounters with them during our stay : arrival and leaving. For example - at 11:00 check out time, after 4 nights stay, we got locked outside the room with suitcases in the car and coats in the room: their system cancels the room key at 11:00 sharp without any notice.. that says it all.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. My wife and I spent time looking around the hotel at all the beautiful decorations. The restaurant seemed like you stepped back in time to a beautiful location. The breakfast area was so comfortable and homelike! We took pictures of the bar area since it was so unique! Location is a beautiful setting on the river.

Very nice facility. we only took advantage of the breakfast on our last day. we are sorry we didn't go every day - the breakfast was wonderful!

we were hoping the bar would be open at noon....but understand staffing is an issue everywhere and adjustments had to be made. The room safe did not work - staff could not fix the issue with the master key (???)

We liked the view of the water, the quiet, the comfortable bed, the pool and hot tub.

I was told that the breakfast would be very good but it was below average. The food was cold and the second morning, there was no coffee and we had to make a request and wait for 10 minutes while it was brewed. The dinner was only average in spite of the cost. We went to dinner at the Woodstock Inn the second night and while it was more costly, the food was excellent. Overall, we were disappointed in the food.

Room was very comfortable. Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and the location was very good as it was close to downtown.

The mechanism inside the toilet tank was broken. I notified the front desk upon check-out...hope the fixed it for the next guests. There should have been some mention that most of the restaurants in town are closed M/T during the summer.

Hotel was lovely. Beautifully appointed rooms. Clean, charming decor throughout the hotel. Nice indoor pool and play room for the kids. Dinner was also very good on the night we arrived.

Breakfast was in a beautiful area of the hotel. The food was all right but there was always food missing (no eggs, no sausage, etc). People were waiting around for the hot food to come out. The ladies working were very nice, the timing was just off. Also, would have liked housekeeping in the rooms. Didn't realize until we checked in that this wasn't being provided.

late notice that they closed the restaurant on a saturday night (told us at 5pm) and we couldn’t get in elsewhere. they had no information about having food delivered to the hotel from elsewhere. that was not impressive. also they paved the parking lot on a saturday night during peak leaf season. (in so doing they closed off entrance to hotel in dark of night which made driving into hotel difficult and dangerous. ). this was a nice motel but without the restaurant really nothing special.

We enjoyed the slightly out of town location. Parking was easy. Reception was pleasant. Room was very comfortable with great king bed! We had a room on the lower level which allowed us to access the large backyard area to walk to the river. There were a few Adirondack chairs in one small location which were occupied. Would have liked to watch the River with a larger space. Breakfast was buffet style and we were able to eat on the outside covered patio which was lovely. Coffee was very good! I also enjoyed the heated indoor pool and sauna! This was a treat! Large area with big windows. Cute gift shop also. Dining room was closed for dinner the two nights we were there which made it hard to find a place that was open and not crowded in town. We had a full day sightseeing the area and wish we had stayed longer. Lovely golf course close by called Woodstock Golf Course which we would have played if we had more time. We toured the Marsh Billings Rockefeller farm. Lovely gardens, farm animals, ice cream and excellent film about the families that occupied the home. House was closed so not able to tour. Also drove to Sugarbush Maple farm to see how maple syrup made. Very educational and up close productions. Wonderful gift shop where they also prepare cheddar cheese to buy/ship. Drove to King Arthur Baking company and shopped there. They have baking classes also. Wonderful cafe which closes at 3pm. Then we ended our day at the Quechee Gorge for a short hike. Love the area! This hotel also had a toddler play room, bigger kid game room and exercise room. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was in an excellent location we requested a quiet room and were given one. The dinner and breakfast were very good and well prepared.

Everything was in order

Decor was so cute with modern, clubby feel mixed with antique items. Food was superlative at both the included breakfast and a la carte dinner.

I’m hard pressed to think of ANYTHING. Some small noise transferred thru the connecting door.
