Holiday Inn Express Fredericksburg - Southpoint, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I were traveling with our dog. We stayed one night as this was the half way point to our destination. The hotel and grounds were set up well for getting around with him. It was very clean. The staff were wonderful and friendly. They answered all my questions and gave nice suggestions. Beds were comfortable with extra pillows. Plenty of towels and areas for our “stuff”.

Two complaints. There were teenage kids on our floor running around and throwing ice cubes. Since the hotel was short-staffed because of Covid I had no one that could come to help. The space under the door was a good inch and a half so every sound from the hallway sounded as if it was in our room. Every time someone passed with their dog their steps were heard and we could see their feet under the door space. This caused our dog to jump up constantly and sometimes even bark which equaled no sleep for us. Very noisy because of all the space under that door. I’ve never run into that in a hotel before.

I’ve stayed at the hotel many many times and love the location. From my past bookings there I’ve always enjoyed the breakfast choices but anymore I would rate the breakfast as fair. There used to be better hot food choices. Egg white and scrambled egg omelettes, regular scrambled eggs, and even biscuits and gravy.

There was a young kid at front desk, wish I got his name. Was very respectful and made checking in a delight. The cleaning staff, very friendly!

My only complaint is that the bathroom sick water was not at full capacity, it barely gave water.

Excellent breakfast ample food choices fresh fruit pastries hot food ample coffee. Convenient location off I-95 in area close to shopping restaurants fuel. Staff was very courteous, property allowed pets our dog was appreciative.

The room's windows lacked drapery blocking light and noise during the night making a restful night's sleep difficult for my spouse. The air conditioner was the usual annoying window unit loud again interfering with sleep.

Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice I was there for 3 night stay . Only issue is the key didn't work the second day, had to go back to the office and get it reprogrammed. Had my arms full at the time. Little frustrating.

the breakfast was better than anticipated. Which was and excellent surprise. The pool was very clean and well kept up. The staff was very pleasant and polite. The room was very clean, I really like that it had a mini fridge.

We stayed 3 nights and the maid never came in to clean the room or replace the towels. It's no big deal really, just would appreciate fresh towels. And that's only because there was a spill in our room and we used the towels to clean up.

Room refrigerator needs to be replaced, frozen up. Dresser drawers open up with any bump to table, needs something that holds them closed. Breakfast was low standard. Outdoor grounds were littered with trash in dog relief area. Also, too many not picking up after their dogs, guests should pay a fee for this by evidence of a camera. Overall, the rate is about $20 a night over its worth on weekends.

I arrived without a reservation (except on Booking.com which I made from Richmond, VA) with my emotional support cat. I had no problems checking in, everyone was very friendly and if I hadn't of had to get back to Indiana, I would have stayed a couple more days to visit with my brother.

One night, I had a large truck outside my window that the company that owned it was leaving running. I asked them several times to move it or turn it off due to smelling fumes in my room. I know the front desk also asked them to turn it off. The gentleman was not very nice and didn't seem to want to comply. Trucks that are coming in should be parking away from the building, especially, if they are going to be left running.

Wrong address listed!!! Hard to believe. Address listed is a dead end street no where close to the actual location. Went to the other Holiday Inn Express in town who gave me the correct address and said they have this happen all the time . Hello, anyone listening? No excuse

The staff were super, super friendly, the place was clean, the breakfast was very delicious.

it’s busy just because it’s close by to the interstate. However, don’t let that be a deterrent because it was also very convenient.
