The water was shut off from 10AM-12PM on the day of my departure. I had no morning shower. The front desk indicated that every quest had been told at check-in. I was told of the trick to get hot water to the third floor, though was not told about no water. The front desk indicated there were signs informing of the water shut off. I did see them at check out. Normal type size on a 5'x5' piece of paper on the check in counter and a similar sigh near the first floor elevator button ... so they tried. My comment to the desk staff was to make the signs more "eye catching" as the 12pt font was easily missed. And with large font, bold type and wording to catch your eye as ... ATTENTION GUESTS ... IMPORTANT ... PLEASE READ ... etc.

Honestly, I have to come to Martinsville to visit my family. I hate staying in the area, but the Hampton Inn is like a little slice of normal. It's such a relief to come back to the hotel in the evenings. The staff are really nice, the food is pretty decent, I like the free snacks, the beds are comfortable.

The hot water for tea was never hot the last time I visited. But that's just me being nitpicky. Otherwise it was great.

Breakfast was ok but the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was nice but I think the carpets could use a cleaning. Also the comforter could be updated.

Felt the hotel was overpriced for a Hampton Inn in Martinsville, VA.

I think rooms were a little high for the area. I wish we could have had a room close to our daughter we did book at the same time and requested as close as possible but we are were on two separate floors. other then that a good stay staff was nice and helpful !!!

The woman at the front counter. Very rude and unpleasant, unprofessional. Not only to us but the next gentleman in line. This isn't the first time with her either. Next time I need a room if she is still present, we will look elsewhere so there is no drama.

Check in was quick. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Nice & quiet. Parking was good. Location was central to most everything. Very clean.

Only complaint was the beds weren’t comfortable.

Kristie was great. We had an unexpected hospital visit during our trip that delayed us a day. She was incredibly understanding and kind in helping us make adjustments to our stay.

The property itself was great! Clean, nice pool, small gym- but clean, working ice machines, and laundry takes credit card which was nice too.

Very nice hotel… not near a nice “part” of town so just be careful if you go out.

The Continental Breakfast was the best I've ever had!!!

Shower would not stay set at the temperature it was adjusted at. Very unpleasant when trying to shower and the water suddenly becomes very hot or very cold!

Clean hotel. Hot (free) breakfast included eggs and waffles. Workout room had free weights.

On a busy street with no sidewalks, meaning you need to drive everywhere even if it's a couple blocks away, but I'm not sure there's much choice in Martinsville.
