Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport

I slept great, enjoyed a relaxing shower, and had a minimal commute to my job site. Dinner at the Anchor Bar inside the hotel was convenient and delicious. The crab cake po boy with sweet potato waffle fries was fantastic and highly recommended. The bartender, Tanya(?), was attentive, helpful, and friendly with excellent recommendations. I also was pleasantly surprised with the Starbucks inside too. Made for simple and convenient meal options for my business trip. Oh, and the TV is huge in the king room if that matters to you.

Breakfast prices were a little high even considering inflation. I had the eggs benedict with potatoes, and while it was made to order it wasn't extraordinary and I had a difficult time seeing the value at nearly $16 after tax and before tip. Also, the cobb salad while large in size and generous with toppings missed the mark. I didn't like the chicken and the greens didn't seem crisp and fresh. I didn't spend much time in the room but I had a hard time trying to enjoy a bedtime movie on HBO. The streaming service crashed and also does not resume where you left off so you have to fast forward to get back to what you were viewing.

As part of my career, I have traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, so have experienced the entire gamut of hotel experiences. This is a marvelous facility and it is operated well, especially considering COVID-related precautions. Everything was clean and neat, even down to the TV remote being wrapped in plastic.

There are two things that prevented me from giving it higher marks: 1) My room faced the highway, so was fairly noisy, with "hot" cars racing around in the middle of the night (expected, considering the military presence in the area). A room facing away from the street would have been fine. 2) Even a continental breakfast or even coffee being included would be a real "plus". Having to purchase from a Starbucks shop in the lobby was a serious negative.

The location was perfectly located to grab all kinds of things. We loved the bed. The whole set up.

Shower could have been nicer and the ac having gaps to the outside of a 3rd story was worrisome. The main problem I had was the front desk lady, very very sweet, speaks so mousy I have zero clue what she told me. I'll be a lot happier when we can use the pool and the workout equipment.

Lack of acknowledgement from desk agents to guests. Ordered from the kitchen and took over an hour to get nachos & a burger. Needless to say the nachos were absolutely disgusting, cold. And the burger wasn't cooked well. By the time my husband and I was given our to go order we were disappointed with the service from the restaurant.

Layout was great, bed was comfortable, shower was just right! Liked toilet in water closet. It provides more room in the bathroom. Location was excellent and convenient for just about everything.

Very slow elevators and usually occupied, no breakfast provided with stay unless you get a breakfast from Starbucks on 1st floor. Snack prices and sodas were overpriced for the amount you get. 20oz soda $2.50 and a bag of M&M’s $2.50! Ridiculous...especially if you have children. Kinda weird about bringing up your coffee and water to your room as you check in. No housekeeping during stay because of COVID-19.

This was a last minute booking given my flight to NY was delayed and I was diverted to Norfolk. After calling to hotel, the team immediately sent the free airport shuttle to pick me up and was waiting with a smile when I arrived early in the morning after quite a frustrating day. The hotel is about 5 mins from the airport and room was warm, clean and very welcoming. Would recommend this hotel 100%.

Hotel is lovely and the team is the highlight of the stay for sure.

The hotel location was excellent. I don’t experience eating at the restaurant. The front desk staff was very efficient.

Housekeeping was very pushy. They came around knocking on doors at 9:00am to see who was checked, which check out was at 11:00am. On our way out the entire hallway was fill with dirty towels and linens, you had to walk over which was very unsanitary to me. They had buggy in one spot and each room dirty stuff was dropped in front of the door blocking the hallway😢😢

I didn’t like being charged to rent a microwave that was dirty. When I notified the front desk, nothing was done about it. Also, the fire alarm went off due to something in the kitchen. It was coded as a false alarm with no apology. At 7 ish in the morning. The floor of the elevators could use a little more attention. Maybe they were just short on maintenance crew. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Staff was friendly, room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. Restaurant was reasonably priced.

Seen somewhere that the pool was closed. Didn’t really bother us since we didn’t really have time to use it anyway.

Sandra was at the front desk our whole stay. She was so nice and had a great personality. Unlike other places we have stayed that they check you in and out with no heart behind it. I didn’t go in to check out with my husband and I wish I would have said goodbye to her.
