Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Salem, an IHG Hotel

The manager working during my check-in was wonderful. She was kind, socialable, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious and convenient for my entire family. I loved the built-in bench in the room; it was convenient to have and useful. The staff cleaning around the facility were nice and approachable. It was a comfortable environment to be in when staying at a hotel.

Some staff were not so nice on occasions. When I was initially booking my rooms on booking.com, I requested conjoined rooms. I also called the week of and the day of my check-in to make sure I was getting conjoined rooms. Needless to say, I did not have that. But, the manager during my check-in made an attempt to find what I requested.

Good breakfast

Booking. com DID NOT MAKE THE RESERVATION. There was no reservation by Booking in the motel's system. They looked and searched for 15 to 20 minutes. Finally, they worked it out for us since they had a room available. So, we do appreciate the motel. Booking has failed us BIG TIME and we are considering finding our room reservations another way.

Beds are very comfortable, rooms are extra big, showers huge, clean, lots of amenities. Decorated really nice and modern. Overall it's really nice and upscale. Well lighted, most outlets worked.

I would ask for a room on the top floor for light sleepers, people were stomping up and down til 2am then 6am. It's noisy when it's crowded. I had a do not disturb on my door, but the housekeeping came in anyway, it was a little strange. Peepholes in doors are blocked, it'd be nice if that was fixed. But its a really nice place!

Super clean, has everything you could possibly need, numerous charging ports and electric outlets. Lots of shelves and hooks, large bathroom. Outdoor Pool was not heated and super cold. Breakfast was the usual mediocre fare. But the room was great, the staff was friendly and plenty of parking Would definitely stay here again.

It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I’ve stayed at multiple hotels in the area and this was my best experience yet. We will definitely be staying here again!

TV services. Some hotels offer the option to connect to Netflix and Hulu through the hotel TV. This hotel has satellite cable and I would have preferred alternatives.

Hot breakfast

We were on the 1st floor and our friends were on the 2nd floor, not close together at all. The location wasn't very good as there is nothing around there to grab a bite to eat, walk wise. We were on motorcycles and after traveling 6-8 hours, once we were at the hotel, we didn't want to ride anymore.

My husband and I were midway in a 12 hour drive from PA to AL and chose this hotel as a stopover. While in PA I had fallen in a shower. It did a fair amount of damage to my knee resulting in a full leg splint and crutches. When checking in, we were put in a handicap room and it was a Godsend. It was very little distance from the desk and had a walk in shower with a pull down seat! Toilet was high with lots of grab bars. Yay! I sincerely appreciate the ease of this room. Many thanks guys!

Couldn't seem to be able to get internet the morning after checking in.

The guys that were working the front desk for the 2 evenings while we were there were the best. They were very friendly and helpful and made you feel at home. They are a asset to the company.

The only problem we had was day of check out the house keeper came in before we had left. We would still stay at this property in the future as we had a great experience.

The proximity to the highway was awesome! Just be careful when going around the roundabout. Get off as if you are going to get gas b/c you have to go through gas station/restaurant to access hotel. Breakfast was as expected and all staff were nice.

Our toilet leaked water, so we did get a new room. Rooms could use a bit of updating but really it was fine for a 1 night stay.

They were very accommodating for my family of five. The fact there was 2 tvs in the room made it great for the kids to watch their show and us parents watch ours. The gym though small was enough to get my workout in. The breakfast was kid friendly. And I loved that it was not in a crowded area where you have to fight traffic.
