The location, the ease of access from the station.

There is no 24 hour room service/restaurant within the hotel for food. There are 4 coffee pods, 2 glasses, 2 sets of different sugars and just 2 creamers - It didn’t balance out & no stirrer. blBreakfast was not included in the tarriff.

The restaurant food was very good. The ribeye was huge, cooked expertly, and the sides hit it out of the park. The gym is not your standard hotel gym. Nice Life Fitness machines in their own area, dumbbells up to probably 60lbs, and plenty of cardio equipment (some peloton machines in there). Pool is small and 4.5 at the deepest but it’s clean and is in a glass wall/roof area.

Parking. Got the valet service when checking in. Big sign saying “$62 over night” (plus other hourly rates and whatnot but overnight was the highest charge). We handed the keys over when we checked in and called the valet upon checkout. $62 per day,+$20 “destination fee”,+ $4 “destination fee tax”. Really put off by the lack of transparency. Unless you want to spend $85 a day to park your car, find a garage nearby and walk.

The fact that it has a store and Starbucks in the hotel. Rooms were spacious.

The lobby and restaurant area was a tad too cold, but acceptable. Due to location took a lot of taxis, but taxi cost was reasonable.

Very spacious room, they were able to provide a pack n' play for our 10 month-old baby. The room and facilities in general were very comfortable. Breakfast was good-tasting, varied and was served from 6:30am to 12pm, ideal for travel with family. The hotel has a fantastic location in a quiet area, well connected to transportation and a walking distance from the National Mall. Our housekeeper Evelyn was adorable, friendly and took great care of us. The breakfast hostess was also super friendly.

The man who checked us in when we arrived was not very friendly or informative. We did arrive at 11:00pm on a Friday, not a great day and time to be working, but we also had a very long day of travel and expected more kindness and empathy. If not for this employee, I would have ranked the hotel with a 10.

The food was well prepared and delicious with a wide variety to choose from. The dining staff were always on top of it making sure we got what we needed in a timely manner.

That the elevators were always full and slow at servicing all the guests. We often had to wait more than 10 mins just to go down to the lobby. Also the escalators where not a good way to come in and go out for those of us who had strollers. I got assistance to take my belonging up and down the escalators the 1st day thereafter no one offered to help up until the day we checked out.

The location was great, as was the interior design / presentation of the property, there were several conferences going on during my stay - and I could see why, it was a great place to be at.

The staff could have informed me of the additional charges they were going to make to my account once I paid. There was a $100 difference between what was on the bill and what I paid. While I now understand that it was a incident fee that will eventually be reimbursed, I feel that this should have been communicated to me before I made any inquiries.

professionalism of working staff

treatment at front desk from check in clerk. he was apparently not accustomed to checking in a black woman. he was nervous. could not find my reservation. did not give me my breaksfast coupon. I had to attain it the next day. other than thiis one specific white american male, the remaining staff was excellent.

The room was spacious and had a fridge. Beds were just perfect. We enjoyed breakfast were we were being served - and the fact that this was the only place during our vacation were we did not get plastics but silverware! Sustainability matters! We also liked the proximity to Union Station and to the Capitol and the Circulator bus stop. For lunch we can highly recommend the West Wing Café around the corner.

The indoor pool was open late which we appreciated but it was, on the other hand, less appealing than all the other pools that we saw on our trip. Water temperature could be a little bit higher too for the kids. A hot tub would also be a bonus. AC is also an issue during breakfast: it just does not make sense to cool down the hotel to felt ~50°F. 70°F would be perfect for everybody. But again, in general the hotel was great! We loved it!

The room was really spacious for American standards with a view to the fountain close to the capitol. The Hotel itself is located no more than 10 min by feet from union station (where you may arrive when going with Amtrak-trains). its about 5-10 minutes to the capitol and some 20 min to the White House and the obelisk. Its generally a calm and empty area, but seems really safe (especially in comparison with e.g. NYC). around the corner are also a bus-stop to go to Georgetown (D6) and a Walmart (about 10 min by feet). Honestly - should be more like a 9.5 probably.

The Hotel is amazing and definitely has some amazing staff. It does however feel sometimes very much like a business-hotel (nothing bad - just something to consider when booking as a couple). E.g. Amazing pool and fitnesscenter , but no view or spa (if you care bout this).
