We have stayed at Oglebay many times over the years. We always look forward to a clean room and relaxing and entertaining getaway. Oglebay always provides this. The staff is wonderful.

We had very loud and intoxicated groups of guys in the rooms near us. They took our porch chairs to their porch so we could not enjoy our outside area. They partied obsessively and loudly throughout the night. Had s difficult time sleeping and staying asleep. We we afraid to complain since it may have been obvious that any complaints would have come from us. I know they left a mess when they checked out so it was obvious to the staff that they were disruptive.

The on-site restaurant glassworks grille was yummy and accommodating, loved the Oglebay burger!! The indoor pool was great with my 3 year old daughter! The coffee shop was great for breakfast snacks and coffee on the go! We loved the rubber flooring in the playground and the lake with swan paddle boats! The good zoo was great!! Resort hiking trails abundant and sweet shop so cute! All well maintained! It was too cold for the outdoor pool but looked so amazing! Our room was a little dated with some stains on the bench at the foot of the bed but overall very nice. They are currently renovating some of the rooms.

We LOVE Oglebay!! My family and I have been coming yearly for about 25 years for a family reunion. My husband and I got married at Oglebay 5 years ago so it’s a special place for me! I love all of the activities they offer, how beautiful the views are, the cleanliness of the property, and the very helpful staff!

My only SMALL complaint would be the beds in the lodge are uncomfortable for my husband and I but that’s honestly personal preference we like a soft mattress and they have a hard mattress-not a deal breaker just something small to mention.

the outdoor pool was so crowded that we couldn't get lounges either day. there should be a section marked off for lodge guests. the hot tub indoors had the chlorine level too high and it ruined my bathing suit and made me itch so bad (after 15 minutes) that I had to take a Benadryl. I was miserable. spoke to the pool staff the next morning about it and they didn't even grunt a reply or concern.

Location was scenic, great facilities and the hotel is beautiful. So much to explore and none of it is extra except the spa and I’d imagine golf. Pool, library, gardens, botanical area, ZOO, all included and without “resort fees” most places charge. The area is hard to navigate (narrow, windy mountain road- I would not arrive or depart at night). Worth it for the views. Room was very nice, enjoyed the balcony. Hotel itself is huge and well appointed, if a bit outdated. Excellent price for a resort such as this.

The Glass-something grill was terrible. None of us liked our food, the liquor used in my cocktail was bottom-shelf and the meal cost more than our room (for lunch!). Service was great, just bad food. We ate off-property the rest of our stay. Also, housekeeping comes around at 9:00AM on the dot and starts pounding on all the doors yelling “Housekeeping!” Everyone stepped out into the hallway in their pjs confused and asking why they’re yelling. It was odd, but the only less than optimal interaction I had with the staff.

the property is quaint and cozy with a very hospitable environment over all.

the pool area has become dilapidated over the 20 plus years that I have been coming here. I have enjoyed the amenities with my husband & out 2 kids who are now 30&35 yrs old for many years as they were growing up. The hot tub,sauna and pool area are now filthy with no updates or remodeling during the 20 plus years that I've been coming here. there is a film of thick grease/dirt in the hot tub, the pool water is green, the sauna has many broken or split wooden slats and has a stench that made it impossible to enjoy.

Beautiful! Could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay! I want to bring my grandson here, this is great for kids and adults. They were full but it is so big that it not feel packed. We felt closer to nature. The flowers and gardens were the the biggest and most beautiful I have ever seen. The story behind the resort is endearing. This resort does not leave you wanting for anything. You come here to reset. It's indescribable.

Tracy at the front desk was very helpful, even sent us a microwave to heat specialty food. Food service manager, Will was a big help dealing with a severe food allergy. Brandon was a delightful and efficient waiter. Nikka was a wonderful massage therapist.

There should be a food allergen list available online! It would have been so much easier to prepare for food choices ahead of time.

The facilities, grounds and landscaping are extraordinary.

There was a severe thunderstorm storm and tornado warning that knocked the power out. I feel the management could have done a better job of keeping everyone update on what was going on with the power. It was still out when left the next morning and the staff did nothing to help keep us informed or have our needs met during the outage.

Loved the golf courses and the outdoor pool. The land was beautiful.

Service very slow in the restaurants. You need a bellman to direct people to their rooms. Very confusing. It took us quite awhile to find our room and we were carrying all of our luggage. Someone should show you the way. We saw several elderly people carrying a lot of luggage a long way.
