DoubleTree by Hilton Madison Downtown

Loved this hotel! It is conveniently located to everything on the UW_Madison campus and everything is walkable from the hotel. The hotel staff was remarkable. Everyone was friendly and went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay the best possible. The room was spotless, as were the public areas of the hotel. From the lobby, I don't think we ever waited for an elevator and minimal wait for the elevator from our floor. The food in the hotel bar was very good and reasonability priced, a nice change of pace for a hotel bar/restaurant.

The location was great. Very close to campus. The room was comfortable, bed was comfortable. The lighted make-up mirror was a nice addition. I loved the warm cookie and water bottle upon arrival. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The shower had a leak and it was difficult to fall asleep with the drip, drip, drip. I could hear it even after I closed the bathroom door. After listening to it for a while trying to sleep, I ended up putting a towel in a trash bin to catch the water quietly. I didn't tell the front desk because it was after midnight when I first noticed it (when I went to bed). I was only staying one night. I'm sure if I had reported it, they would have fixed it or moved us to a different room. Too bad I noticed so late! Also there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the mirror fogged up and it took a while to clear after I showered.

the people were all extremely friendly and helpful, best I've seen. shower was good, bed was the comfiest hotel bed I ever slept in. they held my suitcase after checkout so I could walk the city. this location might be the best possible location to easily get to everything good in the city. everything was just perfect

even by jacked up hotel bar standards, the bar prices were ridiculous, well beyond what is normal even on the scale of hotel bars. also their little convenience store section could probably do with a few more options, if you just wanted to come down for a soda or something there aren't many choices

Fantastic location for walking the campus and downtown areas. Also the staff was efficient, friendly and hospitable (here's to you Aereal). Finally, the bed, pillows and room temperature were comfy and helped allow for a refreshing night's sleep.

There did not appear to be a stairs to take from the lobby (1st floor) to the parking garage (2nd level). This caused an unnecessary wait for the times we needed to quick dash to our car for any items or errands.

clean, staff was exceptional, especially Libby at front desk, we had a unique and uncommitted n problem that would have affected whether or not we could have stayed there or not and due to Libby’s quick thinking she came p with the perfect solution and saved us a lot of hassle! She is truly amazing at her job.

the are was a little sketchy

A great value in downtown Madison! Walking distance to nearly everything, near the campus and the capitol. Convenient off-street parking, with a very secure entry to the hotel. The pleasant surprise was the bar and restaurant. The bartender was at the top of his game, making two superb versions of our favorite cocktails efficiently, delivering them with a smile. The front desk staff couldn't have been better, cheerful and professional.

Not a thing!

The hotel was beautiful, the cookies were the best thing for sure, complimentary shuttle bus was a neat add on as well.

The only thing that was not liked was we could only have 1 car per room. We had 3 guests, which 1 was not able to show up until Saturday and she had her own car. A little ridiculous if I paid almost $500 for a room.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful The hotel offered great amenities and has a great location.

There was no housekeeping service. I would have liked to have known this so I could request clean towels. The morning we were leaving we had no clean towels and the hotel phone didn't work so it wasn't as quick to request towels. Communicating this information would be helpful and avoid issues like this.

I'm a veteran traveler and hard to please, but this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Room was clean, comfortable, and the restaurant served good food. Convenient parking in the hotel garage. So many college town hotels are subpar, but this one is 5 star

Great location near the University of Wisonsin and surrounded by restaurants and near the lakes. My kids loved the welcome cookies.

Bed was a little soft for me but I like firmer mattresses.
