The staff - 11/10 for manager Lily and receptionists Huy, Som and Queen, who were outstandingly friendly and kind - please refer to other reviews here, the superlatives aren’t hype, they are genuinely nice people. Oh, and not forgetting Tang, the bellboy who was unfailingly polite and helpful! The room was in the smallish side, but very comfortable (the bed was good) but not much of a view from the window. The housekeepers were amazingly efficient and the room was spotless. Breakfast isn’t great for vegetarians, but just a short walk away is a very good vegan restaurant. Would I recommend? 100% Would I stay here again? 100% Thank you Lily and team! 😊

The staff at the hotel are an experience of itself. Seldom have I experienced such good service and attention, without it feeling intrusive. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a servicedminded and helpful staff, who quickly responded to our needs and questions. The breakfast at the hotel is a treat to start the day with, and the freshly made pancakes and omelette helped us ease into our travelling adventure. To top it off, Lily (the hotel manager) was a delight and helped us regarding trips and general questions about Hanoi. To anyone wanting to visit Hanoi on a budget but doesn't want to skimp on ammenities, please take this hotel into consideration.

The building is a little old, with a peculiar room design, but do you actually plan on spending your entire day in a bed? The room has all the amenities you would need, and the people working here are great at making you feel welcome!

We enjoyed our stay at Golden Legend Palace Hotel. Though on outskirts of the Old Quarter, this hotel is within the bus pickup zone & only a short walk to the main lake area. We took advantage of the airpot pickup for $US18 & are glad we did. It is a long drive & our driver Jai kept us amused, warned of potential problems & taught us some useful Vietnamese phrases. Lilly is exceptional - extremely friendly, efficient & does everything at this hotel. There was a problem with our booking but Lilly sorted it out to our satisfaction. Lilly also books transportation & tours. The price for the bus to Giang was the same as internet price for a different company & Lilly was quick to help when the bus was late for our pickup. The owners should reward Lilly for the incredible difference she makes to the experience of the guests staying here. Lilly makes a huge effort to sort guest’s problems & is by far the most helpful & competent hotel employee we met in Vietnam. Our suite was nice & comfortable. The breakfast buffet choice is extensive of both Asian & Western foods plus you can order extra things from the menu. Everything was delicious, especially the array of fresh fruits. We are happy this hotel provides free filtered water for refills (along with two water bottles a day) to cut down on environmental problems of plastic. We recommend this hotel & would stay here again thanks to Lilly.

Though the huge glass to the bathroom has a blind, the light still shines out at night disturbing the other sleeper.

The hotel is so so clean cozy and properly setup. Rooms are same as pictured and have all the required electric equipments. They do provide all the necessary toiletaries including brush toothpaste razors so less worries :) They clean the room everyday so rooms are very clean no matter how long you stay Lily, the manager of hotel and Quen are so nice and welcoming. She helps in every possible way to make your stay joyful. Once you walk in they provide you the overview of all the nearby locations and attractions along with a map witch is the best part. Breakfast is also good with seasonal fruits, bread jam butter and other options in non veg. Pros: The hotel is located in city centre All the markets and other attractions are on walkable distance Provide all required assistance

The welcome, the friendly and helpful staff from Lily, the manager, Huy at the front desk,Men the chief to Dung the Bellman. Arranged airport pick up and drop off. Nice comfortable bed. Laptop room safe. Tea and coffee making facilities. The nice quite location in the Old Quarter, only about a ten minute walk to the bustling weekend night market and the very popular Bar streets. Great street map available at reception marking places of interest.

Maybe a couple of English TV channels, but I was not in Hanoi to watch TV. There is simply so many other interesting things to do and see.

The staff! They treat you not as guests but as acquaintances on the way to being good friends. I was even treated to a free room upgrade (from superior room to family suite)! They asks how you are doing or if there’s anything they can help you with without being overbearing. While breakfast is already served early, my flight would require me to be at the airport prior to service. When I asked if I could just have anything to bring to the airport, they didn’t promise anything but said they will try their best to help me out. Lo and behold, I was given bread and butter, yogurt and banana upon checkout. Really excellent customer service.

I hope they would be able to maintain the property. I was already noticing some paint chips specially in corners of the room.

We only stayed 1 night as a stopover on our way to Sapa. Staff were very good at communication via WhatsApp and were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had to leave at 7am and they had breakfast available from 6:30 for us! The bed was comfy, the aircon was good, everything was clean. Breakfast was OK - the usual hotel breakfast for Vietnam. However, their fruits were outstanding - perfectly ripe mango, dragon fruit, pineapple and watermelon. 💓 The bathroom was clean and functional. Word of warning for Westerners - it's one of those ones with the window wall to the bedroom. Proper weird and hilarious for us. 😅

We liked everything. The only thing I'd say - this hotel is nice but in a sort of middle range way. (3 stars, probably)

Very friendly staff. Great to be so close to the lake and old quarter. Extremely quiet at night. Also I enjoyed having a bath! Lovely breakfast too.

Bit of confusion as I was given a room with balcony although I had booked one without. As it was their mistake, the manager said I need not pay extra but this did not get communicated to the receptionist who wanted me to pay the higher price, until she realised what had been agreed. But this was a small thing and the staff were all so lovely and the room was so quiet at night, I will definitely stay there again and thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Stayed in the Golden Legend Palace Hotel in Hanoi with my teenage daughter over Easter holidays. We initially only booked 2 nights but the location and the staff in the hotel were so good that we decided to use it as a base for our trips to Sa Pa and Halong Bay. Lily and the rest of the staff were excellent providing us with lots of information, helping us book the trips, Lily even went with my daughter to one of the Spas to get a better price for having her nails done!! For the trips we travelled light and were able to leave the big luggage in the hotel. The rooms are not the biggest but the beds are super comfy and there is Wifi everywhere (in general in Hanoi you get free WIFI everywhere, every cafe or restaurant) The hotel is very centrally located (to the lake, night market, Puppet Theatre ist a 5 min walk) but in a little side street so a bit away from the crazy Hanoi traffic. The breakfast ist great, there is lots of fruits and western style things but also local dishes, fried rice and noodles and on top you can order extra things like pancakes, omletets etc. Breakfast was included in the price and set us up for the day!

Nice hotel in a very convenient location, within walking distance to many visiting points. The room included free breakfast, which was fairly decent (considering the price of the room), and the room itself was good enough size, clean and cozy. Finally, the staff was also exceptional and quite attentive. I would totally recommend it as a great price for value in a great location!

Not much that I would add here. As I shared in the positive section, this is a great place and value for money - don't expect the quality of a 5-star hotel (because you'd probably pay 5 times more), but for its price, I believe it is a pretty good value in return and very conveniently located.
