This boutique hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi is beautifully appointed in old world glamour with modern convenience. Perfectly located on Hang Gai Street, all the action is at your doorstep. The service was exceptional with attention to detail especially evident. The staff made us feel very special and was always there to help. The buffet breakfast is top notch. Also they have a huge beautiful Christmas tree outside. We really enjoyed our stay here!

As the buildings in the old quarter are small, the rooms and bathroom is on the compact side, however have been designed to make most of the space and still made comfortable. There was no view from our windows on the 3rd floor.

We stayed in a room with a terrace. Very spacious room, clean and very comfortable. The shower, bathtub, bath amenities, everything was well provided. The flowers in the room, fruit and wine service was delightful. The sauna, spa, and pool were always open and very refreshing after a long, sweaty walk through the old town. I wanted to shop daily in the old town, so the location here was perfect. Everything is within walking distance. Breakfast was also a pleasure, and I enjoyed it every day. I would like to mention that the service staff here was excellent. They are always warm and courteous in their welcome and respond instantly to requests. The room cleaning staff did a wonderful job as well. Especially Mia, your hospitality was better than any 5 star hotel. She was very helpful in communicating with us via email after booking, calling us at the airport, and smoothly resolving any issues throughout our stay. Mia made our stay zero stress and we were very impressed! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all your staff. Next time I visit Hanoi, I will definitely stay here again.

Everything about the hotel was perfect, the warm service provided by the receptionists, the helpful travels desk, the room facilities, the location, and the breakfast. The staff here speaks perfect English (way better than the custom at the airport😂) and are always willing to help. The facilities are excellent. Before I booked the hotel, I compared to lots of other choices in the old quarter and saw that the water pressure of the shower and the noise at night are common problems of hotels in the area. But Le Chanvre was great! It’s on a quiet street of this busy area and the shower works fine as well. Have to mention that as the hotel located in the center of the old quarter, it provides great convenience to explore the city. Almost everything is in walking distance. We totally enjoy the stay here. The breakfast was decent with a wide range of choices from traditional Vietnamese dishes to western ones. The coffee was so good. I even asked for the brand of coffee beans before I left haha. Choose the hotel if you are traveling here! You won’t regret it.

Location was fantastic. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the staff were all very friendly. Service recovery for when things didn't meet expectations were very good as well. I'd totally go back to this hotel again if I go back to Hanoi.

It's the weirdest thing that their policy forbids the provision of bottled water beyond the daily 2 bottles - their bottle are also the smaller size. In my experience, even in more expensive cities, they don't usually cite policy when we ask for a little more water. Although they did in the end accept our request, we made it a point to get our own water from then on. Also, there are stairs leading to the main door, it would be kinder if they did have someone on standby to help with bags, particularly around the check in time. They do help, but as they are stationed inside, it's by the time we are at the top of the stairs. It could be because we were travelling during Tet, and they have less staff than usual?

A more accurate description of the property to help choose the correct hotel. There was no restaurant, no room service, the pool was small and only 2 people could sit by the pool. It was not soundproof and could hear others and housekeeping in the hall way. The bar was under renovation and no mention of this. Over priced for what you got. Would not give you password for wifi and handed phone over for staff to enter password. Lighting in room was dark, no light above desk or desk lamp…very poor

New hotel that opened in Aug 2023, with consistent good service across all areas of the hotel - At the door, Reception, Breakfast dining, Room Cleaning... Well trained customer-focused staff. I shall return to this hotel on my next trip Enjoyed the good variety and quality of food choices at Breakfast - such as Pho, Congee, Eggs cooked to your requirement, Assortment of Cheeses, Make your own Salad, Local Fruits, Nice freshly grounded Vietnamese coffee, Homemade soya bean drink, and some local cooked food dishes that changed everyday. In particular, the staff at the breakfast dining were exceptionally helpful with all aspects of the breakfast - Seating, Helping to bring items to the table, Attentive to requests, and even remembering our preferences from the previous day. Had a great experience with the breakfast team there whenever we started the day...

Something that would greatly help with my hotel experience would be to provide a water cooler to fill our water bottles.

French Indochine interior design this hotel is beautiful in every way possible - from the exquisite spacious rooms to the exemplary service, the spotless bathrooms to the welcoming smiles of the reception and door staff, everyone working at this hotel made us feel special and truly well looked after. Practical points: 1. location is at the heart of the old quarter, sights smells sounds abound, there’s so much to do and see that you won’t need to venture too far. We walked to most places including the West lake area. If going further then a Grab taxi is an easy and cheap way to get around. 2. Get breakfast here! It’s amazing.. a relaxed but fine dining experience. And if you’re pushed for time, the stage will sort out a takeaway, neatly packaged to go! 3. Excursion to Sapa! Car and diver organised by the hotel at competitive rates.

Location was perfect, walking distance to all we wanted to see and close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast served a variety of dishes both western and Asian. Room was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable. Staff all went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay, from reception to dining to cleaners. Lovely to have a pool to cool down at the end of a day!

Room was slightly on the small side and the view wasn’t great but we were only in the room to sleep so not a real issue, hotel has been recently renovated to a very high standard but not all open as yet.

The location was central in old quarter. The hotel and rooms were very clean. Rooms were spacious with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming especially Mia with good English. We got plenty of hints from them for good restaurants and other things to do during our stay in Hanoi. breakfast buffet selection was good..especially the beef pho. The roof top pool area was good for a late afternoon cool down

The location is fantastic for experiencing Hanoi. The welcome was so lovely, the staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more attentive and ready to give local advice. We had to delay our stay due to flight issues and the hotel were really understanding and communicative. The breakfast was one of the best that we had the whole time in Vietnam.

The room was a little small if you were staying for a long time but it was perfect for our short stay.
