I booked this hotel because of the location which is very convenient in Hanoi. The price was low so my expectations were not very high but It turned out to be an excellent choice that exceeded my expectations. Even before I arrived I received a WhatsApp message from Sophie from Guest Relations providing me with information. I had some issues getting the A/C to work and the problem was addressed immediately. The hotel was clean, there was plenty of hot water with good pressure for a shower. Everyone at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. There were not many choices for breakfast but the food was tasty. They even gave me a bite to go on a morning when I had an early tour and no time for sit-down breakfast. Kudos to Sophie and the team at Lucky 3 Hotel.

My only complaint about the property is that they did not mention in the notes that they would charge 4% for using a credit card for payment. And one other thing to note is that usually when a kettle is available in a room there is some tea or coffee also provided but here there was only a kettle.

Location and price

No coffee, nor tea bags in the room, only an electric pot and small cup for espresso.

This hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk to all attractions and great local shopping, it was spotlessly clean, we had a fantastic balcony which was great to sit out on on hot nights and relax with a drink, they also serve a wonderful breakfast and you have a choice of Pho, eggs, fresh fruits,yoghurt etc. also juice and coffee, it’s a lovely old building in the old quarter which is fascinating, but what really made our holiday perfect was the wonderful staff, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, from the cleaning staff who cleaned our room daily, to the reception staff who helped us out with taxis and directions for ATM and restaurants, if I return to Hanoi I will definitely stay there again, this is highly recommended to anyone who wants a fantastic experience for a great price, they also were extremely flexible with our late arrival, and they provide airport pick up and drop off, do yourself a favour and book here and I hope you have a perfect holiday just as we did here.

Nothing it was fantastic

The staff were very kind and helped us after our first night. They offered us a different room which was more quiet.

The walls are not insulated, so you hear everything that happens inside the building. The first night we slept on the 3rd floor and couldn't sleep because of the noise from the lobby and because the room next to us checked in at 4am. You hear literally everything! For the next 2 nights we moved to a room on the 6th floor, where you can't hear what's going on in the lobby but you can still hear from the hallway and the rooms next to you. We slept with earplugs so it was tolerable. The communication with the manager was unbearable. He was rude and made us want to leave immediately. On the other hand, the girls at the reception were great and very helpful. The room could be more clean and the beds are *very* hard

This hotel is amazing! We loved the interior decor, with comfortable wooden flooring in a classical style, massive beds and a powerful shower. The staff were very helpful and speak very good English. We've stayed in many places throughout Vietnam and this is one of the best. The buffet breakfast is amazing, with as much coffee as you can drink and the food gets refilled so you can have as much as you want Thanks for a wonderful stay

This is an excellent hotel, fantastic value for money located in the Old Quarter. The staff were so friendly and supportive. I received an amazing welcome and when I return to Hanoi, I will be booking this hotel again. The breakfast was delicious and the view from the roof top restaurant of Hanoi was amazing.

Character full no fuss hotel in excellent location for Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake & Train Street where you're likely to spend evenings. Free wi-fi, laundry service, happy to look after bags if you're trekking up North. Easy to find too!

Nothing really - car / bike horns at night but that's central Ha Noi for you

Very helpful and honest staff. Balcony was great to have. Balcony doors good for noise reduction. Location felt very central.

Operating the over bath shower was tricky. Not obvious how it worked and water temperature was dangerously hot if you got it wrong

Plug in the bath did not work which was disappointing as I was really looking forward to having a bath. It's a small thing but the light switches were a bit confusing. The WiFi access points could have done with an upgrade. They were running WiFi 4 which is not designed for so many devices. Upgrade to 5 or 6 for a smoother experience for everyone. Higher quality windows to help sound proof from the street would have been good

The photos of course shows some kind of real image of the room, but heavily photoshopped. Our room had a window that was overlooking the wall, so technically we didn't have a window at all. The worst was that from that "window" was no light but horrible sound whole night of some kind of engine. Very disturbing. Especially that we had a super special suit room which was supposed to be a higher level.
