Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne Southbank

We were a family of 4 and we stayed in Adina Apartment hotel for 6 nights during December 2023. We had 2 connecting rooms. 1 room with a king bed, small sitting area with a couch, table and 4 chairs, kitchen area with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and a stove. The shower area was divided into a small shower area, pot and a sink area. The apartment was very compact and was well designed. The apartment also has a washer and dryer. The connecting room a much smaller room with 2 twin beds, a tiny kitchen area (with small refrigerator) a table and a chair. The bathroom had a walk in shower. Here are things we liked: Location of the Apartment: The Apartment is located on 99 City Road. It is just 2 blocks from the Yarra river Promenade. The promenade is lined with restaurants and a great place to spend the evenings. The bridge to get on the other side of Yarra river was easily accessible. The closest tram stop was at the intersection of Flinders Street/Queen Street, that was 5 mins walk from the Apartment. Getting on to M1 was very easy from this place. Woolworths the grocery store was a 3-5 mins walk from the back roads. The apartment was spotless. The cleaning was done everyday, towels replaced, dishwasher loaded, laundry detergent/dishwasher soap replaced etc etc.... The front desk people were very helpful while suggesting restaurants, they were very helpful with any of the questions we had for them. They helped us with all the information we need in the Melbourne area. The Apartment has parking about 2 mins walk from them. You can park the car there for 35AUD per night. The taxi fare to the Adina Southbank from the airport was about 68-70 AUD.

Why am I giving it a 8 star: We parked the car only for 4 days out of the 6 days we stayed in this apartment. But we are charged for the whole 6 days. We didn't realize that our credit card was charged for 6 days, until we got back home after spending 3 more weeks in Australia. When I wrote to the apartment people, they want proof/written documentation of my conversation with the front desk person, who agreed to charge me only for 4 days instead of 6 days. I still don't understand how to provide this proof and why they cannot see in the system that they validated my ticket only for 4 times and not for 6 times. They still went ahead and charged me for 6 days. The almost perfect experience is Adina left a bad taste in the end for sure.

We liked the area which was close to the river and an easy 20 minute walk to the tennis. Southbank is great for hospitality as the river is lined with restaurants and bars. Also it is close to the trams which take you around the city loop for free. Liked that the reception was helpful with queries and stored our luggage for a few hours on the last day. The indoor pool and gym were great. Small apartment but comfortable and clean with a nice city view.

Would have liked a coffee machine in the apartment, though the coffee from the café in reception was good.

Excellent accommodation is a very convenient location, close to Flinders Street Station and Southbank Promenade, Botanical Gardens and City.

Everything, rooms, facilities, location was very central.

I could not check-in with my digital credit card and driver's licence. This was really annoying as this was not advised in the multiple messages and confirmation from the apartments. Thankfully my wife had these, after having to change the name of the Booking made on booking.com and 30mins later once the receptionist got the email from booking.com we were allowed to check in. I suggest the requirement for physical cards is made very clear in booking confirmations, as i was not the only customer in this situation at the time another customer had nothing.and had to book / pay again. Is digital really helpful and convenient? Maybe not at Adina Apartments.

Had a 1 bedroom apartment. Great size for 2 people. Was on the top floor so there was no street noise and a great view. Swimming pool was a nice way to relax with lounges and pillows provided. Had a full size refrigerator, oven, hot plate , dishwasher and microwave with basic cutlery and crockery. Staff were helpful. King size bed was very comfortable.

Had problems parking our car on Saturday night. Most parks for the hotel are at Wilson car park near Skydeck. We were stopped from parking as the attendant said it was only for pre booked parking. The desk attendant came and tried to rectify the situation but was not successful. He did find us parking elsewhere.

The staffs are amazing. Due to flight delays, we arrived at 1:30 am in the morning (on 10/30). Despite of this late, the lady who greeted us was very nice and welcoming. Although the oringinal assignment of our apartment was not what we ordered (we wanted a twin room, instead of a double room), she went all the way to check the empty apartments to find us a twin room, at 1:30 in the morning! She is amazing! The apartment was nicely designed, and even has laundry in room, which is a huge plus for people who travel in AZ for a few weeks. Will definitely stay in Adina again.

We had a 2brm, 2bth apartment and asked the bed figuration to be 4 singles (mumma's weekend). Hotel is close to everything, easy walk across the river into the city (bridge access is near the Langham entry point to South Bank, then through a walk way under the train station which comes out at Elizabeth st - for our Degraves laneway cafes for breakfast), South Wharf DFO 15 mins walk for shopping, and an easy 25 mins walk to Rod Laver or AAMI stadiums. IGA and Italian restaurant right next door, both in the same building - ordered our pizza and then picked up some snacks and other holiday with no kids essentials while we waited for our pizza. Room was clean and had everything we needed, check out is 11am and staff were friendly and accommodating, nothing was ever a hassle. Would absolutely stay again.

Beds were a bit soft for my liking(but the other mums in our group liked them) and they would fly across the room if we sat on them or got into bed too quickly. Aircon made 1 bedroom freezing, while the master bedroom was hot and muggy as there wasn't separate controls. Minor things really.

I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment and it is very spacious with district view (but not facing CBD or Yarra). In room facilities are very good and the room is very clean. Convenient location 4 mnutes walk to Yarra and Flinders Station.

We had a King bed which is very firm (and to our liking) but when one person turns or rolls over in bed, the whole mattress bounces and the motion travels to the other side of the mattress waking up the other occupant. We stayed 3 nights and after the first night, we were both very careful to be as still as possible when turning. The hotel is only 4 min walk from Flinders Station but tram stops are not as close.

We love this hotel and changed another booking to stay here instead. Great welcoming team on arrival and allowed us to check in a couple of hours early, which was great after an extremely early flight from Perth. There was an issue with the room, thanks to the previous guest, but when we showed the reception the images, we were instantly upgraded to a suite and given a bottle of wine for the trouble too. To us, the way things are sorted out speaks volumes and from now on this is our go-to hotel in Melbourne. It is excellent value for money too.

Nothing - great having IGA next for some snacks and beer :-)

Apartment had great facilities; it was very useful to have a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen had a big fridge freezer, microwave, hob and oven and a dishwasher! We got little sachet of washing powder and dishwasher powder plus a bottle of washing up liquid. The bed was comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom (large ones on the wall) were very nice. The pool was great too and had towels. Also it was walkable to main sites in Melbourne.

The bathroom was an odd layout with the toilet and shower having separate doors but they were glass and see through! The bathroom then had 2 wooden sliding doors which you needed to shut if you wanted Privacy.
