Batman's Hill on Collins

The hotel is ideally located for visitors coming from the airport. An easy walk from the Skybus and Southern Cross Station, and located on multiple tram routes through the city. The room had been recently renovated and had a good sized bathroom, comfortable sized room and even a little balcony and chairs looking out over Spencer Street. The staff were helpful and friendly. I have stayed her many times and this was definitely one of the best ones. The main lift took us straight up to our room, so no wandering from lift and corridor looking for the right place. Despite looking out over Spencer street, the room was relatively quiet, even with drilling taking place at 1am right outside!

There was only one rubbish bin located in the bathroom. Whilst not a major issue, it would have been handy to have another one in the main room. The beds did move around a lot, so it would have been handy to have beds with brakes on them to reduce this.

I arrived in Melbourne by train so this was the most convenient place I could have chosen, right across the road from Southern Cross station. My room was nonetheless remarkably quiet. (Not just in terms of traffic noise, either. Once I stepped out of my room and discovered a neighbour was apparently attempting to sing karoake. I couldn't hear any of it inside my room.) After arriving on a late train I appreciated the restaurant on the ground floor, but there were plenty of other options nearby if I'd had more energy. I was on the top floor which gave my room views of blue sky and skyscraper summits, another pleasant surprise.

The room had one of those bathrooms which has been designed by someone who has never used a hotel bathroom. No soap dish on the basin, nor any hand wash in a bottle anywhere near the basin. I took to stepping across the room for a squeeze of the hand-and-body wash mounted in the shower, but that wasn't very convenient after actually taking a shower, because it's one of those superbly stylish on-trend shower recesses without any kind of rim on the floor, so water spills everywhere. If management is reading this - could be mitigated by (1) providing hand wash in a bottle beside the basin and (2) providing a shower curtain which reaches nearly to the floor, instead of leaving an eight-inch gap all round for water to splash through.

Good location. A few steps away from the Southern Cross station. Easy to get around the city by taking the tram which is just literally a few steps away as you walk out the hotel. Walking distance to DFO on South Wharf and Spencer Outlet Centre. Walking along Collins Street and you'll find all these luxury designer brands e.g. LV, Chanel, Tifany's ,etc. The room assigned to us was a little boxy for what we were used to but it's clean nonetheless. Lots of eateries around. The staff were nice and friendly.

The only thing I noticed was there are a lot of stairs but there's no ramp/s. It was a struggle to pull the luggages up the stairs as you can imagine. Not to mention the lack of wheelchair access.

The location was great. Close to Woolworths, BWS and other snacky type eateries. Great to be able to get off the Skybus, cross the road and be at your hotel. Having to take your luggage from the reception desk down 4 steps of stairs wasnt fabulous. The room was lovely and clean.

Could not log into the WIFI supplied. Taking my suitcase up and down stairs from and to my room from the reception desk.

All good apart from access to the economy rooms which needed stairs or a wheelchair lift for heavy baggage

We did not use the hotel's breakfast, but it was very good that all cutlery and crockery were available. Two separate bedrooms were excellent to have. There was a great deal of room for two people. The problem of having the wrong-sized bathplug was very promptly solved by the hotel staff.

The basin in the bathroom was flat instead of draining well like a conventionally-shaped basin does. The basin also had no proper place to rest the soap. The bed had a doona. This usually means the bed temperature is either two warm if it is used or too cool if it is not used at all. At least two blankets should be used to facilitate a comfortable bed temperature.

The location of the property is perfect right next to the major train station which made it easy to get around especially for the races at Flemington.

The property was nice and tidy, but was a bit dated and maybe needs a bit of a revamp. Having to walk through one of the bedrooms as you enter the apartment was a bit weird especially on a trip with friends - wouldn’t be an issue with a family trip though. Would be nice to have had access to a pool or gym on-site too.

It was in the perfect location for marvel Stadium and a extremely close to trains and shops. Room was clean and I had high expectations because I had been there before with friends and the standard was the same as when I went there a year or so before which was extremely comforting to know each guest is treated the same.

I did have a little issue around checking in and out. When checking in the computer was very slow so it took longer than expected but that was okay because I had time to spare, I had also asked for late checkout which I was told was fine, but while cleaning the room before we left we got a call from the front desk tell us we were going to get charged for stay late, this was at 10:25 when late checkout is 11 so I was confused and told them we would be down in 10 minutes, I talked to a man at the front desk and explained to him and he spoke to a manager and the fee was waved but it did make an abrupt and surprising ending to our stay

Stayed one night for proximity to Southern Cross and skybus to airport. Location is fantastic, central, plenty of transport links to wherever you want to go. My fifth floor room was fabulous, still a little street noise but that is to be expected in any city centre. Everything was clean, comfortable, all the amenities you would expect - loved the decor. Wonderful rainfall shower. Staff were friendly.

Only minor issue - Netflix on the tv in my room wasn’t working. Probably just needed reset but as I was only staying one night I didn’t bother the staff with it. Also, I received a lot of emails prior to the stay with discount offers. A bit annoying.
