I liked the location. The room was clean. Basic amenities were provided.

The bathroom: the towels were thin and rough. We quickly ran out of toilet paper. There should be a spare in the bathroom. The staff did bring some toilet paper once we asked. But I thought that was a bit cheap and entirely unexpected. I thought this compared to a third-world country with scarcity everywhere. There is no excuse for this in a country like Canada.

Cartier Place is excellently located! It is within walking distance of many restaurants and cafés. Even the Parliament buildings and Byward market aren't too far either! It was a quiet suite and had a full kitchen and separate living area. Great price for all that you got!

The hotel was right off the main drag for pedestrian and bar traffic but the front desk was not always attended. It would be quite easy for anyone off the street to access the elevators to the rooms. The hotel hasn't been updated since it was built so the suite was bit old fashioned... not exactly run down though. Definitely bring your own blow dryer if you need to use one, the one provided is less than ideal. I managed to find street parking every day but the daily parking rate at the Cartier is $35 and should definitively be considered when booking this hotel.

Location of the hotel is absolutely perfect! You’re not right in the downtown core but you’re less than a $10 Uber from most attractions. Rooms are great, lots of extra space compared to a typical hotel room. Having the separate bedroom is so nice! Makes it like an apartment more than a hotel. Staff were always happy and very helpful. Upgraded our room at no cost due to a booking error on my part.

Nothing bad to say. I wish the restaurant was open but that’s minor inconvenience. The pub right on the corner has amazing food, brunch and dinner options.

This is a great place to stay with little kids - hot tub/pool + outdoor playground + indoor playground are available. Gym is very advanced for a hotel. There are million-trillion of places to eat right nearby+ a beauty salon, a book store and a dollar tree store-) Museum of Natural History is very close as well and is a must visit if you have little kids. I was amazed.

My husband really missed coffee at reception (although they had fresh apples!). If the hotel could just get a machine for dispensing coffee + a jar of half-and-half on ice -this would be great and could save people a trip to Starbucks on a rainy day-)

The location was great central to downtown Ottawa with multiple restaurants nearby. Having a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette worked well for the 3 of us. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Few small issues occurred during our stay - the door locks which used a key seemed out of alignment so would not always unlock. also there is no individual control for heat or air conditioning so found the rooms a bit cool temperature wise (the outside temperature dipped to extreme cold so it was noticeable indoors).

Easily reached on foot from uOttawa Light Rail Station as a connection from the main Ottawa Via Rail station. Great location for exploring the city- all attractions within walking distance. Elgin Street has plenty of cafes and bars for breakfast through to late night drinks. Suites are a good size, great to have the kitchenette area for morning teas/coffees and well equipped if guests wanted to prepare meals too. Bedroom was good size with comfortable beds, and enjoyed having the separate lounge area as well. Used the hotel pool and jacuzzi area and was impressed with facilities. Staff friendly and helpful on the whole- made our group feel very welcome, and accommodated our request for rooms close together on the same floor.

The lighting felt a bit dim in the bedroom as no overhead lights, just table lamps and a small window for natural light. The air con unit was a bit noisy, and the rooms while clean felt a little tired in terms of decoration. At check-in there was a delay in the last of our three rooms being ready so one party couldn't access their room until nearly 5pm, though we do realise that check-in was exceptionally busy that day.

This is our third stay at this hotel. The two bedroom suite is ideal for four people. The full kitchen is an added bonus. Beds were very comfortable as were all chairs in the living area. The pool was a good size and very clean. Location- very convenient for all sightseeing. Easy walk to Parliament, shopping, food outlets and buses including hop on, hop off. Canal is just a block away. We did not use the hotel parking. Indigo parking just a block away is much cheaper. In general, the staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was cleaned every day during our four day stay. This is our hotel of choice when we visit Ottawa.

The air conditioners in the bedrooms were noisy. The shower head was too powerful.

We enjoyed our stay. Walkable distance to the parliament buildings, Rideau centre and Byward market. There is a Farm Boy for groceries a short 5 minute walk away, and a dollerama for snacks steps from the hotel. We enjoyed the pool, and sauna. It was very convenient to have the in-suite kitchen for breakfasts. Was much more spacious than a typical hotel room, which was great for our family. We parked at city hall, which is a short walk away. We parked Friday night, and stayed until Sunday - it ended up costing us 8$ total for parking. Definitely the best option. The negatives- As mentioned the decor is dated, and kitchen appliances older style, but everything was working and clean so fine for us. There was only air conditioning in the living room area, so bedroom got a bit hot and stuffy. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely book again.

The staff were very personable and polite. Always smiling and cheerful. The pool hours were excellent for parents with kids who like to stay up late. The location was great for everything we needed during our stay.

The pool water temperature was a little chilly, but my daughter didn't seem to mind. Unfortunately, the sauna was not operational during our stay, and there was no signage to indicate repairs or reason for closure. Also, the jets for the hot tub were not working... but the temperature was good 👍 As others have written, the room fixtures are dated, and the thermostats need to be updated to digital. The shower head was the same type as I had in college 20 years ago. The Wi-Fi connection advertised free by the hotel was slow, but a faster connection was available for purchase if you wanted to stream movies from your laptop.

The pool was nice to have, and had decent hours. I liked that there was a bar on the premises. I liked that the hotel was quiet. We enjoyed having a suite as opposed to a single room. It was nice to have a balcony.

The water in the pool could have been a bit warmer. We only had one package of coffee and one teabag and the coffee wasn't the right type for the machine so it overflowed and tasted terrible. A tea towel and dish sponge would have been nice to have available as this isn't something people usually bring with them when travelling.
