Divota Apartment Hotel

From the time of our booking to our leaving, the staff especially Lucija, reached out to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They booked both our airport transfers and made sure our room was arranged to our liking. The hotel is made of beautifully designed rooms in quaint buildings in a quiet part of the old town. Location was perfect for everything! I don't think I have stayed in a hotel where the rooms have been so carefully thought out. Nespresso machine, rain shower where you actually could wash your hair and the third bed/couch made a great sitting room. They even had Netflix, plus thank you to the guy who forgot to log out of his HBO account. Breakfast coupons for an amazing restaurant on the water just minutes away. Also, they have a spa!

I loved everything, but if I could make one request, it would be for a makeup mirror. They had a huge well lit mirror in the bathroom, but when your eyes go, they go.

We took the deluxe studio with balcony on Kovacica 20 it was amazing. Modern design, the kitchen is fully equipped, every day cleaning with replenishing Nespresso capsules, dishwashing capsules and washing powder capsules. The breakfast is tasty and available just few minutes walking in another building, you can also get your breakfast delivered to your place in case your trip starts early morning and most important for us was the amazing location very close to the old town of Split and also walking distance to beautiful Marjan hill where you can hike or check out viewpoint with beautiful view of Split. Very helpful and friendly staff. The only thing missing is iron board and iron but you can request it from reception and they will deliver it to your place within few minutes.

The staff at Divota were very friendly and responsive to all enquiries and requests for help during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and all help with restaurant reservations followed up promptly. The apartment was spacious and having 2 levels allowed the grandparents some quite space away from the hubbub. The kitchenette equipped with dishwasher was much appreciated for cups and glasses though we did not cook. Nespresso capsules and teabags were plentifully supplied. 1 of the terraces is a lovely sun trap to sit in for coffee in the morning and the bigger shaded terrace is a great spot for afternoon tea break after a day of sightseeing. The jacuzzi is a fun way to relax. Very quiet side street yet literally minutes away from everything in the old city.

Not much… only the space in the shower and sink in the upstairs toilet is quite small so water does get splashed about unavoidably. We come from a shoe free home so would have appreciated a more thorough vacuum/mop of the floor occasionally during our week’s stay.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a small double with balcony to a superior with balcony. This apartment (Garden House apartment 11) was fantastic, The balcony overlooks a beautiful secluded yoga garden, an exceptional serene space just 10 mins walk from the busy Old Town and harbour. The apartment was contemporary and the shower was one of the best I’ve had recently. Breakfast was included which was provided at a nearby restaurant, no complaints there. We were very grateful for complementary umbrellas on the on the one rainy morning we had. Massages and other treatments are also available at this location. Just watch out for ginger cat in the garden as it's a little crazy :-)

The air conditioning was very good, but the A/C unit has a bright blue power light that lit up the room at night. I found this less than ideal for sleeping.

The staff was helpful, room was nice. We chose a small double and it was small but we had everything we needed. There was a shelf in the bathroom so that is where we kept our suitcases. The location was wonderful, a 5 -10 minute walk to all the sites, but also at the edge of the old city so that we were able to find parking on a local residential street. The public parking lot across the street is always full so not useful. Breakfast was at a large restaurant in a beautiful public square about 5 minutes away. My only issue is that the staircase was a narrow and curved and I was very nervous on it. Would have liked to know that in advance, other rooms do not have this issue.

The property is everything we could have asked for and some more.The staff especially Hrvoje from the front desk, is beyond kind, helpful and knowledgeable. He provided us a room upgrade that turned our stay in Split into a relaxing peaceful event that was much needed after a hot day in a very crowded city. We were excited to come back to a beautiful, large,clean, tastefully decorated , modern room with all the needed amenities. Everything in the room and in the shower was well calculated, top of the line and new. The small romantic balcony had a view of a gorgeous zen garden which made us feel like we were in the middle of an oasis. The included breakfast was being served in a restaurant located in a close promenade and we could start our daily trips without much of a hassle trying to find a breakfast place. We ended up extending our time in Split because of this amazing hotel and the beautiful room we were given by Hrvoje. A huge thank you for an amazing stay.

Nothing, having to leave

Lucia waited for us after a late flight and delay in taxi transfer to show us around. She was very pleasant and professional, giving us a very warm welcome to start our holiday. Clean and comfortable with all necessary facilities. Great air conditioning with optimal temperature. Perfect location for touring around with a high sense of security.

There are some safety concerns in the kitchen area regarding the handrail and the relatively inconspicuous colours of the steps, which could lead to falls. Would have liked to have boxes of facial tissues provided.

The location was perfect and felt very safe. The breakfast was in a stunning nearby restaurant. The welcome and help we received from Hrvoge on our arrival was up there with the best. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would definitely book here again if I were to revisit.

I think it would be unfair to say that there were things I didn’t like. I did think though, the anyone with mobility or health challenges should be mindful that there’s no elevator so to request a ground floor room, but that’s probably the case in most of the older accommodations in Split.

I have mixed feelings about the Divota. The first time we stayed, as the beginning of our trip, our room was much smaller than we expected and the television did not work (later we found out it was broken). The bathroom was very small, however the bed was quite comfortable. The second time we stayed there, at the end of our trip, the room was spacious and the bathroom was elegant. The television in this room didn't work, and I had to buy my own batteries for the remote. So, not all rooms are alike and there are no guarantees which you will get. The location was just outside of Old Town, and unless you are staying there for a few days, it is confusing to find your way.

Consistency of rooms with knowledge beforehand, televisions that work...not that we were in the room much, but when we were resting, it was nice to have it on. Not crazy about the location, though close enough to the hubbub, if you can find your way!

The Divoata Apartments are a perfect base for your time in Split! Comfortable space within a few minutes walk of the main pedestrian areas and waterfront. I highly recommend Divota! We were in #402 which is a two level space with a large outdoor patio. Comfortable bed, great finishes, and great location! The staff was very helpful. We did not take advantage of their spa services and bike rental, but how nice to have the options. And they include a breakfast at a nearby restaurant which was lovely. Look no further. Plus how nice to get some laundry done with your own washer!
