Murum Heritage Hotel

Murum Boutique Rooms is a small, upscale accommodation facility located in the heart of Split, Croatia. It is situated within the historic Diocletian's Palace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name "Murum" is derived from the Latin word for "wall," signifying the property's connection to the ancient Roman walls of the palace. I recently stayed at Murum Boutique Rooms and had a truly exceptional experience. The property is ideally located in the heart of Split, within the historic Diocletian's Palace, offering easy access to popular tourist attractions and a variety of restaurants and shopping. The boutique rooms are a perfect blend of modern amenities and historical charm. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed. One of the highlights of our stay was the outstanding service provided by the reception staff, especially the lady who attended to us. She went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and hassle-free, always ready to assist us with anything we needed. Another great benefit was the availability of free parking for our car (obviously outside the walls). The hotel staff even sent someone to collect us and our luggage upon arrival, making the check-in process seamless and convenient. Overall, I highly recommend Murum Boutique Rooms for anyone looking to stay in a central, comfortable and stylish accommodation in Split, with exceptional service and attention to detail.

The breakfast was absolutely great! Local specialties fresh from the oven, homemade, a large variety! The staff was unexpected lovely and helpful. The owner herself is involved with her heart what makes this experience very familiar. The room on the upper floor with the garden terrace is superb.

The good location inside the Diocletian Palace is a great experience but for this we had to accept a few minor inconveniences. Of course the hotel cannot reduce the lively noise of chatting restaurant guests in the court until late in the night and cannot offer parking spaces just next the building. They are though very helpful with carrying the luggage from a private car parking quite nearby.

First of all, the location was superb, it couldn't possibly be any better. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, too. The design of the room, its furnishings, exposing the old stone walls, and indeed of the renovated hotel as a whole was very thoughtful and sensitively done, given the history of the building and its location. We altogether just loved staying here.

The canopy over the bed made the room seem a bit smaller. Also one of the windows looked directly into a window across the narrow street, so it wasn't very private (had to keep that curtain closed, but OTOH, there were windows on three sides of the room, so it was okay).

The hotel was perfectly located in the old town, in a hidden corner away from the masses. We booked the room with the beautiful terrace and were able to have our breakfast brought up there, which was absolutely lovely. The room was gorgeous and had everything we need. The fact that the hotel only had 7 rooms made our stay feel very personal. The hotel staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. You could tell that they were very passionate about providing the best customer experience. All of them helped to make our stay, and my birthday, unforgetable.

Nothing, it was all great!

Beautiful boutique hotel, very well renovated and fitted out. Comfortable room, large en-suite, music if wanted! Lovely book about the history of hotel, robe, slippers, mini bar.. everything you’d need. Breakfast - lots of choice and so fresh and delicious. Everything and more. Liked the welcome emails offering to help with collection and guidance to the hotel. Also, organised for someone to take us to the ferry free if charge. Amazing service. Staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. So helpful and welcoming. Location was perfect, middle of old town, easily accessible to Split important areas. Two fabulous restaurants on our doorstep.

The shower was very weak. That might have been because the room was top floor. Still very functional, very small point.

The property is in the middle of the palace, but the facilities are completely modern and rooms have all your creature comforts. What makes this hotel spectacular is the staff and service. The had Jakov meet me and walk (he dragged my very heavy luggage up and down stairs) to the hotel. The front desk staff was amazing Dea and the morning staff (I forgot their names!) were amazing with tons of recommendations, restaurant reservations etc. Also, the breakfast was awesome, order the pancakes!

There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property.

From the pre-arrival communication with the hotel, until we reluctantly said our goodbyes on leaving, EVERYTHING WAS FABULOUS !! The hotel-arranged taxi was there to meet us on our arrival at the airport. When our taxi arrived in the city, we were met and guided to the hotel by a member of the hotel staff. The hotel itself is situated in an area, no more than 2 minutes stroll from what we considered to be the historic square in the centre of the Diocletian Palace; an awesome setting. It was reached after a walk down characterful narrow alleyways where one can feel the sense of history of the area; almost expecting a roman legionnaire to step out in front of us. At the hotel reception we were greeted by a lovely smiling face and welcome. Our room was immaculately clean, beautifully stylish and well equipped. The fixtures, fittings and soft furnishing were all of high quality. The room itself was spotlessly cleaned each day. At breakfast we chose from a wide variety of fruit, cheese, cooked meats, fruit juices, breads and other tempting options, too numerous to list. In addition to the cold buffet, we could also order a bespoke cooked breakfast. What more could one want! Transfer 10/10. Location 10/10. Hotel staff 11/10. Hotel Décor and food 10/10. Anything I’ve missed 10/10. Would we stay here again, YOU BET WE WOULD. Thankyou to all involved for helping to make our stay in Split so fantastic.😍

Absolutely nothing

We felt like royalty during our stay in Murum hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond to make your trip unforgettable. The breakfast was unbelievable so good, so much choice and all so fresh. The beds are very spacious and sleep very well. The location is perfect in the middle of the old city. The staff picked us up from the shuttle bus from the airport, bus station is near the hotel and near the harbour. All you need is nearby. Advice: take the room with the roof terrace. You enjoy the great weather while having breakfast there and expands your room. Meanwhile you can enjoy the bustling sounds of the old town.

There is always noise around the hotel (old town, pubs / restaurants) so if you sleep light....bring ear plugs. I did and slept wonderfully. But this it....you don't want to miss this hotel, really!

The location of the Hotel Murum is great, a central spot ideal for a short or multi-day visit to Split. It was just perfect for our three-day stay. It is right inside Diocletian's Palace and therefore one can walk to the Riva, to the historic sites, the Game of Thrones locales, to lively bars, concert venues, and to good restaurants. The Murum staff met us at the Ferry Landing to assure our ease of arrival. Other guests, who were driving around Europe, spoke highly of the assistance the staff gave with parking arrangements and directions. The staff is first-rate; very friendly, charming, and well-informed. They all did all that could each day to insure that we had everything we needed. They asked about food preferences and then recommended perfect restaurants at good prices! They gave us directions to find the restaurants and even volunteered to escort us if we weren't sure of how to navigate the warren of small cobbled lanes that give Split its character. Our room was quiet, immaculately clean and very comfortable with great bedding. They provided robes and slippers. The included breakfast was delicious! A good variety of fresh fruits and pastries were available and a mix of cereals, yogurts and savory dishes were on hand, including a few traditional Croatian specialties, which they described and encouraged us to try. They also invited us to ask them for our own breakfast favorites including eggs, pancakes, waffles, crepes, etc. Fresh juices and great capuchinos or other hot beverages were also prepared to taste.

While it was quite comfortable, we wish our room had been larger, particularly on a day when we were inside because of rain.

Staff was unbelievably helpful. More than any other hotel we have ever stayed at. They bend over backwards for you without being obtrusive. They spoil you with amazing service! Also, just fabulous location.

The AC was weak, and Split was HOT when we were there. It’s possible something was wrong with the system. We asked for a fan and I think they went out and bought a nice one for the room. Service was just amazing!!
