Hotel Vestibul Palace & Villa - Small Luxury Hotels Of The World

Location, location, location. A short walk to everything and we were woken up by singing in the Vestibule from the Dalmatian Klapa Singers. That is how close we were to the centre of the palace. As the hotel is small, the staff have the time to really look after all its customers. Their customer service was exceptional. Having the wonderful breakfast outside in the courtyard was a fantastic start to every day (we also had regular visits from the local cats who were very friendly but did not speak English :-)

The hotel could have confirmed directions. This would have been helpful as it is a bit complicated when arriving for the first time.

We loved our stay at this hotel! The building itself is beautiful and hidden away within the palace walls. We found the staff very hospitable, in particular the female manager and the two young men who carried up our bags and served us drinks on the terrace. The rooms were just lovely, with comfortable beds and modern decor that blended in beautifully with the architectural design showcasing the walls. Enjoyed the Molton Brown bath products too. Above all, the location for this hotel was just out of this world - a one-off experience that we won't forget. Thank you!

Very minor. 1. The old fashioned hairdryer in the bathroom, which seemed out of keeping with the rest of the room. 2. The fridge in the room wasn't cold enough. But these were minor observations that certainly didn't detract from our visit.

The hotel is in a splendid location, literally built in to the Roman palace in the historic city center. Our room looked right into the Vestibule, where we could enjoy the occasional a cappella singing concerts. Yet with the window closed, the room was quiet. Furnishings were all very high quality. Breakfast buffet was very good, and they provided gluten-free bread for my celiac husband. The service was outstanding. Parking is always tricky when staying inside car-free historic cores, but they directed us to a spot nearby where they came out to meet us, took care of parking the car for us, and carried our heavy bags all the way to our room (which was no small journey from where we had to leave the car!). All of the staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful.

It’s central location right in Diocletian’s Palace was great. Although the rooms were not large, they were comfortable. Staff were charming, friendly and couldn’t do enough to help, from changing our rooms after advice from our driver that some of our party may have trouble with steps, to offering cool drinks when we returned from walking around, to advising what to see and where to go. Absolutely outstanding and well deserving the title of “best small luxury hotel”. Thank you to all staff.

Too many steps for our older partners, and no electric jug in the room (probably not necessary because refreshing cool drinks and coffees were always available.

Breakfast met all expectations. We were given the option to move into the main hotel that had just undergone renovations. The hotel incorporated the character of the palace and is well laid out for a comfortable stay. Note that you are next to the Cathedral so expect early morning bells. Edited after response from Hotel: Kindly note that this is not reflected as a negative. It is something to take note of regarding the location and adds to the atmosphere of the location.

The room we moved to had the shower in the bath. Getting in and out of the bath to shower definitely had its challenges, This could be a problem for some visitors. Edited: Please note the response from the Hotel. You can definitely speak to the staff and they will assist wherever possible.

We were booked at the Villa Doric, but when we returned after our evening dinner, the room was uncomfortably hot, the air conditioning not managing well and the 55 channel tv not working. Sent message to reception and moments later were moved to a wonderfully cool room in Hotel Vestibul. We were very grateful and appreciated this effort. Staff very helpful with dinner suggestions/reservations and managing parking arrangements.

After the move to a cool room in the main hotel building, there wasn’t anything left we didn’t like.

The location of this hotel is at the heart of Roman Split, perfect for exploring the old town, cathedral etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast, good quality. Cosy and comfortable.

We should have rung ahead, as the hotel is difficult to find. Hotel staff will help you access car park. Buffet breakfast limited.Local area bustling with tourists, cathedral bells and local singers giving background noise, but all part of the charm of the location.

Recently spent 4 nights at Villa Dobric. It’s in a great location in the old town. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby but we didn’t hear any noice at night. Bed was super comfy, room and bathroom spotless and air con was a godsend in the high temperatures. Short, pretty walk to the main hotel for breakfast which was very good.

The room was small but we didn’t spend too long in it as there’s lots to explore

The SLH collection is pretty much a guarantee of something special and the Hotel Vestibul continues that well-earned experience for visitors. A brilliant location in the old town putting everything within a walking distance. Split is a city of ancient pavings, little alleys and steps - worth keeping in mind. Lovely staff at this hotel of just seven rooms and they will look after you well. Beautifully appointed and comfortable bedrooms - embrace being woken up by the tower bells a 6am and 7am… you’ll soon nod off again and if lucky reawaken to the sound of choral singing from the Vestibul just behind the property. A lovely breakfast service (thanks Mike) to set you up for the day… tables with shade outside for a mid-morning coffee. No evening meal service while we were there but with a plethora of incredible restaurants all around you - you’ll soon find something delicious for dinner. The staff will happily recommend.

Missed a Nespresso machine or similar in the room… but I’m sure the staff would happily bring you a coffee before breakfast if you asked. It’s a shame there’s not a resident’s lounge area - but apparently part of plans for a gentle makeover of the public spaces in the coming months.

what is there not to love, staying right in the center of Diocletian’s Palace makes for a whole different experience when visiting Split. no other hotel would be able to give a comparable experience. Also all the recommendations we had from the front desk were spot on, Dino was our tour guide and we doubled the time with him since he is a wealth of knowledge and we did not stop laughing through the 4 hrs we spent with him. A would return to the Vestibule in a heart beat.
