Hôtel La Pérouse Nice Baie des Anges - Recently fully renovated

Amazing location on the sea with stunning views, yet nice and quiet in the hotel. The fragrance around the property and in the breakfast area is just divine. Beautifully decorated and great toiletries from local perfumery La Fragonard. Breakfast setting is stunning by the pool and the breakfast is even better - fresh pastries, coffees etc. Breakfast was brought to our room on our first morning, at no additional charge. Hotel has a rooftop with great views, which was completely quiet during our stay. We had problems with our room on the first day so we were moved into another room with a partial sea view.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon but unfortunately the hotel did not offer anything at all to make our stay more special, so I don’t think they are used to having guests celebrate special occasions. The first room we checked in to had a rock facing view, however unfortunately there was no wifi coverage in this room, and the AC or the telephone was not working due to being recently renovated. Furthermore the AC does not allow you to warm the room - it was a little chilly during our stay. No hot breakfast included in the breakfast rooms, even though we were aware.

such a beautiful spot and the facilities are good. we know they are planning a refurb this year - as the hotel is wonderful already I can only imagine how gorgeous it will be in the future.

there were one or two little things that reflect the need for a refurbishment but otherwise it was good. I do yearn for a proper cup of tea sometimes and the breakfast coffee was not as excellent as you would expect in France. For English clients being able to offer a good cup of tea would be a game changer, and certainly a good hot ‘cafe-au-lait’ should be instinctive in France….but I am nitpicking!!

The hotel is located in the Chateau/Castel area. While being in front of the beach and close to Vieux Nice, it is outside just enough from the busier/louder Promenade areas. The room we stayed in had an excellent view and beautiful facilities, which have been recently renovated. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and everything is done to a high standard. The swimming pool is spacious and the deck is nicely integrated against the hill rock.

It is a bit of a long walk to the Aeroport tram but is a small price to pay for the beautiful location.

A lovely positioned hotel. In the quieter part of Nice towards the old town. Seeing the rest of Nice we definitely chose well. A nice stroll out in the evening to the plentiful bars and restaurants to choose from. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food in the restaurant was outstanding. Our bathroom was a very good size and had plenty of space to put things which is so rare in hotels. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet.

Our room was a little tired. There was no mirror in the bedroom apart from in the wardrobe which wasn't great when getting ready to go out in the evening. It was guess work when straightening my hair as the mirror was about 15ft away! We also requested a room with balcony and were both shocked when the door was opened and we were faced with a cliff face which also made the room very dark. It was a maze of stairs and lifts to get to our room. It would also be nice to have a comfortable seating area in the bar area. There isn't really anywhere inviting to sit.

This was a fantastic hotel. Everything was clean and newly renovated. Our room has a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

The layout was a bit confusing. You has to take One elevator from reception to first floor and a second elevator to the other floors. Key system a little strange and inconvenient. Ubers could not come to hotel so forced to walk a bit or pay for a higher priced taxi.

From the minute we walked into the hotel we were welcomed and looked after by Kristin on the front desk. Our room with a sea view was superb and made our trip extra special being able to sit out on our balcony in the sunshine. The location was perfect for walking along the promenade or going into the old town with plenty of restaurants nearby too.

We loved everything about the hotel but we hadn’t realised that breakfast was included as it wasn’t mentioned on check in so sadly we didn’t get to sample breakfast. It was in the email confirmation but we missed it!

Excellent location, lovely hotel with a quirky layout, built into the cliff face, Ideally located for the old town and the port. Lovely pool area which is ideal for relaxing, with a dip in a nice clean pool. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant / bar area is ideal for breakfast - very tranquil!

The restaurant and drinks were very expensive, For example, the 'happy hour' drinks prices were more expensive than the price in the city bars. They offer a 20% discount for the restaurant for guests, which is welcome considering the starters are around 25-30 Euros!

Very expensive but that’s what you get in that area I guess. Quirky very small rooms - expensive for what you get tea facilities in tiny cubby area - seemed dangerous hadn’t been stocked up either The showers were not modernised at all - Hand rail type for a shower :( Not great options for snaxs at bar area and expensive!

Beautifully located hotel! It was our first time in the South of France and the hotel's location and the decent reviews was primarily why we booked it. The views from our room and the rooftop were incomparable! The hotel staff were super friendly - we rented road bicycles during our stay and the staff were very helpful in storing it near the reception for us. The pool feels VERY plush and private and the hot tub/jacuzzi was PERFECT after an entire day of cycling.

The multiple lifts/elevators to get to different parts/wings of the hotel can be extremely confusing. We took it positively as an adventure but we can understand if people completely dislike the hotel because of it.

The location is 100m away from the bars and restaurants of Nice old town. The views of Nice bay and the sea are stunning. The room and patio over looking the sea is well appointed with all modern amenities but with older world charm. The service is excellent.

Nice have recently changed the roads around the hotel which make access by car and even dropping off challenging. Use google maps to find the way because most, even current, car sat navs are wrong for directions. The hotel is situated on the side of a large rocky cliff which means 3 separate elevators and some stairs to get to the upper rooms. Ok for us but might be challenging for more infirm guests.
