St. Julian's Bay Hotel

The hotel is in St julians/Ballutta Bay less than 10mins walking to paceville and sliema (a possibility to swim in less than 1min) and plenty of good Restaurants next to it (my suggestion: Boconccino). The rooms are quiet new, stylish, awesome view, WiFi is awesome and most of the staff are super kind, especially Plamena, the Manager. We stood a long time in the hotel and tried several rooms, all of them were nice. As mentioned before, anything you need is close to the hotel

I couldn't stay longer

The hotel is located near a small city beach. Other nearby beaches are within easy walking distance. The hotel is easily reached from the airport by bus X2, which stops near the hotel, Olivier station. Breakfasts were good though monotonous. There are various restaurants around the hotel. Valletta is easily reached by bus. You can walk to the port of Sliema, where you can use a boat to take you to Valletta.

If you're travelling on a budget but not a fan of 50 people rooms like in hostels this is one of the spots to stay in. The location is fantastic - compromise between Sliema and St. Julian's XD, close to everything (including bus stops with direct transfer to Valletta and the airport), bars and restaurants on the same street, just by the Balluta Bay, the staff is polite and helpful, room's as well as common areas are clean, (rooms are also quite big based on my experiences in other European hotels). Didn't have breakfast - nothing to rate here. I took the room without the view, so no rate on this either. Overall I think this hotel is better than the rating says. Some tourists are wayyy too demanding.

Wifi connection was poor but I guess it's the matter of necessity - some need it on vacation, some don't ;)

We have booked hotel for one week, 7 nights. We really enjoyed it! Room was big enough for 2 people, also the bathroom. Room was cleaned everyday - trash were emptied, we got fresh towels. Breakfast was OK, the choice was the same everyday - sausages, bacon, beans, bread, jam, yoghurt, eggs, etc.. It was not very diverse, but I think that everyone can find at least something to eat. Staff at breakfast was very nice, so thumbs up for them! A lot of people complained about the noise (here in the reviews) but we did not have any problems with that. Our balcony was not facing the main street, probably that is one of the reasons. Overall, it is not super fancy hotel, but good enough for the price you pay! Also, location is great. It is very "alive" area. There is also many restaurants and bars around to have a dinner or drink in the evening or morning coffee.

I have nothing to complain about.

Room was clean and simple and the Aircon was great as per our expectation. Location was good as in walking distance to some of the main areas but quite enough to get food and drink without having to wait in a queue or chair. Staff where welcoming. Breakfast is very basic but for the price point its to be expected.

Booked a taxi back to the airport which was more expensive than uber and other taxi services. If you arrive early you are charged to store baggage but its in the same room as where you leave it on the day you leave! Doors on the rooms feel insecure and on windy nights will bang and other guests come in at 2am to 3am and no consideration is given for sleeping guests. We had an Ant problem when we arrived but it cleared up and didn't impact us for the remaining part of the week. The room was advertised with a Balcony but didnt have one. The review of the lift is accurate in that its slow and also doesnt help because other guests where keeping it on the floor by stopping the door from closing by keeping it ajar.

Air conditioner excellent and comfort was excellent except for 1st night. Staff professional and friendly.

Proper double beds seem to be only available in economy rooms. Kept falling between two single beds stuck together 1st night but I was moved to a downgraded economy room the following day which solved the issue. If reception clearly stated the situation, this issue could have been avoided!! Lots of street noise keeps you awake but my white noise machine solved this issue. Very useful gadget!!

Anita & Vikesh done everything they could to make our holiday very memorable. Anita was amazing, she really helped us out when we were stuck with booking taxi’s and just going out of her way to help us. Thank you Anita. Special thanks to the Bulgarian receptionist who helped carry our bags to the taxi. The staff in the hotel make it worth while to stay at this hotel.!The property was very clean. The hotel is right in the heart of St Julians Bay with fantastic views and great places to eat within walking distance.

The hotel is a bit worn and needs maintenance such a having a working phone line in the room so we could call reception. & there is mould on the seals of the shower. Also shower protective screen broken. Room door locks are faulty too.

Many thanks to the ladymaid (a bit older- don't know her name, I think it's the supervizor of the maids) who was extremely kind and understanding to me. All reception staff was friendly and helpful .

When you enter the room, you are hit by a strong smell of sewage, even if there is a little window for ventilation in the toilet, a bit dubious, having the exhaust in an internal chimney. I never left it open, because you never know what can be on the walls of the chimney...:)) An investment in this regard and in the proper lighting of the room would be recommended. Otherwise, everything was okay.

Location is great. You have all you need on your feet. Restaurants, bars, easy transportation to everywhere and a lovely view from the balcony. Reception is very friendly and would like to thank one of the members, the lady from Bulgaria (I'm so sorry for my short memory with names), she is a real professional, always with a smile & nothing was too much trouble for her (plus she is gooorgeous 😃) View from balcony is beautiful and there is a pool where teams are training every night, offering us something nice to watch while enjoying our drinks. Rooms are spacious and had some good nights sleep as beds were comfy. There are coffee and tea making facilities in the room and shower amenities so there was nothing we were missing.

On arrival our superior sea view room was not available and we had to spend first night in a standard room, something that made me very upset. Yet the next day our beautiful receptionist arranged one of their best rooms for us and she made everything great again (thank you)

Great location but very good value. Substantial choice for breakfast and friendly polite and just nice staff. comfortable bed. Tea trays and effective a/c is n room. Balcony with chair. Very clean hotel overall. Usual noise of being in a tourist area by some nice restaurants etc but nothing too troubling.

Shower doors open inwards so even thin people need to breathe in and “negotiate” how to exit the shower. Otherwise a nice en suite.
