Grand Hotel Colonial Cancun

We were in the heart of the city with all the facilities on hand. Eating wasn't a problem as well as getting to the ADO bus station. The room had two beds for my wife and I. We stayed eight days as we took the colectivo almost everyday in front, on the main road, to get to the beach. So very handy.

Unexpectedly, almost every night, we heard this quasi load bass sound coming from a nearby disco bar. Unfortunately, it lasted almost every night sometimes till 3 a.m. but I got used to it. This is what you get if you want to stay in downtown Cancun. Yes, I would go back for its facilities.

The Colonial was very close to the Ado bus station which we needed to travel to Belize. Our rooms were very clean.

We had a language barrier due to my poor Spanish and the managers poor English. I asked for 2 rooms together as I was travelling with my teenage children.. I was given one room on the top floor and 1 room on the ground floor. Although I did feel it was safe for us to stay the 2 nights.

Super little hotel for a simple stay, traditional ‘rooms around a courtyard’ style. It’s handily located just a short walk from the ADO bus station without (and this is important) having to cross any of the major Cancun highways which is a nightmare for a newcomer! Nearby you have Palapas square which you walk past from ADO with food stalls and fun rides and where the Mex hang out. As well as other restaurants on both Tulipanes streets, including directly across from hotel. I ate at Quesadillas Tierra del Sol, £2 for something to eat and drink and you can tell it’s good when they queue out the door. Great choice, would stay again.

Great location, half way between the park and the ADO. The staff were helpful and helped me to find coffee in the morning as well as the collectivo to the ferry terminal. I enjoyed the cute pool and terrace, comfortable and quiet room. The towel and linen smelled beautifully fresh and the room / communal spaces were really clean.

The location is very close to the bus station, ideal for late and early arrivers by bus. The staff reacted fast to any complications.

There was a confusion about available rooms, so it prolonged our check-in and the first day we were not able to open the doors with the card and needed to ask for the assistance.

the smell of the bathroom, I think they have a plumbing problem, even if they clean it every day still smelling to poop. only the bathroom

Top location 5 minutes from the bus station. Spacious rooms, good WiFi, a nice courtyard with tropical plants, reception around the clock. Special thanks to Ericka who cleaned and prepared my room with great attention to detail. She deserves a raise :-)

There is no breakfast or coffee directly at the hotel, but the restaurant is right across the street. Water refills would be nice to avoid plastic waste

super close to the ADO to get to the airport the next day. check out is by 12pm, which was nice. Hairdryer in the room plus beds were comfortable! There’s an amazing authentic (& cheap) Mexican stand right across the hotel with great quesadillas!

AC seemed to have a mind of its own. No outside windows & my window was out to the courtyard so it was kinda noisy with people talking

Great location, friendly helpful staff, clean and comfortable, good air-conditioning and wifi. We stayed just for a night passing through Cancun and needed somewhere close to ADO bus station and this was perfect.

No big problems! Extra pillows would be nice, windows open on to courtyard so others may see in to your room if curtains open.
