Auto Lodge Motor Inn

As advertised and met my high expectations. My kitchen suite was mostly well set for in unit meal prep but the full sized oven is not supported with adequate in oven cooking containers. I think that if U ask that the office can supply a frypan. The low placement of the small microwave also was annoying. Front road rooms will have traffic noise. The 2nd story rooms will need the use of stairs. A big establishment. Would recommend.

As above. I had tradies staying next to me one night who smoked at their doorway next to my open door until I voiced my displeasure. Like most of these workers they were up too early the next morning for a noisy door banging departure.

Great location and size of room for one adult and two children. Kids loved having a pool to use. Nice clean rooms and comfy beds. Would stay again.

Went to use the iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the room. None of which seemed to be working or working well. Iron leaking water so didn't want to use it. Board couldn't seem to open and hair dryer didn't appear to work. Also exterior of hotel balcony areas could do with some cleaning and no chairs available to sit on unless you took your room ones out to use. Be great to have more info in rooms about the restaurant and prices - we didn't use it as a result.

Value for money is excellent Location is excellent Room we have used only for a short stay was great We did arrive for breakfast within the timeframe but they were only cooking certain breakfast options . The buffet was an option but we wanted the other . The hostess checked with the chef to see if our choices were available & they were & 2 of our choices were served from the buffet stock so we all had what we wanted . We did have to pay additional for barista coffees where as at the Devon the barista machine produces an excellent coffee & highly rate this as we are fussy about our coffee 😊 We did go to The Devon buffet dinner on Monday night to be honest as this was a particularly good way to include our 9 year old granddaughter & offer her some exciting choices . I have had meals at the Autolodge before & they have been excellent aswell .

Everything met our expectations. We booked two rooms for two nights as my partner and three teenage children were also guests and I am guessing due to booking at such short notice (one day prior to departure) there were no studios available big enough to room all five of us comfortably; The kids did not mind this at all, the loved having their own space. I appreciated the fact that when I asked for the studios/units to be next to one another the Motel went out of their way to make it happen for my family and I.

Loved that Room 9 was equipped with full kitchen facilities and a separate bedroom with its own TV. The extra space and separate lounge made for a very comfortable stay. Overall a tastefully presented unit with a spacious bathroom. The spa and swimming pool were popular facilities put to good use during our stay. By comparison, our room appeared modern to others that we had family staying in across the complex.

Appreciate if you could check the TV in the bedroom as it wasn't able to get channels 1,2,3 and some others (it should mirror the same channels the TV in the lounge can get). There wasn't a frying pan supplied (that we could find) and believe another mirror in the bedroom would be a good addition.

Upon arrival very friendly reception staff welcomed us and directed us to our room. We were shown parking area and given a small bottle of milk. Also advised of the on-site restaurant available for our use if required.

Small bar fridge in a cupboard near bathroom which also housed an electric jug. 3 glasses, wine glasses and mugs provided. No means of filling jug or washing dishes other than using the bathroom sink. No dish cloth, tea towels or detergent provided. We would have welcomed a toaster and microwave which could have fitted in the cupboard.

We mainly picked this place because we could stay with our dogs. We had a family gathering in NP and couldn’t find anyone to look after our dogs so we took them with us from Wellington, I called the hotel before made a booking and confirmed we had dogs, they got us a room on the first floor so it was easier for us to access to our room with our dogs. People were extremely friendly and everything was so convenient and easy.

Can’t think of anything really. The parking lot was a bit packed but we had no problem finding a spot to park our car

Check in staff were very helpful and we were able to check in straight away even tho we were two hours earlier than check in time, they were also very accommodating providing free storage for our mountain bikes. We had a standard hotel room, decor was a little dated however facilities and furnishings were in good condition and room serviced to a high standard of cleanliness. Rooms are a generous size. We had a room on the coastal side of the hotel with a partial view of the ocean, which was nice and quiet. The hotel restaurant and bar had great atmosphere.

Great location, parking, comfortable. The room had kitchen equipment in a cupboard including a toaster and microwave. A couple of comfortable armchairs in front of TV. Beds were comfortable although pillows not so much. Great to have a restaurant and room service onsite. Friendly and helpful staff. Beach close by.

No towel rail or hook to hang big towels on. Constant noise from laundry next door was irritating. Bathroom sink was very small and we had to fill kettle in the bathtub!

I was very thankfull that the reception was open untill 11pm and she was very lovely. The next morning of our stay the reception lady was lovely and opened the spa and access to pool at 730 in the morning and provided pool towels, when we checked out we had left powerade in the fridge and she was able to retrieve it for us and have it for us to collect it was not a problem and we were very greatful. The staff that welcomed us in thefood area was very hospitable as we ordered a smoothie and because we were leaving she transfered it into a to go cup, very happy with staff and greatfull for accomadating to our needs.
