Bed was very comfortable and handy with the restaurant right there

Pool was gross and air-conditioning in the room wouldn't stay on

The room was very clean and comfortable and was well stocked with all the essentials. The shared facilities were also fantastic - there was a pool and spa available for guest use, an outdoor courtyard and a bar and restaurant. We very much enjoyed an evening drink in the outdoor courtyard

The only issue we had was our room was very close to the laundry and it was very loud from 7am the next morning which meant we didn’t get much of a sleep in - it would of been nice to know this before booking the room

The Breakfast was excellent 👌 the Room myself and my partner booked was adequate 👍the services from staff excellent

The services of the King Studio Room that my Daughter was in was not fully serviced before arriving e.a shampoo/conditioner/bodywash was not in the Shower, went to reception to ask for these items and the reception gave my Daughter some and told her to come down to get more if needed. The Air Condition Unit was not working properly during her stay in the Room and she found it very uncomfortable due to the Room was poorly ventilated and extremely hot uncomfortable sleeping during her stay. We did bring our concerns up with Reception and a person was sent up to the Room twice to fix the Air Condition Unit on each day but was still not working properly

The bed was very comfortable with decent pillows. The shower had good pressure and was easy to operate. The buffet restaurant was really good for both dinner and breakfast. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful.

The room was a little smaller than we expected, (King Studio) but was comfortable. Next time we'll go for the next size up. The only possible issue is that it doesn't pay to go out near the time the restaurant opens for dinner as you risk losing your parking space.

Lovely well presented and furnished room with two double beds. Good Air con and Fridge and well stocked for tea and coffee making. Very helpful staff throughout the whole hotel. We had the Christmas buffet which was fantastic. It was stress free and the selection of food was amazing. View out of the main window was the pool and Mount Taranaki. Plenty of fresh water fill up points throughout the hotel.

Parking on site is limited but we parked on the side street without any problem.

This was our second stay at the Devon Hotel, we enjoyed it so much last time we made sure to stay here again. The bed is so amazingly comfy, it's very difficult to get out of in the morning! The shower is the best I have ever had. The staff are amazing, so polite and helpful. The restaurant staff even cut up my oranges for my football game that day which I had travelled for! It's location is great, we walked 100m to get to the track which would take us for a morning beach walk.

The room we stayed in may need a little top up of paint on the ceiling and around skirtings, but this didn't phase us at all and I noticed the rooms next to us were getting done so I imagine ours was the next on the list!!

This hotel is amazing (Probably the best I have ever stayed at) & super cheap too. We booked in for our wedding anniversary & the whole experience was definitely one to remember. The staff were so friendly, we felt super welcomed the moment we arrived. The room service food was delicious. We even had a spa bath in our room and were able to hire out the bikes which we went for a ride in a beautiful forest just down the road. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely return in the future

We loved the pool, the restaurant, the very comfortable beds! The little extras like the dental kit were awesome as my daughter forgot her toothbrush. The housekeeping staff were so friendly- interestingly I didn’t experience this level of friendliness with the reception staff. The restaurant staff were also incredibly attentive and friendly. We loved the coffee machine in the room and the water coolers around the hotel.

Parking. If you go out and then try and come back and park while the restaurant is open, there are no parks. This was a big issue for me as I was travelling alone with my young daughter and one of the reasons I booked was because parking on-site was advertised. It’s great that the restaurant is so busy, but not so great for guest parking. Also cleanliness of glasses - I went to have a glass of wine and all 4 glasses I pulled out were dirty and had lipstick stains on them. The tap in the bathroom was also broken and moved around when I was trying to turn it off and on.

Food quality was excellent for both evening meal and breakfast. Staff everywhere were very professional and the free use of bikes and pool was a real treat!

I had seen photographs of very stylish, contemporary rooms online and expected there had been a significant face lift since our previous visits years ago. Our room however, seemed a little tired looking. We saw into other rooms while they were being cleaned and they looked absolutely beautiful, leaving us a little disappointed. Wonder if I booked wrong room/cheaper option.

Great location, easy parking, friendly staff excellent value for money all good. One small point. When I rang to book the lady started telling me when you had reservations! I hadn’t even had a chance to say when I wanted to come.I had to interrupt her and say I wanted to book for the next week! So gave her dates sat. and sun. and she said Sun ok but full sat. Ok but didn’t say could you do sun and Monday instead? Which we could! Also Mon was a holiday in NP so there was flexibility. Also we retired. So I put phone down and wife and I decided to try sun booking and Monday. So rang back and booked. My point here is once the guest leaves the phone call the chance of a booking is greatly diminished. Simple question from receptionist could have been   "is there any other dates that would suit you?" then quick chat to my wife, whilst still on phone and job done- no chance of losing client.👍. This is not a complaint just hopefully a better way to get the sale on the first call. Hope this is helpful, we love staying at The Devon. We have 2 new grandies just around the corner ( we are from Tauranga).
